Lumia 710 ugprade to .12120? Qualcomm QPST? - Nokia Lumia 800

Hey guys, been away from the game for a few month with my Lumia 710 and seems like lots of things changed.
My phone was originally a Lumia 710 from rogers, I then flashed an Australian variant of .12050 which worked fine with NCS. Looks like I can't flash the new firmware using this meathod anymore. Following the instructions I get some "format your disk" question, which I said no.
Did more digging online, and it appears I have the Qualcomm bootloader? Also when USB fines it shows Qualcomm MSM or something like that. Anyways, how do I go about just flashing a new rom into my device. I don't want a custom rom, I just want a Mobilicity variant of .12120 which I already downloade from NaviFirm. In one place it says to use Qualcomm QPST....to flash a Nokia firmware? I am at a loss. Just need to be pointed in the right direction.

NCS is for DLOAD bootloaders, NSS can either restore the DLOAD bootloader or from what I understand can be used to flash roms on the QC bootloader
Also this can flash ROMs to QC bootloader
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1665821
I haven't used them so do some more research, but that is how I understand it

Thanks for the reply, however, I am still confused.
Seems like most of these programs are designed to flash .nb files, I just want to flash factory software.
It appears that i can put a dload boot loader onto my phone and then just do it throught NCS, but can I go back to qualcomm if I decide to unlock my phone later?

With a Lumia 710 you can go from Qualcomm to DLOAD and vice versa. With an 800 you can only go from Qualcomm to DLOAD and not the other way round.

No Serial no Usb in Bootlader-Modus

please help me, i will flash my Mozart with DFT- Rom but it shows neither serial nor usb ( see picture). Thanks
Hi,
I think that your problem is due to your bootloader version which is 5.10. To install a DFT rom your bootloader version must not be 4.XX or 5.XX. If you are in that case you have to downgrade your bootloader
Further more, it seems that for the moment it's not possible to downgrade a 5.XX bootloader.
You have to wait for the moment, i'm in the same case of you...
OK, how can I change bootlader if I have no usb connection, that is the problem. Thanks
As far as i know, the only way to downgrade a 5.10 bootloader is by using a gold card with an old ROM version (which as an old bootloaderversion).
You can found some informations here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=893152
I am not skilled enough to try this method, if you want to test it i wish you good luck!!

Your main mistake was that you had made the official update to latest mango.
Or you bought the phone already updated by someone.
The latest official software updates bootloader to version 5.10.
This bootloader will not allow you to flash any custom rom (including DFT). Also you cannot downgrade the bootloader version in any way. No GoldCard or whatever will do that.
So - just use only official roms or sell your phone away and buy the new one, but check boot version while buying.
The current state of your phone is "half - brick". You can normally use the phone and you are able to install official rom updates if they appear. But you can not install any custom rom.
Here, open this link and read carefully before you proceed: 18 Branded hTC Roms
* Yeah, ones who replied earlier are true. I wonder, how could you use SPL 5? mine is 1.26 and running Mango..
I've got mine with 5.11 bootlader then I use Goldcard. If I'm not wrong Goldcard is the method which requires y-cable, USB card reader, and microSD.
I'm so lucky I successfully downgraded it from 5.11 to 1.32.
I'm using a custom ROM right now.
So I think it's not true that you can't downgrade 5.xx to lower versions.
Just follow the instructions here at XDA and read it carefully.
It's just a little nervous to do.
Do you have the solution?
Try with this ROM

i think this will work only for HTC Europe, if I have an Asian Rom, will this work?
When you turn on you phone at usb-host mode ( turn phone off and hold camera + volume down button and turn phone on. You are going to be in usb-host mode. you can downgrande your spl by using gold card method. You have to remember that, if you phone is ornage france, you have to use older bootlader version orange fr roms. otherwise you are going to have not allow error.

My plan to flash custom rom on Mango with 4.5 bootloader - pls check

Hi all!
I am currently on Mango 7720 with bootloader 4.5 and so I can't use HSPL.
I read that with an Y-cable it is possible to do it.
I need a stock rom for my mozart, as my firmware rev ends with 111 I need TMO-DE (T-Mobile DE). So this are my planned steps:
1. Connecting PC - SD card - Mozart using Y-cable, flashing it with this rom on the SD card: RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.32.111.01_5.65.09.25_22.45.50_ RELEASE (taken from this thread)
2. Next step will be HSPL my device (thanks to step #1 it's bootloader is below 4.x) following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
3. Now i can flash any custom mozart rom (hopefully).
Any reply if i am correct will be appreciated - the ones pointing to a misthought even more ;-)
Thanks,
UP
with 4.5 I think it's possible without a Y-cable, I didn't use one. I think y-cable is only necessary for 5.XX and higher.
I simply put device in bootloader screen (holding vol down whilst switching on) connected it to my computer and waited for USB to appear on the bottom, finally I flashed an older rom, like your RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.32.111.01_5.65.09.25_22.45.50_ RELEASE
If this works you should have a 1.32 bootloader, you can then install RSLP/HSLP
If you need a Y-cable, it will not let you flash the ROM, as far as I know though this only happens with post 5.XX bootloaders
Hope that answers your question. Obviously make sure you follow the instructions for RSLP and HSLP carefully and fully understand that if something goes wrong (powercut etc) you have effectively bricked your device.
Otherwise best of luck.
EDIT: Obviously if you plan to use the RUU_Mozart_TMO_DE_1.32.111.01_5.65.09.25_22.45.50_ RELEASE, make sure your phone's original rom was TMO_DE (I assume that is T-Mobile Germany) Otherwise you risk bricking your device.

Thanks for your reply!
In the HSPL/RSPL thread i read that it will brick your device when using Mango ROM with 4.xx/5.xx Bootloader.
That's why i intend to use the Y-Cable. I would be lucky if i would'nt have to.
So you think I can directly flash the old NoDo ROM to downgrade the bootloader without the Y-Cable and then install RSPL/HSPL? Wow thanks for this useful information, makes it a lot more easier!
My Firmwarerevision ends in .111 - that's why i think it's TMO DE. Is there any other way to tell this?

That's what I did, as long as it's the same branding it will downgrade your bootloader to the one in the rom.

[Q] Problems using NSS

Hi,
I have a simlocked Lumia 800 and I have it on DLOAD. I have the latest official software installed. I have read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1778454
but having some problems using NSS. I get a "NAND disk... Not Found" error and it may also be because I am not rooted or don't have the Qualcomm Bootloader.
I want to ask the following questions:
1. Where should I start? Rooting or installing the Qualcomm Bootloader and how do I do that? I would really appreciate it if there is a program that does this for me.
2. Can I still update my phone via Zune for official software updates after that? (Rooted Androids have problems updating via official updates)
I am a newbie and not so advanced in the steps of rooting or installing bootloaders. TIA
:fingers-crossed:
Anyone?
A DLOAD lumia cannot be rooted and cannot be sim unlocked with NSS!

No,:cyclops:
Then you cant install xap-files. For that you need an unlocked device. Bluetooth share you should be able to find on market place under Nokia collection.

wait? My phone is factory unlocked, so my phone have unlocked bootloades isn't?
if no, please give me step by step tutorial, so i can install my custom xap. :silly:
Thanks a lot.
Factory unlocked only means carrier or sim unlocked. If your phone has dloader as boot-loader then there is no chance of installing xap-files. If your phone has qualcomm boot-loader then you can. Do a search in this forum to find out how to determine what boot-loader your phone has.

There are two conditions to install xap...
1. If your phone is brand new and not unlocked (refer case 2 and 3), then you can install XAP(WP application files) from MarketPlace only. There is not other way.
2. If your phone is dev-unlocked, then you can install upto 10 xap files of your choice. To dev-unlock a phone you need a dev account from microsoft which is by default paid. and you can use that to unlock upto three devices. It is good if you are a developer.
3. If your phone is rooted then you can install as many XAP files as you can. There is virtually no restriction for this. Simple way to do it is by installing CUSTOM ROM to your phone.
Once your phone is unlocked there are many ways to install a XAP.
1. XAP deployer from WP SDK.
2. other unethical tools, which I would not name here.
BUT sadly you need a very strong luck, if you are using a Lumia 800, that's too at 7.8. The best way is to get a dev-account. Register as a student; it will be free. if you are successfully registered, you can install upto 10 apps
THIS is a illegally legal way to unlock a lumia. Moreover installing unlicensed XAP is again illegal.
all
You may install a custom rom and you won`t get problems with installing Xap and use Appz by your choice.

Unlocking the bootloader

Can anyone please guide me how unlock bootloader unofficially, I am on latest miui global beta??
There are so many threads on how to unlock bootloader. And almost always someone complaining breaking their phone with said method, mostly the said person's fault. There's really no need now to unlock bootloader to flash custom ROMs, etc. The only disadvantage being you cannot flash in fastboot which isn't really a disadvantage as you can just use TWRP. Everything works fine even with locked bootloader.
Here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/kate-guide-install-lineage-os-locked-t3546154
The one I followed is the experimental updated method. You only need to download a 20 MB file. It literally just took me 10 min. after opening the box to get out of MIUI.

Sorry don't about that. Never had problems with that.
I used the Mi PC Suite on this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/redmi-note3-prokenzo-guiderom-global-t3341102
If drivers still isn't installed, try Mi Unlock. I think Mi Unlock also installs drivers.
