Hey guys, this thread was made to uncover some of very useful but subtle tricks when using your Xperia Z Ultra. Might come handy with any other Xperia series but for now just for our XZU only. If there are any other tips, please post it freely and i'll coup into the OP :fingers-crossed:
Turn On LockScreen Widget (KitKat only)
Go To Settings -> Security -> Enable Widgets
Some Connectivity Toggle Button in Notification Bar can be long pressed to get advanced setting shortcut(KitKat only)
Now you can Shoot Video Underwater securely with Touch Blocker Small App (Kitkat Only)
Turn Off Background Data while on Mobile Data Per App
Go To Settings -> Data Usage -> click one of listed app there -> Check Restrict Background Data
Mount Your Xperia in MTP mode wirelessly to your Windows Computer(KitKat only)
Go to Settings -> Xperia Connectivity -> USB Connectivity -> WIreless Media Transfer -> Pair With PC
Follow Instruction Given by the phone (e.g. Connect To USB, Right Click on the Phone icon on the Windows Explorer -> Manage Connection)
Next time you're on the same Wifi network with the PC, just go to the same menu, tap the saved computer and press connect.
Mount a Shared folder into Your Xperia
Share a folder in your computer/NAS, preferably as an SFTP share
Go to Settings -> Storage -> Remote Shares
Click New Host, Choose SFTP share
put Display name with any name you like to identify
Put the IP Address on the Host Field
Put "/" (or any other specific FTP folder e.g. "/Backup") into Remote Path
Put SFTP login info into username and password field
When Done, just go back one menu, and then switch it on
Enhance the Caller Voice
Go To Settings -> Call Settings
set Equalizer to Bright/Smooth, Can be adjusted while taking/receiving a call too
Check the Speaker Voice Enhancement
Activate Caption For Video (Kitkat Only)
Go To Settings -> Accessibility -> Captions -> Turn On

I think the Wireless MTP is also KitKat only - I don't have that option in 4.3

Cry me a river then babe..
I for once doesn't have time to go around the settings menu, and finding these facts myself is the reason why i'm posting it. Maybe somebody like me doesn't know about such things.
THankyou for the OP, I did know about them all but hadn't bothered to try and find the wifi usb one - should be handy
Hey, thanks, I didn't know a couple of those!

To take a screenshot hold power and volume down key at the same time.
By the way, if that's you in the profile picture, you look great. Just a compliment.
I don't know if this is widely known but I've never seen it written down before and a quick search of this forum didn't turn up anything.
To access Developer Options on your 8.9" HDX with OS 4.5.1; go to Settings and open the Device Options screen; tap Device Model quickly several (5 - 6) times (you will see a countdown). Developer Options will appear at the bottom of the list.
Other ROMs are reportedly made zipper by reducing each of the animation settings (I.e.; from 1 to .5) so you might try that as a start but, don't mess with settings you don't understand - you may come to regret it.

Hello, I need to change the device name of my Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet in order for certain bluetooth devices to connect, but I can't seem to find this option in the settings. Would anyone know where this option is under the settings menu. As of right now my device name is Xperia Z3 Compact Tablet and it needs to be much shorter. any help would be appreciated thanks.
Go to settings --> Bluetooth ---> Turn on Bluetooth ---> Click on the drop-down menu on the far top right (it looks like 3 vertical dots) click on rename tablet.

I am currently using Swift Key as my default keyboard. Whenever I switch to ultra power saving mode and switch back, my default keyboard is changed to Samsung keyboard. How can I fix this?

I had that same problem when using Fleksy. To fix your issue disable the samsung keyboard. On a side note, I would discourage the usage of SwiftKey because it recently was anounced that it has a major security flaw that can be easily exploited.
If you try to disable Samsung keyboard you have not any keyboard in The ultra power saving mode. This is The only keyboard you can use in that mode. I use SwiftKey too

You do realize that the keyboard can’t be uninstalled and even when it’s not the default keyboard, it can still be exploited right?
It's not a good idea to patronize people about this issue if you didn't know that. They should know it is still an issue, even when they're not using it.
Make sure you are using an encrypted VPN on the android and do not visit any questionable sites until this issue is fixed. You'd have to root your phone and remove it, being that this issue happens on the "samsung keyboard", it does not show up as "Swiftkey" on your device. Once removing Samsung Keyboard, reboot your phone and you should be fine.
Ironically, sometimes it's safer to be on a rooted device with non standard software as exploits are typically done with the preinstalled software on the phone.
Hello
I do not have access to the phone keypad to enter the phone's password in ultra power saving mode

Use OTG cable/adapter and use a mouse and keyboard
The 2018 Honda Pilot runs Android 4.2.2. When I access the Android settings and browser to "About device" it seems that the Build Number menu item has been strategically remove.
Is this a known security measure?
I'd be very grateful for any insight into how I might get Developer Options enabled.

Just tap anywhere else inside the device information. Any space will activate it for sure
Other than the Android Version menu item showing a Jelly Bean image, nothing happens with any of the menu items when tapping them.
