Google Now search very loud sounds - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

How do I turn down/off the ridiculously loud Google Now voice search bleeps and bloops? I'd rather just have it vibrate or, you know, not alert everybody on the block that I'm trying to use voice search. Is there a way to do this? (No, I'm not turning down the phone volume, these sounds are disproportionately loud to everything else on the phone/planet)
thanks

I second this question. it is really loud no matter what the phone settings.

Reviving this thread, is no one else bothered by this??

Interesting. I have the complete opposite effect. All Google apps are super quiet. Google voice; can not hear in ear but speaker barely. Google now; can not hear very low volume. Volumes are all the way up: ringtone, media, and alarms yet those two Google apps are super quiet.

I think that it is very loud. Not uncomfortably loud, but I don't like the fact that I cannot control the volume level. It doesn't correspond with the volumes set by the phone.

Yes, very loud. I use a wired headset and that voice blows my head off as it announces the connection. I wish there was a way to control it. An app??

[Q] Tasker script to solve headphones/incoming call/notification issue

Anyone able to create a profile to solve the issue we have with our note. The issue is the following,
If headphones are plugged in and we get an incoming call, the ringtone will play on both speaker and headphones.
If headphones are plugged in and we get a notification, the sound will only play through speaker.
I tried to do a basic script that has headphones plugged in and incoming call for context, then set ringer volume to 0 and play music ringtone.mp3. Add exit task to for the opposite, raise ringer volume, stop music.
The problem is, it worked, if I didn't have music playing already when I get an incoming call, which is the whole reason why I would have headphones plugged in to begin with. The task successfully sets the ringer volume to 0 so at least it didn't play on the speaker, but then nothing would play on the headphones, and the music I was playing would pause (like it's supposed to), but the ringtone I specified didn't play. Ending the call resumes the music I was playing.
Anyone willing to shed some insight on this?
This issue is next on my list. I believe it is an issue with how the phone distinguishes what the sound is. ..phone vs media...hard to explain

Annoying volume reduction

Alrighty. I searched around and found this question asked a few times around the net, but never answered. Same question is also asked over in the Sprint note2 q&a with no replies...
The question is this..
How the heck do you disable the automatic reduction in volume when plugging something in the 3.5mm jack?
I switch between by car's cd player and a line-in cable to use streaming audio through my phone a lot and am incredibly annoyed with having to turn my phone's volume back up when i plug in the cable. I also dont like being chided like a 10 year old with the "don't listen to loud music" message each time i turn the volume back up... i don't need a nanny. i just want to listen to my music without having to keep fiddling with volume settings.
Anyone know where this "feature" is and how to disable it?

Good question. I was wondering the same thing, as well as how to turn off the "soft ring" or whatever it's called where the ringer starts low when you're receiving a call and after a second or two goes to regular volume.
I've looked in the sound settings and in accessibility but can't find any options for those things.
i seem to be having the opposite problem ...
the volume is loud as hell even on the low setting.
maybe its just me ?

Some custom ROMs have it removed...if you are stock or the ROM you are running doesn't have it removed you can install this app in the market to stop it from happening:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...S5zaHVtb2FwcC5kaXNhYmxlaW5jcmVhc2luZ3JpbmciXQ..
It's free. It runs in the background but I've never seen it consume any battery. All you have to do is open the app and it stops the increasing ring from then on. Make sure and follow the instructions if you don't want the persistent notification. I turned it off and the app has never been killed.
Honestly, that increasing ring was irritating, but i never thought about fixing it... i installed that app and we'll see how its works.
Now if we can just get rid of that stupid volume reduction i'll be set!
<- rooted stock

Well... I just flashed to beans rom 7.... And the silly volume reduction is still there...
Anyone have any other ideas on wherr this "feature" is hidden so i can excise it like a malignant tumor?

First volume level is LOUD!

Anyone know a way to define the output for the volume levels? Basically when you turn the volume from 0 to the first bump up (I.e. supposed to be very quiet), I find it to be uncommonly loud. Any thoughts?

I am curious about this as well. Seems to be more noticeable when streaming video from the web browser.
I've noticed this also. Since all the ROMs so far are bases off of stock, it has affected each ROM I try as well
I've tried lowering sound in equalizer and looking for quiet apps, but not-so-shockingly no one wants an app to make their phone quieter, only louder. As for now, I either connect to a Bluetooth speaker and play that audio quietly or headphones.
I haven't tested this myself yet (but I will soon because it's such a problem) but I've heard that editing the build.prop (relatively easy to do) can adjust the volume levels. There's another thread somewhere around here that discusses doing this. I'll post back if/when I get it to work.
i used to complain how speakers was low on my previous phones,But dna it super loud on low.Like this beast of a phone have bose built in.
Same problem here. The lowest ringer volume level is still way too loud for work.
And with Sony xloud you can make it louder

I also noticed this problem. The first bump of volume is way too loud. Hopefully someo f the custom roms can tweak this to be more reasonable.

Sounds to quiet

I have done research and it appears that Samsung has it set up to ring softly and get louder. Which results in missed calls. Anyone have a way to disable this without keeping an app running all the time?
Also anyway to boost the volume as this phone is the most quiet phone i've ever had and it sucks missing notifications and ringtones. You can't really put a cover over it as it makes it a little bit more quiet and I"m already missing things due to the sound not being as loud as any other previous phone.
Anyone have any fixes? I've searched the net and many people seem to be having issues with it not being loud enough.
If you don't have a fix, but think it's not loud enough chime in so some devs can get it on it maybe?
I hate the volume on Ringtones on this phone too. There is an option in sound settings to make it ring louder in pocket but that's all I've found
Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk 2
There are a few apps on the Google Play store that let you boost sound.
Although I have not tried it - there are a few that seem to have good reviews and solves that problem, or at least makes it slightly more tolerable - hope this helps.
I checked all the ones in the app don't work on the new android OS. This really sucks. No way to boost volume at all it appears without a dev coming up with something. Unless someone else found something?
Assuming you are rooted, this makes everything louder: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293133
Great find. Thank you.
Agree on the weak volume
I need to root my phone apparently because this stock volume BLOWS! I cant say how many calls Ive missed due to not hearing it in my pocket.
If it's just the ascending ringtone (it's quiet for the first 3-4 seconds and ramps up), you can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shumoapp.disableincreasingring. The first post said without apps.

Google Now voice search sound effects very loud...

Anyone else find the sound effects when using voice search in Google now to be very loud and irritating? Even when my system/ringtone/notification volume is turned down, Google now beeps way too loud when using voice search.
Anyone know a way to fix this?
bump... Samsung SVoice common issue as well

Anyone know if any custom Rom's allow disabling/adjusting the volume on these voice recognition alerts? I've found many complaints about the excessive volume back to at least 2013, but no solution yet. Using bt, the volume is easily loud enough to damage hearing. I would like to find a way to eliminate this risk while still retaining the ability to use voice to text, call, change phone settings, etc.
Has anyone gained any knowledge on this issue since this original post? Galaxy S5 is quite a while for Samsung to ignore these complaints. Any help I'd really appreciate.
