Google Now voice search sound effects very loud... - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S 4

Anyone else find the sound effects when using voice search in Google now to be very loud and irritating? Even when my system/ringtone/notification volume is turned down, Google now beeps way too loud when using voice search.
Anyone know a way to fix this?

Anyone know if any custom Rom's allow disabling/adjusting the volume on these voice recognition alerts? I've found many complaints about the excessive volume back to at least 2013, but no solution yet. Using bt, the volume is easily loud enough to damage hearing. I would like to find a way to eliminate this risk while still retaining the ability to use voice to text, call, change phone settings, etc.
Has anyone gained any knowledge on this issue since this original post? Galaxy S5 is quite a while for Samsung to ignore these complaints. Any help I'd really appreciate.

[Q] voice recognition doesn't recognize me

Anybody have any hints for using voice recognition with a headset? It knows I'm trying to talk to it, but it doesn't seem to know what I'm saying so it keeps telling me to try again instead of dialing.
I've been experimenting and if I use the Voice Search application on the phone everything appears to work except that somehow sound coming and going is completely cut off.
Voice Dialer doesn't work with the headset or without.
I can use Voice Search to place the call and then turn on my headset and switch over, but I get an error on the screen that the communication app has failed. The error being on screen doesn't interfere with the call though.
Odd effect is that the volume control buttons got stuck on bluetooth in-call volume. I had to restart the phone to clear it.
I assume you are referring to voice dialing from a bluetooth headset. As far as I can tell from reading the forums it never worked but has been fixed in the new 351 update (Android 2.2.2). It didnt work for me on the 318 build but now does on the 351 build. I dont believe voice search works from a bluetooth headset though as far as I know.

[Q] Permanent solution to too low In-call volume on headset

Hi,
I'm on Galaxy S2; Android 2.3.3; KE7.
When using headphones on my device the volume is great for music, videos, youtube, and even skype. However for some reason it's only around half of that level when calling (even tough the volume is set to maximum).
I've done some google research and found out that it's quite a common issue with this phone. A workaround has been found by using some codes. However, it is not a permanent solution.
I've found a post which says that someone had called Samsung and they acknowledged the issue and will send them a new phone where this issue has been fixed.
1) Has anyone found a permanent solution to increasing the volume of the call when on headset?
2) I've also found a post where someone says that apparently Samsung will fix this issue in Android 2.3.4. Can you confirm this? When will this be available? If it's longer than 1-2 weeks I will have to send my phone for a refund/exchange (although I love it).
Your advice on the above is much appreciated.
Hi, I've done some further research and I think I've found the solution:
First make sure that your sound is on (as you can't access the volume settings in the silent mode) -> press the Menu button -> Settings -> Sound -> Volume -> and then increase the 'Incoming call' volume.
I've just tested the call volume when on headset and it has been increased to a more that enough level. Great. My love to this phone is growing
Now I have to figure out how to disable the camera shutter sound....but that's a question for another post...
It seems that the solution above worked for some time but now my phone started to deliver very low call volume when on headphones. Maybe it's due to the Android update, I don't know.
However I found that the issue is related to the media volume. For example when I listen to music and turn the volume low then this affects the incoming call volume and it becomes low as well.
The solution to this problem seems to be: make sure that the music volume is max before you want to make a call. I've just tested it an is seems to do the trick.
It would be great to hear to another solutions to this problem for unrooted phones.
Heard this app works well,

Google Now search very loud sounds

How do I turn down/off the ridiculously loud Google Now voice search bleeps and bloops? I'd rather just have it vibrate or, you know, not alert everybody on the block that I'm trying to use voice search. Is there a way to do this? (No, I'm not turning down the phone volume, these sounds are disproportionately loud to everything else on the phone/planet)
thanks
I second this question. it is really loud no matter what the phone settings.
Reviving this thread, is no one else bothered by this??
Interesting. I have the complete opposite effect. All Google apps are super quiet. Google voice; can not hear in ear but speaker barely. Google now; can not hear very low volume. Volumes are all the way up: ringtone, media, and alarms yet those two Google apps are super quiet.

I think that it is very loud. Not uncomfortably loud, but I don't like the fact that I cannot control the volume level. It doesn't correspond with the volumes set by the phone.

Yes, very loud. I use a wired headset and that voice blows my head off as it announces the connection. I wish there was a way to control it. An app??

Voice recognition not working

I'm not sure what's causing this. It seems to have started when I first rooted the phone. Voice recognition isn't working. When I try to use google search the circle around the microphone icon will move, but the icon doesn't turn red as it does when it recognizes voice. If I cup my hands around the microphone on the phone and pretty much yell, sometimes I can get it to work. Other times I can't. Tried another test, downloaded a voice recording app and when I recorded, I could hear my voice but it was INCREDIBLY quiet. I couldn't make out what I was saying at full volume. I have had no complaints about my voice when on phone calls. Does anyone have any idea what this is, or what a fix would be? I'm rooted currently, have tried multiple different roms with the same outcome. Am I just missing a setting somewhere?

Sounds to quiet

I have done research and it appears that Samsung has it set up to ring softly and get louder. Which results in missed calls. Anyone have a way to disable this without keeping an app running all the time?
Also anyway to boost the volume as this phone is the most quiet phone i've ever had and it sucks missing notifications and ringtones. You can't really put a cover over it as it makes it a little bit more quiet and I"m already missing things due to the sound not being as loud as any other previous phone.
Anyone have any fixes? I've searched the net and many people seem to be having issues with it not being loud enough.
If you don't have a fix, but think it's not loud enough chime in so some devs can get it on it maybe?
I hate the volume on Ringtones on this phone too. There is an option in sound settings to make it ring louder in pocket but that's all I've found

There are a few apps on the Google Play store that let you boost sound.
Although I have not tried it - there are a few that seem to have good reviews and solves that problem, or at least makes it slightly more tolerable - hope this helps.
I checked all the ones in the app don't work on the new android OS. This really sucks. No way to boost volume at all it appears without a dev coming up with something. Unless someone else found something?
Assuming you are rooted, this makes everything louder: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293133
Great find. Thank you.
Agree on the weak volume
I need to root my phone apparently because this stock volume BLOWS! I cant say how many calls Ive missed due to not hearing it in my pocket.
If it's just the ascending ringtone (it's quiet for the first 3-4 seconds and ramps up), you can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shumoapp.disableincreasingring. The first post said without apps.
