[Q] Custon brightness levels do not save - Legend Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I tried searching the forums for this problem, but didn't find a solution.
When I edit the brightness levels and try to save, I get the message that 'Settings has stopped'. Is there a workaround to edit and save the levels, ie. ADB?

Yes, I am using Zeubea's CM10. I would love to dim my screen more so I can save battery, but it looks like more people have this problem of not being able to save levels.

Why don't you change the brightness manually in display setting with the slider?

But wouldn't that mean that brightness is set at a fixed level? I use my phone in different environments and automatic would be very handy. But thanks for the suggestion.

[Q] Are there any apps to customize the AutoBrightness?

Does anyone know if there are any apps that will let you fully customize the AutoBrightness?
By which I mean, setting up varying sets of:
Light detected between (min, max), Brightness set to ###
I think I saw somewhere that CM7 works this way, but is there any app that will do this for the stock build (rooted and unlocked)?
Its not an autobrightness app but I have seen substancial improvements to my battery life using the SuperDim app, it does have save slots but you have to switch between them manually its not auto. Hope thats somewhat helpful.

Thanks, I have something for manual swapping, but it's... inconvenient.
I was really looking for an app that does custom autobright settings. I can't believe no one has coded one somewhere...

Go to settings. Display. Toggle Auto-brightness on or off.
I get that part I meant the settings that has something to do with with the auto brightness sensor. It just seems a bit dim in the same light vs. a sense ROM

I believe this is something with MIUI. It's been like that on this phone with every revision I've ran. Either set your Brightness to a desired level or deal with the low auto for now until/if they can fix that.

[Q][SOLVED] Not able to install Non-Market Apps

Hey guys, i'm currently not able to install non-market apps. I've checked in system settings that this is allowed. The only problem is that the install button cannot be activated but the abort button.
Does anybody has an answer for that? (example attached)
Thanks!

Juicedefender
Hi, are you using Juicedefender or any other app managing screen brightness ?
If yes, disable this app and it will work, you can reactivate it after you apk install
I had this issue with JD and it made me mad :silly:

I had the same problem with Screen Filter. But when I turn it off everything works fine. So no problem at all.

Thank you!! I have JB Galaxy S3 and was having the same problem!! Found your post and disabled LUX (which controls screen brightness) and was then able to install my non-market app. Doesn't make any sense why that would have anything to do with it, however thank you for the fix!!

Yeah I posted a message on the thread and still waiting. Just wanted to see if anyone had it laying around to share..
Found it one that works! Attached below for others. It lowers brightness to 1, stock brightness is 40. A lot less distraction for operating your phone in the dark. Just take the 50dimleds file(not all the folds, but just the file alone) and place it into system/etc/init.d/and reboot. This should save me a bit of battery too, yeah I know very little. lol

Find this file:
System/etc/init.d/01buttonlights
Open the file in that location in root explorer or similar app. Then in the file, change the brightest value from 1 to something higher. 40 is the brightest.
