[Q] Stock OS without removing custom recovery? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Hi,
I've been looking through some of the guides and they all include flashing your recovery to default, so I've be wondering if there is a way to simply instal the stock OS via the clockwork recovery?
Thank you for help.
Orphx
EDIT: I'm currently using Clockwork mod 6.0.1.2 and the latest CNG10 and would like to upgrade/downgrade back to the Jellybean 4.1 (with TouchWiz)

We do not have jellybean touchwiz. If you want stock ics just odin then flash recovery over it.

Try these

Do you even have an I717 Note? I am guessing you don't.

[Q] Clockwork Mod Problems

I am running froyo stock 2.2.1 and i want to be able to flash zips. I am not new to clockwork mod and i have used it before but the only problem is, i can't get clockwork mod to work on my stock 2.6.32.9 kernel. it wont boot into it. is there any way i can run it on my kernel with an older version? or if you could, suggest a SMOOTH rom for me to download?
I suggest bi-winning, its a 2.2.1 rom but has a lot of nice mods and many themes available. Go to WWW.edtdev.com to get it

Installing Clockwork recovery

So I'm rooting my friends phone for him and planning to install villianrom.
So far ive rooted via zerg exploit.. All went well, after I downloaded ROM manager and install clock work recovery for "Samsung galaxy S 2". Rebooted into recovery and it took me into stock Android recovery, which of course means clockwork didn't install..
I've been doing some reading and it seems tho ppl install the tweaked kernel with root and recovery pre applied.. If there no way around going that route? I mean the phone is already rooted, can't I install clockwork some other way.
Also if I dont have any choice and have to go through the flashing pre rooted clockwork kernel through Odin. Suppose I install a ROM with a custom speed kernel, will I loose root and clock work since it's pre applied to the stockish kernel I flashed from Odin?

ONCE more Rom Manager and CWM dont work on SGS2 .

No

Most roms have CWM anyway read the install instructions
will I loose root and clock work since it's pre applied to the stockish kernel I flashed from Odin?
No

Original = built from sources. i.e. CyanogenMod for an example of a ROM, or Siyah for a kernel.
Regular = derivative from something else, i.e. many ROMs out there are usually derived from stock, with themes and such.
Just apply cf root specific to your phone base and flash it in the PDA section of Odin, it will re root your phone with cwm recovery, then place the villain from or from of your choice in the root of your SD card and flash it with cwm, any problems let me know

[Q] How to revert Galaxy Player back to stock rom.

I have a rooted Samsung Galaxy Player 5.0 and I have ICS Crumble ROM on it and it is acting up, so I wanted to know how to revert back to stock rom or any better roms to use if i cant go back to stock rom. Thank You!
If you have clockworkmod recovery or something like that (Odin3 can be used for flashing too) you can use this stock ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574207) to revert back to your first official ROM.
Or you can try reverting it via Kies, Samsungs software for her galaxy devices. Just connect and click (somewhere in the menu's) an option that's sounds like fabric reset. It will download the latest stock ROM for your device.
And, of course, don't forget to make a backup of at least your internal SD-card. Just in case....
Good luck!

Getting back 4.1.2

Hi to all,
I am newbee to android. After using HTC One V for few months I purchased Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 from UAE. It was running Jellybean 4.1.2 having Modem XXLS8. On a fine day for the requirement of built in call recording I rooted my phone and managed to install Omega Rom V23.
All went smooth. But next day I realised that Hindi fonts are not properly displaying and I made a big mistake to flash Omega Rom again. This time I stucked in BootLoop . Everything tried. Finally I gave up
I thought flashing back may work so I flashed available stock Gingerbird rom via odin. Now system is back running Stock Gingerbird Android with modem XXKI4. Then I tried to update GB to JB via OTA and Kies, But OTA and kies refused to update software.
Please give me any solution to get back my 4.1.2 version or tell me any idea to get Custom Rom Omega V23. Will it safe to flash Omega V23 4.1.2 directly on current 2.3.6 rom with Philz latest kernels?

Yes you can, you're gonna have to root it tho.

Thanks. Can I root present 2.3.6 Gingerbird and Install Custom Rom Omega v23 4.1.2 directly? Or I have to reinstall stock version 4.1.2 over current 2.3.6 Gingerbird?

Well, the latest CMW version might be better, is not mandatory to go 4.1.2 tho.

I am not getting it. Please spoon feed me. I will be in debt.
I tried following steps:
I download Omega V23 custom rom and kernel - PhilZ-cwm6-XWLSN-OXX-4.93.6-signed and placed it on SDCard. After going into stock recovery I applied Philz Kernel via Stock Recovery. But getting error in red-
E:Failed to verify whole file signature
E:Signature verification failed
Please give me any solution. I dont have enough previlage to post into Android Development Forum as I am newbee here.

I guess you did not make backup of your original ROM... i would recommend that you install ics first before installing jb or custom jb roms... you can get stock ones samfilmware.. when try installing omega ROM again make sure you back your ROM this time so will not start all over again if a problem occurs at any time had same problem bootloop because of the kernel that was installed just did a full wipe fixed it for me and reinstall over again

Yepp..You are not getting it. System is running GingerBread with Stock Recovery. I can make backup in CWM recovery only. But right now my problem is that Philz Kernel is not installing. It will give me CWM Recovery and it will root the device. Any solution for above error??

Stock rom

Hi I've flashed my s2 with sentinel rom (basically cyanogenmod) so it's like a nexus 4 and I would quite like to flash a stock rom but not like the s2 rom like is there a way to flash an s3/s4 stock rom to my phone?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
No. Pls don't flash a rom that's not made for your phone as you will probably brick it. Look in Android development for what you want
I double dare you to try it.
Is there a way that I can go back to my original stock rom test it out and if I don't like it go back to my flashed rom?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Hi,
Make a nandroid backup from you current rom und flash an other rom. If its not fit you can restore your backup
Maybe you have to flash the kernel that you used to make the backup before you restoring.
Basically I want jelly bean but the stock version. Currently I'm using a rom that is jelly beans but is like a nexus 4 but I want the Samsung features. Thanks

Hi,
i know, you wrote on OP sentinal rom. Just make a backup from your current rom in the recovery. And then you go to the download modus and flash a stock rom via odin. If you dont like it, flash a recovery and restore your backup.
Easy
Ok! Where can I get the stock rom from and can it be jelly bean? I know that when you buy the new s2s they have 4.1.2 installed! And how to you flash a recovery? Everything else I know.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Okay... do you flash the sentinel rom oder someone else? If you did it than you have to know what the recovery is. It the menue that comes up when you hold VolUp+Home+Power and boot. There ist an option "Backup and restore".
Here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ you can get the official stock roms, just search for I9100. To download you have to register, its free
Andi
Get your stock rom from samfirmware. Just scroll down and download the required Android version. You can get temporary recovery from recovery tools in play store or if you want permanent recovery you gotta flash a custom kernel.
