Yes it is normal. Once you have a secure lock screen it disables the notification pulldown.
It would not be secure if you could change settings on the phone etc. When you have a pin/pattern set.
It's a standard function of the android os

Can I answer the call other way than sliding the bar to the right? or can I disable the lock screen?
Is because when somebody calls, sometimes the slide bar looks like does not answer and google voice shows as a miss call, so it is not answering. That is way I want to try disabling the lock screen if that is the problem.
I installed the last update, 198-6 and rooted.
Thanks

To disable the lock screen: Press Menu at the home screen. > Select Location and Security > Under Security, select Change Screen Lock > enter your current pattern/pin/password > select NONE
I don't use patterns to unlock my screen, I am talking about the all unlock program.

I use an app called power control to enable/disable the lock screen through a desktop widget, the app has a bunch of settings, most of which work as they should. The only 2 I have found that don't work right are the mobile network and the 4g controls.

is it possible to have a flashlight application in the lockscreen, bypassing the lockcode or PIN number?
flashlight is a important feature and sometimes you dont have time to input the code specially if there's danger around you and you need light immediately.
Put a torch shortcut on the lockscreen. Job done.

You can't have shortcuts on the lockscreen like the swipe lockscreen? I didn't know that, sorry.

I have Flashlight HD LED installed and just added it to my Lock screen and I can simply Swipe the icon and it turns on. Is that what you mean?
You can use the 15 toggle mod to add the torch to the pull down notification menu.
Starting from ICS you can pull down the notification menu from the lockscreen.

I noticed that when you set a security lock for the phone, you can no longer choose shortcuts to apps on the lock screen like you can with no security features enabled.
Anyone know if this is even an option? I used this all the time on my galaxy s3. Now if insecure my phone with a pasword, I don't have the shortcuts

I have that option but the notifications dont appear.
Same here, and notifications don't stay on the lock screen either. I'm suspecting this is by design. I really don't want to go through the trouble of buying a new phone again.
It's a feature, if you want to see notifications in lockscreen you need to use stock lockscreen theme, but emui don't show notifications icons on lockscreen

you mean the google now launcher?
this is probably the worst design decision i've ever witnessed, might have to get a new phone if this can't be fixed properly
I hv stock lockscreen on still no lockscreen notification
Hello, I'm coming from an iPhone and one thing I really like is that when I click on a notification on the lock screen it opens up to the app without me having to do any additional actions (because of Face Unlock).
I have face unlock enabled on my S21 but when I click on a notification I still have to swipe up... is there a way around that so that it just opens up to the app when I click on the notification on the lock screen?

Oh there are several settings for lock screen and notifications.
Just play around. Maybe there is a combination that works for you.
