Good evening guys. I've managed to root this phone but now it can't recognize my SIM-Card and I'm socially isolated. I rooted using a method requiring SP Flash Tool and SuperOneClick, plus usb drivers and now this problem emerged. I tried hard reset, didn't work; unroot, didn't work also I tried reinstalling the OS but OT Upgrade couldn't do it because the phone's running the latest version of factory ROM for it.
Can anyone on this forum help me!?

Does any one know how to Root Alcatel one touch (OT) 903D on Android Gingerbread 2.3.6?
I had use many methods, like the oneclick and the sdk using command promp. but it doesn't work.
Have you tried Chainfire's Gingerbreak or DoomLord's zergrush exploits?
Also, I came across this thread for a very similar Alcatel device.....

I'd be very interested to hear if you've had any success since you posted this, as I just got the phone today, and already need to root due to the measly internal storage, plus the fact that i don't want Farcebook on me phone.....grrr!

Sorry for the late reply, Maybe I'll try the doomlord's zergrush, but the gingerbreak doesn't work either.
I just give up rooting this phone already. I'm a little disappointed but I'll try this one again. I hope there will be someone with the same phone will have this rooted. Anyway, thanks for the response.

Is there a super-simple quick way to root the device(Alcatel OT-903) because it is on-the-go-slow and is driving me nuts. I have tried Gingerbreak, Z4Root, One Click Root, Super One Click and Framaroot. None of the listed methods work and i am going to try Zerg-Rush, will post an update.. Included are some of the methods i did try. Some have not been tried. SRS Root(erisone10.apk) requires android recovery zip flasher. Please reply if it did or didn't work.
How does Zerg Rush work??

Unfortunately there is no easy way and no one click solution for this device. MTKDroidTool and SPFlashTool build from the original ROM, a modified ROM with CWM Recovery and install it. After you get root access and can optimize the Alcatel.
Work best for me:
- MTK CPU Control Test (overclock to 806MHz and 1500mV)
- ES Task Manager for a clean startup (only the launcher and the PlayStore starts at boot) (103MB free RAM at boot)
- Lightning launcher for a little bit more performance
what does not work:
- Swap is not supported by kernel
- Loop devices are also not supported by the kernel, so do not run Linux on the Alcatel

[Q] [ Rooting ] Alps Alps MTK MTK6577

SOLVED: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43163569&postcount=7
Hello,
I just bought a android 4.1.1 mobile that's model name is: Alps E1909l_v77_gq1008_a41_v20. You have probably have been asked this a lot but how can I root it with out bricking it?
I have tried using srsroot (the one click method which didn't work) and I tried using this MTK6577 root which also did not work. This is the phone I bought: amazon.co.uk/--/dp/B00BI1IXFY .
So please help as I really want to root it with out bricking it. As its one of the very vast range of different phones I doubt there is a root method for it that will work/not brick it. If you could before I root it could you tell me a way of backing up the Stock ROM WITHOUT rooting it? I have used adb to back it up but I don't know if that backups the whole phone ROM. All the methods I have used are the fourth post.
Thanks,
Zacy5000

I can point you to a one click root option then you can just use MTK Droid Tools to make back up of your stock firmware. OR you can use MTK Droid Tools to make a custom recovery that will allow you to make a back up in recovery (this way you can back up firmware before rooting but you will need to flash the custom recovery to device first) Let me know which way you prefer to proceed and I would be glad to help.

same problem here. Kingo, vRoot, OneClick. Nothing seems to be working.
I don't have my phone with me right now.. i'll get it back from the service center in 3-4 days.
but once i do, i m going to try the following to root kitkat.
1. editing the official update.zip from xolo site using 7-zip. I'll put su binary into /system/bin and superuser.apk into /system/app. I will also edit the update-script in META-INF so the update gets accepted. and see if this works.
2. There is a CWM recovery for this phone at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2637027&page=3. I'll flash this recovery and flash the new edited update.zip from this recovery.
hopefully one of these methods will work.. if anyone got better ideas please share
please do something

hi there is a way to get jellybean back to the xolo opus... you can use the broadcom multidownloader to flash the jellybean ROM of mobiistar. just remember to choose "english" as the language at the start. you can also get back to Xolo kit-kat using this article http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52815948#post52815948 so feel free to fool around with the multidownloader software as now you never have to worry about bricking the device. whatever you do you can still flash ROM into it.. guide for the multidownloader -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747749
the mobiistar jellybean ROM is rootable. so enjoy .. btw i am from India .. but the same device is sold in vietnam also. so there is a lot of development coming from there,.
JUST REMEMBER TO BACKUP.. FLASHING USING THE TOOL WILL COMPLETELY ERASE ALL PERSONAL DATA ON YOUR PHONE. BUT IT WON'T ERASE SDCARD
Thank you very very much.i am also from india.i will go to this site and try to flash rom on my device if i will succeed i will tell you thank you once again for this thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you

Rooting vivo devices are nasty thing to do. they dont like unlocking their devices i think. I got a Vivo V7 plus from my friend, said he found it on his taxi car. No one called or came for it for almost 6 months. So he gave it to me and told me if i can open the lock and use it for good. Of course i can format it using recovery but there's is this FRP thing right?
So i downloaded the firmware and flashed using QFIL. Unlucky... IMEI got erased. I've been trying to repair it for almost 3 months no luck. Tried everything i can find on the internet. Nothing seems to work. i'm gonna try and root it today. May be i can re write the imei with root permission. I found a rooting instruction in another site. I will provide link. Don't know it will work or not. But if it does work, I will reply here.

Did anyone manage to do it?
