same problem here. Kingo, vRoot, OneClick. Nothing seems to be working.
I don't have my phone with me right now.. i'll get it back from the service center in 3-4 days.
but once i do, i m going to try the following to root kitkat.
1. editing the official update.zip from xolo site using 7-zip. I'll put su binary into /system/bin and superuser.apk into /system/app. I will also edit the update-script in META-INF so the update gets accepted. and see if this works.
2. There is a CWM recovery for this phone at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2637027&page=3. I'll flash this recovery and flash the new edited update.zip from this recovery.
hopefully one of these methods will work.. if anyone got better ideas please share

hi there is a way to get jellybean back to the xolo opus... you can use the broadcom multidownloader to flash the jellybean ROM of mobiistar. just remember to choose "english" as the language at the start. you can also get back to Xolo kit-kat using this article http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52815948#post52815948 so feel free to fool around with the multidownloader software as now you never have to worry about bricking the device. whatever you do you can still flash ROM into it.. guide for the multidownloader -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2747749
the mobiistar jellybean ROM is rootable. so enjoy .. btw i am from India .. but the same device is sold in vietnam also. so there is a lot of development coming from there,.
JUST REMEMBER TO BACKUP.. FLASHING USING THE TOOL WILL COMPLETELY ERASE ALL PERSONAL DATA ON YOUR PHONE. BUT IT WON'T ERASE SDCARD

i have a device q600s which is the same as q1000 opus.it has kitkat and i faced the same problems in rooting.i tried all vroot, kingo etc. but nothing worked.then i found ROOT GENIUS app.it rooted the device in no time.do try it once.all the best

I did mate it tries starting ADB and asks me if I want to download the drivers and when i Press yes nothing happens and it gives me the root option again
Also in my PC (windows 7 64bits) in device manager there are 3 spreadtrum which are marked with the yellow Exclamation mark
I tried updating the drivers I found from here and here but no changes happened
A9 has the exact same hardware as A1+ shall I try their root method?

No, I mean im confused on which one is the drivers, There Android drivers released by google in the android website which does not update the drivers, and then I have the other two drivers which I posted earlier which both shown the same result do you know from where I can get the drivers

Thats what I did first, the site shows nothing when you select a phone, doesnt matter which one you select it gives you no option to proceed

Z4root is not working for me also this is because karbonn has updated the software on the device so those who have bought the phone earlier are able to root the phone with z4root but those who bought the phone with updated software arent. The easiest way to identify the software update is looking at the gallery icon which is like default in the upgraded os and a redesigned status bar.

Hey u can try ICS Root Unlocker as i have rooted my phone with that.Search for it on google and download it.Now open the batch file and connect ur device in USB Debugging mode.Then follow the instructions.Hope it helps........

A company in the Philippines called Cherry Mobile sells a phone called "Burst". You can do more research on the matter, but I'm pretty sure it's the same phone as the Lava Xolo A500.

make sure you have installed the google usb drivers , and enabled usb debugging in dev options under settings ,
your phone is connected to the PC ( by USB)
1) download the zip
2) extract it
3) run the runme.bat
4)choose optiuon 1
5) select restore
6) device will reboot ( 2 times i think)

first flash cwm using flash tools and then go to cwm and update super su and su binary through zip files
and bang u r rooted
