Is it possible to restore the sms, from a backup done on the 7.5 version to a new custom version of 7.8 roms?
Another thing, is it now possible on these new roms to backup the sms on the phone?

1 Yes, I successfull restored my sms from wp 7.5 to 7.8 using smsbackup by shinichi
2 No, I don't find in wp 7.8 a way to make an sms backup till now...

I made a full backup using the "WP7 Update Cab Sender" method wich uses the Zune to do a full backup. But if i restore that over a 7.8 rom i'm going to do chea.....t don't i ???
Sorry for the place of the question but my intension was to see the development progress over the 7.8 rom on the sms backup issues.

I didn't tryed it yet.. but AFAIK restoring a backup from a build to another build is not reccommended due to possibly differnt structure. If you'll try please, post the results

Yep, this thread should be moved to the general...
I burned a 7.8 nokia rom and now restoring the backup done earlier in version 7.5....
Did not work, so i will try to do all the same but with a custom 7.5 rom at 8773 wich was my stock version.
Don't work neither...... start from the scratch oh dear....

as I know about this issue you can't restore because now your HTC changed to a NOKIA (ROM) so BACKUP methods can't find your phone and you will stuck in this ROM
But there is always a way !

Hi spider, but I understand that is a different rom version but if I rename to the same name and control the file directories I should be able to restore it.
Do the Wp7 backup do a system image or copy only data because in my case is 4gb of backup

Have you an idea in how to backup the user dictionary of the standard LG keyboard?
i have added tons of works and now, since I've reflashed with a new ROM (LOL v1.2) I'd like to restore a nandroid backup, copy the old dictionary and put it in a new ROM after a nandroid restore of the new ROM...
Any idea?

There is a thread in general, by ckpv5, in which he has shared stock nandroid backups. They are odexed and CID 044 (hence WWE asia). U can use them.
10x, but these nandroid backups don't work for me, because they have only english...
how can I add additional languages??

Thanks... just notice that for 4.0.4, the process is hidden. Need to find another way other than making a custom stock ROM.
Actually for what purpose that you need the stock odex ROM ? I' asking because if you expect to get JB OTA it won't work as JB OTA will check for CID not ROM version,
I'm trying to get back to stock, brandingfree germany or branded o2 germany. both work for me. actually my CID is for o2 germany, but there is no RUU for o2 germany...

I have x.xx.707.x Nandroid Backup
To make a ROM, doesn't matter for which region as long as you have the required files.
To make a ROM for 1.18.401.1... just simply use nlooooo's decrypted ROM.zip found here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2184113 and I also still have the odexed Desire_X_1_18_system.tgz uploaded by internall77 somewhere mid Dec 2012 which was my first base for DX ported ROM to my One V.

I'd great to make a ROM fro decrypted nlooooo's files but I don't know how to do it (I extracted system.img and tried to open but it said it was corrupted). If you could tell me how to do it it would be great (otherwise I'll look in the internet to see if I can manage by myself).
And about the purely sotck odexed 1.18.401.1, I'd rather prefer the one with standar language.

Sure...I don't mind sharing the knowledge.. hehe..
just use ext2explore-2.2.71.zip download from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ext2read/files/Ext2read Version 2.2 (Latest)/
1. Put the system.img in the same folder with ext2explore.exe
2. Run the ext2explore.exe - you'll get a pop-up cannot read disk - click ok
3. Click File - Open Image (or click the first icon)
4. Choose your system.img
5. Right click to save your system.img extracted to your preferred folder (the left pane) - the right pane if you want save one by one.
6. Click OK ... let it finish... you are done
@ckpv5: maybe it is better to make it multilanguage, so that more people can use it...

I'll make one stock odexed 1.18.401.1 with standard language and also I'll give the files to make it multi-language and how to make it multi-language.. it's an easy part anyone could do it.
I'll make this tomorrow as I'm going out shortly.

the first one works fine as the EFS Prof 1.7.14

Have a look on the market for an EFS backup app.
Many custom roms offer the option to backup EFS during install .

There needs to be a fully new rom to do that (like mysensedx), so some developer(s) needs to buy the device or changes the single sim and dual sim difference. But the developer(s) chooses if it's gonna happen or not.

The problem is that the desire x is our device and it's different to yours, and we don't like when other people ask questions for other terminals in our forum because this is the desire x forum, not the desire x dual SIM version... I think admins may have something to say here, right?.

I don't think really it matters, but theirs not android development section for the dual sim variant, if after December their is no extra section for them then when someone makes a thread then in the title it should say their android codename in the title (e.g. ours is protou) and that would save a lot of confusion.
I understand your wanting to keep the forum clean though..
Instead encourage people to ask in the device requests thread (i have twice and I don't own a dualsim Dx)
Maybe Mod feels different though.

Their Just hungry for a few custom Rom's, as much as we are hungry for new Roms/kernels/mods/etc (But the constant spamming in non relevant threads is a tad bit Annoying, that doesn't happen that much now though). but they have a lot less Dev support then us and If possible we should try to help them in any way possible. (+ I don't think a new forum is ever going to happen, maybe an extra android development section in our sub-forum is more likely.)

Hey guys it is not like that we force to other devs to create rom
Actually there are so many mods which is in themes section supported on dual sim also so i thnk is there any mod available to flash full sense
I never thought you and all devs in single rom section gets irritated when we post dual sim problems

Have you try making nandroid backup with the recovery that you have now ?
Is it working ? Will you take the risk of wiping the whole system and try to restore that nandroid backup ?
I can help to deodexed your stock ROM but what if restoring is not working ? How will you going to revive your device ?
If the nandroid backup and restore really work, then we can talk about modding like the full sense.

That's the reason why no one will be able to help to make ROM or mods without a device in hand. We just don't want to trouble you if the ROM is not working and you may be unable to restore your ROM.

Go ahead, try it...
From my experience of building recoveries, if backup works, there is 99% chance that restore will also work....
IF, and i repeat, IF it doesnt, then your guys should have an RUU handy which i doubt u guys have.
Blind deving a recovery for a device is not easy because it is the single most important tool you're going to use most often.
You can take a path to test recovery without causing chances of system wipe, BUT, be EXTREME careful
1. Boot to recovery
2. Select Backup, and COMPLETE backup of each partition.
3. Now, Wipe ONLY DATA, DALVIK, and CACHE (It is essentially a factory reset, so dont wory, you'll just lose contacts, sms n apps)
4. Now reboot, check whether factory reset was successful.
5. Boot to recovery again
6. Restore the data partition ONLY.
7. If it is Successful, Reboot, and check all apps are back or not...
8. If they are back, then celebrate, You can safely take nandroid backups and restore them, and maybe you get a prize = FULL SENSE:victory:
9. If it fails, you should probably leave the full sense dream for now
It is the safest path i can suggest. and negligible risk if at all.

From my experience of building recoveries, if backup works, there is 99% chance that restore will also work....
IF, and i repeat, IF it doesnt, then your guys should have an RUU handy which i doubt u guys have.
Blind deving a recovery for a device is not easy because it is the single most important tool you're going to use most often.
You can take a path to test recovery without causing chances of system wipe, BUT, be EXTREME careful
1. Boot to recovery
2. Select Backup, and COMPLETE backup of each partition.
3. Now, Wipe ONLY DATA, DALVIK, and CACHE (It is essentially a factory reset, so dont wory, you'll just lose contacts, sms n apps)
4. Now reboot, check whether factory reset was successful.
5. Boot to recovery again
6. Restore the data partition ONLY.
7. If it is Successful, Reboot, and check all apps are back or not...
8. If they are back, then celebrate, You can safely take nandroid backups and restore them, and maybe you get a prize = FULL SENSE:victory:
9. If it fails, you should probably leave the full sense dream for now

I have such a device too. I found no custom rom for it.
I have another problem. Did one of you have problems with updating the firmware? I am stuck on the FW from 2013 and I can not install the one from Archos Homepage -.-
And another strange thing: I only have 8 Megapixels! Whats wrong with my device? It is definetly an oxygen 50 (no b no c)!
I rooted it, but I just can not install this original FW.
Any help would be great

Hi !
I've the latest version of the firmware installed on my device. How do you try to install it ? On Archos's French website, it's written to download its software to install the firmware. And I check with Antutu Benchmark, and I've 13,4 Mpx. Maybe you should delete datas of your camera , or re-install it ?

Hi! Thx for your answer! I tried to install it like it is discribed on the archos Homepage. I put the *.zip in the root of my phone and it should automaticly start the installation.
My phone just dont recognizes this file and if I start the installation manually, it displays a failure during the installation.
I am new to android. So I dont know how to reinstall a firmware -.- Factoryreset didnt change anything.
It would be kind of you, if you could help me. The community is very small for our divice ;-(
If you want to know, I rooted it with frameroot 1.9.3

Hi again,
I have read about CWM recovery... Maybe this is a way to flash the update manually? So I downloaded "RomManager" and started it. This Program wants to install CWM recovery but my device is not supported. Maybe I am on a good way, but I am scared to go on. I dont want to destroy my phone.
Maybe you can help me with that or you have any other ideas?

Hi !
I think you should try to install it from the recovery mod... You have to shut down your phone then you will have to restart by pressing the volume down button AND the power button. Then you will arrive in a menu. Navigate with volume buttons to "install zip from sdcard" then select your .zip ROM...I'm not sure it will work...but it should

For CWM, I think ROM manager is not important...you have to put cwm file (.zip) at the root of your phone, and then install it as I explained above for the firmware... You can easily find the file on the web...but as you, I don't know what will happen if your phone is snot supported.

Thanks for your reply! I allready tried it via recovery, as you explained. The installation begins, but it ends in a failure: "invalid partition setting 20". It is realy strange. Can you dump your Rom and send it to me? Is there a way? Or do you have a recovery ROM or something like that? I am scared to install CWM, because its not supported

Well, I think you could search if someone had the error message you had on another device. I don't understand : could you explain what you want me to do with my firmware ?

I searched for it allready with no luck
If I try the OTA update via wifi, it says "networkconnection failed" and "System is up to date" (translated).
Forget my idea with your firmware. I think, it will not work, without custom bootloader
I just have no clue what I could do. I think the only way would be a custom bootloader, but I am too scared... And I think we will never get support for our phones -.-
Could you please check your "Build-Number" in settings -> about phone -> Build-Number (at bottom) and post it?

Yeahhh! Congrats! You have the FW I want to install ^^ How many points do you have in Antutu Bench? I have somewhat about 17000. I have to restart my phone once a day or some games crash... It would be nice if I coud install a backup from your FW ^^ But without custom bootloder...

Ah, ok. So my phoneporformence seems to be ok. I thougt there could be a problem, because my offlinemap in c:geo is very slow... My Nokia 808 is a lot faster with that. I thougt quadcore would be fast ^^
I have RAM Booster installed and it speeds ab the sytem a little, but not mach.

I think for extracting and installing your FW both of us need a custom bootloader... But maybe I'm wrong ^^ Rooting is easy, but this loaderthing is not ;(

Yeah we are both rooted so there is a solution...I think there is an app to do that And I will search a custom bootloader I've a little ram booster, but I know that we can swap ; it means that you let some space (maybe 512Mo) in your internal storage and it is adding to your RAM
But, I had a question, do you have any problem with network ? I mean that I enable or disable datas but it's not working..

I do not do anything with mobile internet on that phone, so I can not give a good answer to your question. But I can say everything is fine via wifi!

I find on a French website that unlocking bootloader allows you to install customs Roms but you won't be able to update firmware with a computer or OTA !

Have you ever installed ROM installer from Jrummy Apps ? Maybe you could install your .zip firmware In addition, maybe I will be able to backup my firmware to a .zip if yours is not valid

Im not a professional too, but maybe we can achive something together I had a ROM loader installed, but you need to install this CWM for doing something good with that. That was the point where I stopped ^^
