So I installed cm7 on my nook color and have it to my toddler. So basically I just want to know what the best way to download movies and YouTube videos for when we're on the road and unable to get wifi. Any entertaining games and interactive books anyone recommends? By the way he's 2 years old and loves playing ants and angry birds (although he has difficulties with the last).

Kid mode by zoodles is great. Lots of games and clips to watch. My 4 year old loves it. They always add new things. Just download movies on the computer and transfer them to the memory card

Use mxplayer it plays anything you throw at it. I generally dload 700mb divx and xvid for my toddler. Not the best quality but we are happy. Blu-Ray and DVD are too big.

Do you experience lag when watching videos... I tried a couple of movies I downloaded and the sound is easy behind the movement. The character will talk, then about a second later you hear the voice. Any tips?

The video app that is packaged with CM7 doesn't display the videos saved on my SD card. I also tried iMediaShare and I had the same problem. Is there an option or an app that will do a scan of the SD card for videos?

MX Video Player works the best for me.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the input.
Edit: It works fine to find my videos but still doesn't help with getting them to show in other apps.

Maybe they're on a not supported and weird format?
Yeah I was Googling a bit and saw something about native formats. Looks like I have to convert my videos if I want to use them.

Android market has movies you can rent or buy.
You can download crackle (I think that's how you spell it) from the market for free movies

I download a couple now gotta transfer them to photon. Btw which format do you use, vga or qvga? TIA
Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
Yeah, I think the market strictly does rentals.
And it doesn't work on a rooted device. You have to view it from the browser which isn't a great experience.
I haven't tried Crackle since they changed business models - but it used to be horrible.
Old School..............................
Ultimate DVD Ripper and a 2Tb HD (Actually, I have 2 of them. One External and one internal). I used to move what I wanted to Photon, and watch off/on as I pleased.
Now with ZumoCast.................. I can party with my movies whereever I go!!
BTW: Don't try to watch home movies Streaming. Download and then watch! (4G might be faster, did not try)
I play a lot of Xbox and watch a lot of YouTube. How do people record what they're doing on the TV and is there an app for this for phones? Basically what i want to do is record a game that im playing on my TV (Xbox 360) and get it on my phone to show a buddy.

I found out that I'd need to buy and install some sort of capture card in my PC to do this but is there anyway to connect my phone directly to my TV and capture what I'm watching on my TV? Maybe this should be moved to the regular question section.
Sent from my Samsung-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Depends on the game but call of duty mw3 has a built in recorder and saves the entire game for playback then if you like a segment you can upload from the game for sharing. Hope that helps.

A phone cannot capture a televisions video input. You need the capture card and then move the captured video to your phone.

I need a music app that can handle 200+ albums, 2500+songs, and not kill my battery.
I love PowerAmp but it seems to kill my battery and i need my phone to start lasting more than 2 hours off the charger.

Hit submit to fast....
I don't need album art or any fancy options.
I just want it to play music, an eq would be nice but not a deal breaker.

Is Google play music not an option? I have 25000 songs on the cloud and like 5 albums on device. Switched to play almost a year ago. haven't looked back since. I've tried all of the top players

I'm looking for an app that you can watch movies for free. I found one called peliculas hd. But, the picture doesn't come through really clear with my mhl/hdmi adapter. Any suggestions? Please nobody say Netflix. LOL. I would have to be a caveman if I wasn't aware of Netflix.

+INFINITY!!!!
You can try the official version @ xbmc.org, it's an apk that's installed normally. Or you can go HERE and find a "nightly" community optimized version. I use the latter and I've no complaints.
tv portal in the app store is coming up!
