Hi everyone,
I have problems with my x10 mini - probably there is issue with bootloader - phone doesn't rised after reflashing stock FW.
Let me start from the beginning:
1) I wanted to have MiniCM10 on my phone
2) I unlocked bootloader (procedure taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254225)
3) I flashed nAa jb kernel (procedure taken from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1837135)
4) and then problems occur
5) My xperia catched a bootloop (stuck on nAa animation)
6) I flashed stock kernel (using Flashtool)
7) My xperia catched a bootloop (stuck on SE animation)
8) I did factory reset and wipe cache in recovery X - did not help
9) I flashed stock ROM (using Flashtool)
10) xperia powered on, vibrated, blinked for a few times and went to sleep...
Currently I cannot get into flashmode (back button+USB in) so I cannot use either flashtool to reflash the rom or SEUS (or SMUS now).
Is there any other way to get xperia into flash mode? Is there any way to bring my phone to life? Currently, my computer recognizes x10 as x8, and flashtool gives info that it is in MTP mode.
I have experence in flashing Samsung (i5700 and i9000), although this tiny phone is quite a challange
Thank you for your help.

Are you sure you've got an x10mini (2010 device), because these phones don't have MTP mode.

Where did you get stock kernel and stock rom from?
Does it still vibrate and turn itself off when you press the power-button?

I cannot check the sources at this moment, although I followed links posted here (xda).
I have made a check this morning (I had it plugged to charger for whole night) and it was still asleep, although I felt like it was little warmer.
Any ideas how to help?

Can you check your model-number? It's on the sticker if you take your back-cover off.

Well, if your phone turns off by itself waiting for battery-death doesn't do any good, especially since you just charged it all night Could take months...
Start it up with usb connected already and flashtool ready to flash (with the popup on screen), as soon as the screen-backlight ligths up press power- and home-buttons together and press the back-button when the light goes off again.

Well, I guess, the first time you flashed the JB kernel, you tried to run it on stock ROM... that doesn't work.
Don't know if you did the formats required for the jb-rom, but that would have prevented the stock rom from running properly.
And maybe the cache and dalvik-cache were still filled with old junk from a previous ROM, preventing the new ones from starting properly.
one of these, or a combination maybe... i'm not sure...

Today I finally got the xRecovery to work after 3 days.
Flashed my X10 Mini Pro with xCyanogenMini v10, phone now stuck in bootloop.
Tried to plug it into SESU, but it says i already have the latest firmware and there is no option to repair or force reflash.
How do you refresh your phone or to fix the bootloop problem?

Hope this helps
Plug your phone into the usb, hold down back while pressing power and menu and release only the power and menu button when the phone reboots (keep in the back button until the flash starts)
There has to be a fresh reflash option, the bottom right of the screen
Wasn't that for x10 mini (non-pro) only? I read that method. But doesn't seem to work, or i was having problem pressing the power and home and back at the same time lol, was kind of awkward to press 3 buttons AND plug in the USB cable.
also my phone doesn't seem to charge power anymore when i plug in the cable hum...
Let me try it and get back to you, thanks a lot.
Doesn't seem to work, SEUS just say i have the latest firmware. I don't think it matters whether i use the HOME + PWR button, because i pulled the battery before and then just do the regular USB cable + BACK on SEUS before and it also detected my phone, but just won't flash it.
Question though, when i plug the USB cable first, my phone goes into charging mode (orange light), am i suppose to do that HOME+PWR+BACK method when the phone is on charging mode??
Or should i do it on SEUS, failed to flash -> went into some non-charging state (with green light).
Did you look in the bottom right hand corner of the screen when you got the "latest FW" screen??
If the phone is charging while connected to your PC USB you can do the Home+Power+Back method but if you can just pull the battery and the Back thats fine too.
I'm not sure what you mean by the non charging state though, does the led flash every 2 seconds or so when plugged into a power source? If so then your battery might be too flat and SEUS might prevent you from flashing until theres enough charge (40% should be fine) that is, if you've looked in the bottom right of the screen to see if the "Install" button is there, please confirm this as it can seem inconspicuous.
Ok after much digging on google, i've finally found a way to re-flash my phone. Here is how...
- Download FlashTool 2.8.0
- Download the UK 2.1 firmware for Mini Pro
- Extract the UK 2.1 firmware into a folder, say for example: FlashTool/UK_2.1_minipro
- Run FlashTool -> Advanced -> Bundle creaction
- Point to your FlashTool/UK_2.1_minipro
- Select all the files on the left panel and add them to the right side
- On top right, type in something in the 3 text fields, doesn't really matter what
- Hit Next and select "X10 Mini Pro"
- Wait for it to finish building the bundle
- Disconnect the USB cable if your phone is connected
- Hold BACK and plug the USB cable
- Hit Flash on your FlashTool and select the newly created Bundle earlier
- Wait for it to finish flashing
- Reboot your phone and you will be able to boot back into your phone
- Now run SEUS, and do the same thing to re-flash your phone back to the latest OEM firmware
- You can then decide to flash it to whatever ROM you want after (you will need to go through all the root/xRecovery/busybox/etc/ again)
Cheers!
Many thanks for christophermaisch on helping me along all these times across a few threads!!!
Jeez that sux! I've never had that before, thats where my knowledge runs out I'm afraid. Have you looked on the Mini Pro forums? See if nobodyatall of owain can help you, they port ROMs so they would have the most knowledge.
Sorry man, good luck
Yup yup, i am going there now. I first stumble this X10 Mini forum (without Pro) from google search, and i thought this is the only forum about it lol...
I just found out last night that there is another Pro sub-section hahaha...
Thanks dude!
Cool dude, glad you got it sorted! I know now for the future too.

Works for me...
I just installed busybox and then my phone is rebooting again and again!!
What can I do to stop it?
I don't know how to boot it into recovery. I did it once (before I installed busybox) by clicking the back button when it's starting, but it's not working now.
I tried to do it from quick boot (while my phone stays on for a minute or less) but it doesn't work.
I have xperia x10 rooted to android 2.2 with cyanogenmod 6
thanks in advance

Just a tip for you on this one
Disconnect the USB from the PC and plug it into the phone, do the steps above but at step 4, plug the USB (already connected to the phone) into your PC its so much easier.
I fixed it..thank you guys
I tried to flash nAa kernel(unlocked bootloader successfully before) with flashtool and flastool said it succeed. When i reboot my phone it comes up with nAa kernel screen and reboots again. It goes into an infinite loop within rebooting phone, only showing nAa kernel splash screen, nothing more and reboot. I can reach to cwm recovery. I flashed the latest MiniCM7-2.2.0 custom rom and wiped user data/cache. Same problem remained.
I decided to go back the original stock kernel and rom via flashtool. You know the rest; you select the stock files then press ok then it says "oh, ungplug usb, power off, hold back button and plug in usb again". I did this steps several times but flashtool cant recognize my phone. Not even a blink. The weird thing is, when i power off my phone and plugin usb(not doing the holding back button thing) the green light is on(it is not offline charging i know it) same as it goes into flashmode. I tried flashtool again with hope but couldnt recognized phone again. Even S1 tool cant recognize my phone. It seems completly lost!
I tried hopelessly with Pc Companion and get the same result. I found a post about "Gordons Gate Driver" but couldnt get any result with that. No tool can recognize my phone in flashmode, in normal mode(talking about the infinite rebooting state, not even a blink from flashtool).
Im out of ideas, even out of google . Is there someone to provide me with new idea? Or is there something im missing? Please help.
Thank you for reading my adventure hope someone helps.

Ok, thanks for the info. I will be carefull about that.
Dear All,
I have a Sony Xperia U (European).
I used the update service to first competely update the phone to stock 4.0.4 (6.1.1.B.1.54)
Then I did the procedure to get the key and unlock the bootloader. That all worked fine.
Then I tried to do the root of the backup and restore. But I understand that doesn't work anymore.
So I found the following:
1. Flash ics 6.1.1.b.1.10 Kernel
2. Root with flashtools
3. Flash ics 6.1.1.b.1.54 Kernel
I have the drivers installed from the Flashtool folder. And the fastboot mode and flashboot drivers work in order.
After flashing the older kernel with the Flashtool the phone reboots and after that I when it boots everything become distorted and unresponsive.
I can see part of the OS and try to touch and 'something' will happen. But it doesn't seem to be normal.
The only thing I can do then is use the flashtool to relock the bootloader and then the update service to reflash back to stock again.
I have first search the whole subforum and read everything. But I can't seem to fine something about this.
Am I missing something?
The screen does go dark and awful using the older kernel. Just let it take its time to load and u can just about make out the screen to use the root tool. Although.... If you're bootloader unlocked just fastboot an auto rooting kernel

Phone Died?
Well for some reason the phone doesn't turn on anymore.
I thought I 'overdrained' it, so I put it all night long to charge it. But this morning still the same and it won't turn on.
The small red led just right of the camera lits up when I connect the charger so he sees something but what?
Cannot get in flash or fastboot mode. However sometimes I see the phone out of itself turn on the illumination bar (green) for just a few seconds.
The phone itself does nothing. But I'm thinking of a brick, unless someone else has some ideas?
Take these steps...may help

Try this...
1. Take out the battery and sim and leave it for minutes...then take in the sim and then battery.
2. connect the phone to a charger and wait for minimum 25 seconds and see what happenes...if some positive response you get...leave it charging as it is for some time minimum half hour.
[Before doing 3rd step download latest stock firmware 6.1.1.C.1.0 for your phone.(Please be sure for thats a stock original firmware)] - Search It-> [Stock ROM] Firmware 6.1.1.C.1.0 FTF ICS Xperia U - T-Mobile (Croatia)
3. connect your phone with the pc in flashmode and flash this firmware.
4. After flashing Restart the phone and wait for the setup and then you get then the power off button on your mobile screen, power off it.
5. Download TheBrains Recovery - Search it [Its a kernel having CWM Recovery Prerooted]
6. Now connect your phone in fastboot mode [While connecting your phone to pc press and hold Volume Up button]
7. Select a kernel to flash [Kernel that you downloaded just now]
8. After flashing unplug usb and restart your phone, when Sony logo appears and phone vibrates press Volume Up button again and again then you will come to CWM Recovery Menu.
9. Then from recovery wipe cache. and wipe dalvich cache [In advance option]
10. Now restart your phone and wait...and leave it for 5 mins.
11. Now your phone is updated and prerooted safely and smoothly... and yes ready for installing any stock based ROM or Custom ROM[which are based on latest C.1.0 firmware].

Unfortunately I cannot do step 3.
He just will not go into flashmode, tried different cables but that doesn't work. He won't go into fastboot either.
I've taken out the battery and sim for 5 days. Just to be sure . But I'm thinking it's bricked. This has never happened to me before.
I have unlocked and flashed many phones (mostly HTC's and Samsungs), but this is a first with Sony, hmm and first time a brick.

The only thing I can do then is use the flashtool to relock the bootloader and then the update service to reflash back to stock again.
I have first search the whole subforum and read everything. But I can't seem to fine something about this.
Am I missing something?

I had the same problem while rooting my phone too.
Follow These:
1.Install the latest PC Companion on your computer. It auto updates if you have it installed on your computer.
2.Download the kernels 6.1.b.1.10 and 6.1.b.1.54 and Flashtool. Make sure you have usb debugging on even before you flash the kernels.
3. With the help of flashtool flash your phone on .10 kernel reboot. The launcher might turn black and become unresponsive so enable usb debugging before flashing itself.
4. Start your phone after flashing .10 and connect to your computer.
5.Start Bin4ry v17 or v18. It a cmd file developed by a dev on xda. Just search for it. Rooting via flashtool wont work. Use Bin4ry
6. Press 1 and follow the steps. after the phone finishes rooting it it'll restart and confirm it.
7. Switch off your phone and flash 54 kernel
8. Pretty sure it'll work!
Worked for me! Hope it helped
Hi guys,
I have mk16i(xperia pro), and installed latest lx cm11 build. Then, I tried dark's kernel. But I wanted to revert to the stock kernel.
Now at that point, i couldn't enter the fastboot or flash mode anymore. The OS running w/o any problem. But i'm stuck with the dark's kernel(which is very battery unfriendly,10 hour standby)
When i try to connect the phone to PC while pressing menu(or back button) the LED blinks for miliseconds and the phone continues switching on normally (enter OS).
I know it is my fault to install nonstock kernel but I really need help. If anyone experienced this issue, it will be great to hear the advice.
Thanks in advance
Try taking out the battery for a few seconds, reinserting it, pressing the button for fastboot mode (I don't know which one you have to use for the xperia pro) and then you connect it to your PC while keeping the button pressed. This should work

Thanks for the reply.
I tried it many times. But no chance... The LED blinks then the phone goes into OS.
I tried to reboot fastboot via adb commands. Again same result. Directly goes to OS.
Flashtool also stucks at "Device will soon enter fastboot mode" nothing happens. Phone stays on...
Is it hw fault? I will be very disappointed if so I replaced its digitizer recently by paying too much money.) It was expensive when i bought it also... I cant stand buying a new phone these times... pff too many issues...
Sounds weird. I have made the experience that it sometimes helps to take the battery out, then keep pressing multiply and long the power button. Wait ~10 minutes. Insert the battery and try again!
Hopefully it helps!
Otherwise could maybe be kernel related. Try to flash another one (with recovery).

We are not able to flash kernel thru recovery in XPeria devices i think.
That is the main problem actually. I m stuck with this kernel...

i think you done it allready but better than have adead phone:
- re check if all drivers installed (android sdk with its google driveer, flashtool drivers)
put out battery , put in & hold volume down while plugging cabel in. (if led not stays blue, pull out abttery, put in & reconnect but hold other button like menu key) --> try all buttons
i cant imagine flashing darks kernel broke yr bootloader. theres sth wrong with your machine / setup / whatever.

Yea my fault... my main phone's a galaxy s3
If nothing works, you can still "emergency" flash a stock firmware with SEUS, or not?

if he unlocked his bootloader DONT USE SEUS! --> you get a brick...

Thanks for the answers. Yes unlocked bootloader.
Since the device doesn't boot into "flash" mode also, i am not able to flash ftf through flashtool or any firmware via SEUS.
I had managed to enter fastboot mode once!
Happened with USB3.0 port via "adb reboot-bootloader" command.
Still, I am not getting into fastboot again...
I will inform you, thanks guys.
EDIT: I did it once again thru adb in recovery and flashed a stock kernel. Let me see the battery drain is due to kernel or some hw damage.
I am sure hw is damaged...
Ultimately solved...
After i am able to enter fastboot mode via some funny method described above, i erased system partition and flashed kernel.sin of the official .587 ftf file of Sony Xperia Pro.
Now the device is able to enter flash mode and fastboot mode via normal ways...
Thanks guys...
EDIT: I dont understand how is it related to kernel? I thought that bootloader files are damaged which i cannot correct them.
There are many .sin files in the stock .ftf which i cannot flash any of them without flash mode.(i was able to enter fastboot mode only)

Guys please help. I am very confused now: When i connect the phone to charger(AC) when the phone is OFF, the phone tries to enter flash mode!?! Led blinks green then the phone continues to open and offline charging animation comes as usual.
Sometimes the phone connects the charger in flash mode! But doesnt connect to usb in flash mode or fastboot mode. I know it is a bit confusing but that is the situation.
Thanks...
