[Q] Diasarmed Toaster Rom with S-On - HTC EVO 3D

Hi,
I'm asking here as I can't post in developement itself (2 Posts only)
Is it possible to install this rom with S-On? I had to switch to KingCobra, because DT was bootlooping. But KingCobra seems to be dead.
Sorry if this was already answered before.

You cannot flash DT with S-On because you will need to downgrade your hboot to a compatible one (I don't know if you're CDMA or GSM). That's why it is bootlooping.

GSM. Thanks. Is revolutionary still in active developement for Hboot 1.53xx? Most downgrades seem to be a pain in the ass

I do not know if you know about this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1743466 Follow method A,B and D to get S-off. But its a great alternative if you don't want to wait on revolutionary to make a s-off tool.

Will doing this on son work ????? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906172

You cannot flash in bootloader if you are S-On.

Some s-on users it worked...see link

It is a bit ambiguous though. if you see the last page praveenkv1988 says he actually did the wire trick before trying this. No one actually says he did this with s-on they just started from there
If you try it you'll have to do it on your own risk. its untested so you should tread lightly

Not sure if you can downgrade the HBOOT but I dont see why you would need to. If it is because you need root follow these guides. Even if you already have a working goldcard make it again mine was working for other phones but wouldnt work for this.
Part 1
Part 2
Once you have finished them you should have HBOOT 1.01 with Android 2.1 full root with clockworkmod so you can flash any rom you would like.
thanks a lot
I get the way to root,I only want to know how to downgrade the HBOOT
English is not my mother tongue,so my English is not so good
pardon
For now no way to downgrade HBOOT 1.01 to HBOOT 1.00 or 0.43 .....
We wait for a solution ....

Now we have a "BECOUSE"...
AlphaRev has made S-OFF for our legends here.
alpharev . nl (without spaces)
But this is only possible with hboot 0.43
We will wait...
S-OFF is only really useful for real devs, not leaches like the rest of us.
S-OFF is good for anyone who wants to change things in system..no more signing zips

Seems you don't need to sign zips for flashing with ROM Manager. Works for me anyway.
I don't have much need for S-OFF myself -- the only thing I can think of is that it should let adfree android work right after flashing CM. Saves me the extra reboot to flash my symlink-etc-hosts.zip..

Yeah, I know, I know. It's just me being lazy end letting ROM Manager do everything for me. Download through ROM Manager and then flash both zips from recovery might be the most convenient.
(..or just S-OFF, which I plan to do when I get back from vacation )
waiting and waiting. We should be pacient.
I don't even own a Legend, but I've lurked around the Desire, Desire Z and G2 forums - and I own a Nexus One.
I've noticed that procedures for downgrading the HBOOT on these devices seem to involve making a modification to the misc partition, which then fools the phone into accepting a RUU/PASSIMG/etc that downgrades HBOOT.
I see here a procedure that downgrades from the Froyo OTA using a similar idea:
http://android.modaco.com/content/htc-legend-legend-modaco-com/323201/downgrading-from-froyo-ota/
But the resulting HBOOT is still 1.001.
Could this method be adapted to accept a RUU that will roll back the HBOOT even further?
Nope. Current HBOOT (1.x) does not allow to fool itself and this is the main problem. You may play with misc and downgrade rom, but HBOOT remains the same. The only 0.43 version of HBOOT allows downgrading.

Sorry, but this is not the way to run up your post count.
Maybe if you said what you have installed, what you are trying to do, and what you have tried so far someone could actually help you.
And there's no need to open two threads simultaneously unless what you are looking for in each is totally unrelated, and there's no way to tell that at this point.

i relocked my bootloader to go back to stock and it updated the bootloader to hboot 1.53.00007 and now i cant install jb and sense 4 roms

Relocking the bootloader will not update it to a different version. If you did the relock to flash an RUU that will update the bootloader to the stock level associated with the RUU and you will have to HTC unlock it, flash a custom recovery, then root the stock ROM or flash a custom rooted ROM.
I suggest rooting the stock ROM then doing the JuopunutBear wire trick to gain S-OFF before flashing custom ROM's to make everything much easier. There are guides to do all these thing that you can find if you use the advanced search mode for these forums and scan only titles for the topics you need.
ramjet73
I guess people should learn to give as much info as possible
Well here is the link to downgrade your hboot to 1.49 which on GSM phones, allows you to flash any romhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=32032629

Click on "HTC EVO 3D" next to the "home" icon and right below "PORTAL" in the upper left hand corner of this page, then search titles as indicated in my last post. You should have enough information to get started for what you need to do.
Sorry, but if you can't find what you need at this point then you probably shouldn't be worried about root and S-OFF.

Does the HBOOT Downgrade Tool work for ICS 2.89?

I got a new EVO because my old one had problems, and It came with ICS 2.89 pre-installed
Anyways, does the HBOOT Downgrade Tool work with it, or do I have to use the Downgrade Tool?

Just do the wire trick and flash a lower boot via recovery. So much easier.
Huh?
If you meant downgrade tool vs wire trick, either will work. From my understanding, you would have to brick your phone twice if you use the downgrade tool. Afaik, the wire trick is easier. Ramjet had an easy to follow guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1889438

Some have gotten it to work with the 2.89.651.2 build installed, but you have to brick your phone twice to do it. See closeone's thread in the stickies of the Development Forum.

More information? I'm going to guess you flashed a rom that's incompatible with your hboot. It hard to say though without any information on your phone or the rom you're having trouble with.

You're new here, so welcome! Let me tell you what we need to know. Firstly, are you rooted? S-on or s-off? What hboot are you running? What ROM are you trying to flash?
I have evo S-ON HBOOT 1.53.007, and i can sucessfully flash 60% of roms at xda (to flash that 60% you must have 4extrecovery touch with SmartFlash). downgrading HBOOT is too risky

If you do bootloader unlock, downgrading HBOOT lasts for 4 secs or something like that xD. And you can install 100% (149% in Russia xD) of ROMs..

If your in a boot loop, just flash another ROM.
Or, you can go S-OFF. It's quite easy if you follow the wire trick.

I would do what coal said and do the wire trick. It's pretty easy and far less scary than bricking your phone on purpose.
This video is good to watch and you'll see how simple it really is.

[Q] Downgrade software/hboot dunno

Hey, guys.
Recently I wanted to root and flash a custom rom on my EVO 3D. I did pretty great on my previous phone (HTC Desire/Bravo). Had tried almost every single ROM (4.0+)
I looked on the internet for the info to root EVO 3D. In the result I got *UNLOCKED* but S-On. I don`t know if I just missed that part or it wasn`t included. Superuser didn`t worked, couldn`t flash any recovery any way I wanted. Basiclly I got dry butt-fked.
Now I am *RELOCKED*
SHOOTER_U PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT - 1.53.0007
eMMC-BOOT.
The problem is, that all tutorials for flashing a custom ROM requires GingerBread instead of ICS. How can I downgrade to GB? Or maybe I can root, turn S-Off and flash recovery whitout downgrading to GB?

I was on ICS as well and was able to flash a custom/rooted rom. For most of the most ROMs you need to downgrade your HBOOT though. It doesn't work with modern ROMs.

Yep, he is right. It doesn't matter if you are on GSM or CDMA, the wire trick works for both Just look at the picture (which is btw. also in the step-by-step instruction) and follow the steps in the tutorial. It might take a while before you get the timing right, but it'll work!
