Hey Devs,
Couldn't find anything about this online, so I decided to post here.
I own a Xoom tablet and an Atrix 4G handset,
I've just gotten the OTA 4.1.2 update for my Xoom MZ604
and I thought: Hey The Xoom and Atrix 4G have similar specs...and just maybe someone could port the stock Xoom rom to the Atrix
I'm not a dev so I might be missing the point, but hey it would be cool if it worked

Over the course of Sunday (9/4/2011) I learned that it is possible to almost flawlessly port Atrix 4G ROM's (excluding CM7!) to Droid X2. They are fully functional minus some cosmetic changes that need to be made for CDMA/Verizon. Over the course of the next week I will be porting some ROM's to Droid X2. Basically, go have a look at the Atrix 4G Development Forum. That will give you some kind of an idea. Anything based on Blur 2.3.3 and up and Nvidia Tegra 2 250 AP20H chips seems to be game. The Atrix works well because it is practically the same phone as the Droid X2.

Does that mean no custom roms? Also i hate to say/ ask, why no cm7?

how would this work? i thought that everything had to be signed for it to run?
Would that mean it's possible to unlock the boot loader too?
Checking out the Atrix threads I came across this...

Would that be possible to bake into an X2 ROM? I'm not quite sure if the webtop function on the atrix is software or hardware based.

No. The bootloader is signed. Even the international [Atrix] users couldn't use the ATT/USA bootloader, one had to be made specifically for them.

Nitroglycerin33 is who he is talking about. He is good developer. He has created roms for couple Moto devices. He is the creator of Eclipse rom. He help are community by making the Unofficial Razr Bootstrap. He made the only deodex rom for the CDMA droid Razr. He help many people get the OTA update to pass install. I say he is pretty important for use "VZW Droid Razr" i give him props nd hope to see more awesome work from him

Nitro saved my butt from the agony of not being able to accept the OTA due to some fouled modding. I saw this a while ago but man am I glad you guys got him one. I hope Nitro knows how much his work is appreciated.
I have ran his roms on many phones with no complaints. The guy is a straight up beast. Eclipse is the only rom you would ever need. And now if the fastboot files turn out to be legit...Stand back cause **** is about to get nasty.
He did some pretty cool stuff with the fascinate as well. His themes were really tight

Last rumors I heard were from a dude here that posted about this in this section probably close to a week ago about this may happen. The thread got closed

I saw that one, but nobody considered it credible. I'm wondering if anyone has been checking cheesecake instead of playing with the latest Kitchen Sink / Paranoid / CM9 and other ICS builds (I'm trying Paranoid right now).
The other thread got closed due to a few numnutz not behaving.
Long story short, the last we heard was Q3 for ICS on the Atrix...

Makes sense that you'd see an Atrix 2 leak by now. It uses the same OMAP 4430 chipset as the droid RAZR, so it was probably just a matter of porting.

I check cheesecake pretty often. But there's nothing up yet. And the server that usually yields goodies is offline at the moment. If/when there is, expect me to make a topic.

I've searched but can't find a good howto for cheesecake on the Atrix 4G. Does anyone have a guide for those unfamiliar to the process?
Nevermind, I found it. Don't know why I couldn't find it before....

It would be great to check available updates on the test servers, but it seems that we need to reverse-engineer the protocol
I don't think we will get a leak at least within a month. Atrix 2 and RAZR share the same platform, so Atrix 2 will get official ICS earlier. Also, I think ICS release date for Atrix highly depends on NVIDIA. There is no Tegra2-based phone (Atrix, Captivate Glide, Optimus 2X, Galaxy R) that already has leaked ICS build, and only two of them (Atrix, Optimus 2X) have possible release dates (both in Q3)
Last I read, and I can't for the life of me find the article now, but it said Atrix 4G would be late Q3, so still a wee while yet. Im thinking September, but really its all speculation at the end of the day.

in my nation (italy) ICS is in evaluation... And maybe it will not see light...
But, if ICS will be in USA... i can use that version in italy?

AFAIK, no. Kernel will be different, as the Atrix ATT is not like the Atrix INT.
So if there's exists a chance that it will work on int, only kernel devolopers might know.

If somebody posts a Cwm version of the update containing a ramfix, then international users can install it.

and as i heard from my sources the razr, atrix 2, atrix 4g got test builds on the same day, of course that's not a reliable information, but cheesecake worth a try

Hello everyone
Not new to rooting and romming. Plan on doing a bunch of reading and will make every attempt to refrain from asking repetitive questions. But was hoping i could get a few points in the right direction. I am currently running 3.2.
Is the jump to ICS worth it? My phone device is bionic and ICS basically turned a crappy bionic into a superphone...im hoping for a similar advancement from honeycomb to ICS.
Is there a particular " rom list" short list a few of you fine folks could recommend?
Any pitfalls to watch out for or a good thread I should read. Im going to check out all the stickies before I get going.

Cool, thanks. Is JB buggy? I know it is on the Bionic but that's with a locked bootloader and there is only one (I think) example of 4.1 in that space.

Is there Any Possibilities that we can use Some other OS like IOS/WIndows8/TIzen/Ubunto/Firefox in our Motorola Photon with all things Working?.........
If theres a working kernel for it to work on the photon then yes but i haven't heard anything about anyone portung any of those OS to the photon, you can check though
