After searching high and low for a simple but eye-appealing stock quote and stock chart utility that I could use with ThrottleLauncher, I finally gave up and put one together myself. I call it ThrottleStocks.
I would like to acknowledge APBilbo for creating ThrottleLauncher. It ROCKS! I would like to also acknowledge the "PocketStock Center" work over on TreoCentral.com which helped give me the idea.
Release History:
V1.3 (28 Jan 09)
- changed chart source to www.marketwatch.com
- added week, month, 3month, 6month, 1year, and 2year stock charts
- added ability to edit stocks you've already entered into the database.
Important: If you are updating from a previous version then you will need to edit each of the stocks in your portfolio and change the chart stock symbol from the old Google one to the new www.marketwatch.com symbol.
V1.2 (26 Jan 09)
- fixed path to Mortscript and stock download scheduling
V1.1
- tried to improve error handling with stock downloading
Pre-Requistes:
1. You need ThrottleLauncher 0.9.6 installed (obviously)
2. The installation instructions below assume you are using APBilbo's TouchFlo3D theme that he distributes with ThrottleLauncher
3. You need Mortscript installed
4. You have the Segui fonts installed in your Windows\Font directory. If you don't you can find the fonts attached here. Unzip and place in windows\font directory.
To install:
1. Extract the attached zip file into your ThrottleLauncher\Setups\TouchFlo3D directory.
2. Start ThrottleConfig and Configure TouchFlo3D. On the new Stocks page choose whether you want the "Advanced" or "Basic" layout.
3. Enable the new "Stock" page in the TouchFlo3D config. Save and reload ThrottleLauncher
4. When ThrottleLauncher restarts you'll see a blank Stock page with buttons along the bottom. The first thing you'll need to do is click on the Settings button (it looks like a gear). This will open up the stocks config menu where you can perform the following;
a) Setup stock quote download schedule. Set the start and end time to download quotes, and the interval in minutes. Note that stocks will only be downloaded on week-days.
b) Enabled/Disable Stock Intra-Day chart downloads. If you are using the "Advanced" layout in ThrottleLauncher you'll need to Enable intra-day chart downloading. If you just want the basic layout you can leave chart downloading disabled and save on data downloading
c) Add stock. Here you'll be asked for the stock name, and the stock symbols. Note that currently it asks for both the stock symbol on Yahoo and on Google. The reason for this is that the quotes are downloaded from Yahoo while the charts are downloaded from Google and the stock symbols are not always the same on both sites. You'll be asked how many stocks you own and how much you paid for them...you can leave this blank as currently this data is not used.
d) Delete stock. Enter the stock symbol and it will delete it from the database.
e) Edit stock. Enter the stock symbol of the stock you want to edit...this will let you then modify its name and stock symbols.
f) Force chart refresh on exit. By default the 1month to 2 year stock charts are only downloaded once per day. If you select this option it will force an update of all the stock charts.
g) Exit. When you exit the setup it will automatically start a download of the stock data.
5. After the stock data has downloaded you will likely need to restart throttlelauncher in order for the stock page to display correctly.
Known Bugs/Issues:
This is a work in progress. The known issues are;
1. When stock charts are downloading there is a progress window that appears. I don't know yet how to get rid of this...but am looking into it.
2. ThrottleLauncher is currently unable to have a dynamic list. Currently the stocks.xml file is hardcoded to have 9 stocks displayed on the page. If you have more or less stocks in your portfolio you may want to edit the stocks.xml file and adjust the file accordingly. Look for the text in="1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9" and add or remove numbers accordingly. Note that there are two spots in the xml file where this is used. Hopefully this will get fixed in a future release of ThrottleLauncher
3. The stock tabs along the right side of the screen (in advanced layout) do not update their color correctly. This is a TL bug that is said to be fixed in the next TL release
4. Clicking on the stock chart is suppose to take you to the yahoo web-page for the stock. This doesn't work correctly at the moment.
Nice work, looks great!
my god this is great
there are people in this forum who're like Logitech. everything they do is impeccable.
one request tho.. and i hope it's doable.
is there a chance you could convert it to a regular today plugin so that people who're not using throttle launcher can use it?
This is awesome. great job!
Installed this and this causes my throttlelauncher not not load.

Sorry!
A couple things to check;
1) You are using the TouchFlo3D theme that APBilbo released with TL v0.9.6
2) Prior to enabling TL you ran TL config and configured TouchFlo3D (enable Stock Tab)
3) Try running the StockConfig.mscr mortscript before enabling TL... It can be found in TouchFlo3D\Throttle Stocks\mscr
Ant plans to port this to the VGA Iphone theme?? The homepage has room for two new programs...
Thanks
24 hr Review
Using Hermes 6.0 and TL 9.6 and no problems whatsoever , well done! It runs faster than my shares are falling and looks great (only used advanced version to date). Incidentally I did not install to TouchFlo3d but straight into my own custom theme yet it still worked ok except I lost my own custom footer icons, I can still see the xml so am placing them into black n blue tonite. Thanks again
I've updated the mortscripts to try and make the stock download process more tolerant of errors (particularily timeouts). See 1st post for update.
I still haven't figured out how to stop Mortscript from display the download progress window...
I've updated the theme and scripts to now include week, month, 3month, 6month, 1year, and 2year stock charts. See the first post for the new v1.3
Version 1.3
Working very well, a good improvement, thanks.
thanks to you Great Job man!!!
Your program looks good from description but I couldn't install it correctly since I am using Throttle Launcher 1.0 RC1 (the config.xml doesn't work). Any plans to upgrade to work for TL 1.0? I would love to try and get it working. Or perhaps you could guide me in tweaking so it will work for TL 1.0. I am newbie at this so any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you use the TouchFlo2d theme, the Stock tab is already there. You can download that theme in the ThrottleLauncher website.
stock quotes are real time or 20 min delay?

Stock quotes are from finance.yahoo.com
Stock charts are from www.marketwatch.com
These are not real-time sources. I'm not sure what the delay is.
great prog man! any further with hiding the update window? could it be changed to smaller graphic MB introduce a container for the update process? Keep up the good work man!
UPDATE Feb 14: And because its FEB 14, here is the updated Arabic files that should work on ERE 27 and CM5 Beta 5 (and hopefully future releases as well): http://arabicandroid.googlecode.com/files/update_nexus_mt_signed_ERE27.zip
I can also confirm that it works on ERE36B as well.
Thanks Ayman.
Note: mirror is also available on my site.
UPDATE Feb 4: <IMPORTANT> Please don't update for the moment if you have moved to the new Google update!
I can confirm that the update file is no longer working, please don't install it if you have updated your phone with the recent update from Google. Your phone will freeze while booting up at the Nexus logo.
The only solution for now is the half solution which I wrote about a while back. Its only about replacing the font and getting the Arabic letters unconnected.
Please visit this link: http://dumpytips.blogspot.com/2009/09/easier-fix-for-half-solution.html
There are instructions in there on how to install the font via an update file, or through the adb commands if you wish.
UPDATE Jan 22: Newer update file in links below.
UPDATE Jan 21: Thanks to Ayman, we can now read Arabic virtualy everywhere in Android 2.0 or N1 in our case via a newly introduced library file. I tested it in Gmail, SMS and Browser, its working perfectly (in Gmail, email titles are not OK though). Ayman, you deserve a medal.
I have updated the image file with Ayman's recent updates. Please see below for the download link. Everything else remains the same.
Jan 20 original post:
Hi All,
This is a different approach to enabling Arabic on the N1 in the browser and the gmail client by utilizing a signed image file I created for this purpose.
Your phone has to be unlocked and rooted. You also have to install the custom recovery image for the N1. You don't have to download the SDK.
After that you need to flash my update.zip file and you will have all the necessary files on your phone to view Arabic correctly.
If you constantly try different cooked firmwares this file will help you quickly restore the Arabic settings. Just flash it immediately after you flash any modified firmware based on 2.0 or 2.1
The contents of the image is only two files: one font file, and the excellent libwebcore.so created by Ayman (Link: http://code.google.com/p/arabicandroid)
Without this file you will not see connected Arabic letters on your phone. So big thanks goes to Dr.Dev for his work
You can download the image file from my blog article on the same topic:
http://dumpytips.blogspot.com/2010/01/arabic-on-nexus-one-almost-complete.html
Hint1: For unlocking and rooting the N1 visit this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=612858
Hint2: For installing the custom recovery image visit this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829
Below are the modified commands to install the recovery image based on the file you download from the link above (in Hint1). You don't have to download the SDK at all.
Code:
Copy recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img to a location where fastboot can find it.
Boot your phone into fastboot mode (power on while holding the trackball)
Connect your phone via usb to your pc/mac/...
fastboot-windows devices (to make sure that fastboot "sees" your phone)
fastboot-windows flash recovery recovery-RA-nexus-v1.5.3.img
Cheers,
-Gus
Thanx abunch mate !! Sounds great ! I have been waiting for someone to come up with this
I flashed it and IT WORKS very well
Nice work !
Thanks Weees.
Please download the new image it has Ayman's recent updates.
Ghassan,
Thanks for putting all these files together. and thanks for your nice words.
I'll upload your file into the project's page.
Regards,
Ayman Alsanad.
Hi Ayman,
My pleasure.
A few points:
1) I used the libwebcore.so.android2.0 and not the recent one (libwebcore.so.android2.1) because Arabic in the Gmail client was not displayed correctly (reversed actually) with the recent file (though SMS and Browser were OK)
2) I tested with libskiagl.so and without it, the results were the same. I noticed the file was there in the original android distribution and that you included it, so I have re-added the file.
3) Email titles while in the list of emails in the Gmail client, is still showing incorrect Arabic in both files: libwebcore.so.android2.0 & libwebcore.so.android2.1
Keep up the good work.
Thanks,
-Gus
Hi Ayman,
I noticed you have update the file again. I can confirm its working (the reveresed Arabic is still there in the Gmail client). Thank you for your dedication to this project.
To all,
Please check Ayman's site for the latest zip file. I will only keep a mirror on my blog. All credit to him. Links in the first post above.
Thanks,
-Gus
Hello everyone and thanks for the effort you are putting behind the project.
Before I root my device, does it support Persian as well as Arabic? I mean do you only included Arabic fonts in your project?
Thanks
I can include a persian font for you in an update file. But I'm not sure about the libraries. Anyway isn't it similar to Arabic? There is no harm in rooting I guess you can afterall download apps that do require root like the excellent N1 Torch.
Try the image file and tell us what happen, then we can see how to help. Always take a nandroid backup first so you can go back if required.
-Gus
Right to Left
Thank you for the update file. It is great. Right-to-left seems to be supported only in the browser, not SMS, right?

@alishankiti
In the Browser and the Gmail client Arabic is RtL. SMS is stil LtR at the moment.
This is very impressive, thanks Ayman and Ghassan.
What's next? Calendar? In the agenda mode, it's Arabic, in other modes it's "reversed".
Can we edit a file(s) to Arabize the system settings and menu strings?
Is there any reason why Google shouldn't include this in the next update, 2.2 / FroYo? It's really a shame that we have to root and void warranty just to arabize Android.
--
Just an extra tip for users on additional arabization, I've tried morelocale2 from the market, which allows setting locale such as ar/SA. This will get the time and date on the status bar in Arabic, gets the news and weather widget in Arabic, and a few other things here and there, such as filenames.

Hey There....
I just flashed the latest v4 update and its working well, except for the Email subjects in Gmail.....the letters are messed up. But its no big deal !! This is still a major milestone
Thanks to you and Ayman for cooking this up !! Great work guys !
@tamarian,
I'm sorry I'm not aware of any files to customize the menu settings. I remember on the G1, when I used to change the locale, I would see some items in Arabic just like morelocale2 (maybe more stuff). As I said earlier as well, root is good for installing hacks and apps that wouldn't be possible without it. Like Nexus One Torch, and now the recent multitouch hack on the stock browser from Cyanogen.
@Weees,
The email subjects are actually reversed. But as you said its a major milestone anyway to get Arabic in the body of the email

MyTouch 3g
Hi, i have a rooted myTouch3g running Manups Eclair 2.1. im wondering if this will work since im running Android 2.1
Update: I just went ahead and tried it, and its working, thank you soo much
Thank you guys. I really appreciate your efforts.
Just a heads up, if you installed the new N1 update (ER27) + superboot, flashing update_ar4 will not work, I had to NAND restore. Waiting for an update or instructions from our android gurus.
true, i think the webcore is not compatible with the new update thats why the phone refuses to boot up u have to restore from back up or reflash the system
I have the updated fonts for this, but is there source available for the rest? I'll merge it into CM if you'd like.
Would be great cyanogen!
[Tutorial] My easy guide to SPEED-UP a lot X10 with STOCK SE 2.1 ROM ♦(UPDATED 30/04)
Hi everybody!
My username is new here on XDA, but you have to know that I follow you everyday, mostly on Xperia X10 thread, since I bought my SE smartphone. Finally I decided to register and take part of this huge community So... welcome to me!
After working on my X10 and following several guides here on XDA, I found very interesting some posts/threads about it and would like to share my experience with you.
If you like, you can pay me a beer with a small donation. Feel free to do it if you want! However, because of I usually don't drink too much beer, you can pay me some gadget that I need for my university studies, it's much better for me
An HUGE thanks to the following users for their donations (please let me know your XDA username too ^^ ):

You might found helpful this guide if:
you are not still ready to fully migrate to non-official ROMs due to their partial instability, lost of warranty,...;
you like Sony Ericsson user interface layer and don't want leave it for other standard ROMs;
you use timescape and mediascape;
you want much more speed from your SE Eclair 2.1 because you are sick of the stuttering during the use;
you want to enjoy multitouch on standard ROM;
you want to experience better snapshot and videorecording quality from your X10 8.1 MPx HD camera;
you want to remove very unuseful third-part preinstalled apps in Sony Ericsson ROM;
you need a very easy tutorial to perform these operations
Click to expand...

Well, I will report here the procedures I have applyed to my Xperia X10 with standard Eclair 2.1 to improve its performance a lot, without making uninstable the software or causing any sort of crash.
!! ATTENTION !! The mods that I report here are not mine. They belong to their developers. I just would like to share with you the steps and the mods I made to my X10 choosing among the great ones all made available here on XDA forum, thanks to the great work done by super people here on XDA Thus, all software downloads here on XDA contain an hotlink that will address you on the official thread of the software, created by its developer. OK??
!! WARNING !! I AM NOT, I AM NOT, I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED TO YOUR SMARTPHONE. Thus, if you want to try, it's up to you. I can only say that my Xperia X10 still works more than fine, and even much faster than before
READY? SET, GO!!!!!!!
STEP 1: ALL DRIVERS WE NEED!!
WHY THIS STEP: At first I tryed some mods but, even with USB debug enabled, certain software was not able to work. The reason? Simple: the right drivers were not correctly installed on my Windows 7 PC even with SEUS preinstalled and fully working.
HOW TO DO:
You simply have to download Sony Ericsson PC Companion. You can found it clicking HERE , downloading from the official SE source the latest version.
Once you download and install it (very easy to do), just connect your Xperia X10 and wait until the software recognizes it. Now all drivers, even the USB debugging ones, are fully installed and operative. We must need them for next operations we will perform to our X10.
STEP 2: ROOT IS THE BASIS FOR ALL!
WHY THIS STEP: we need to obtain the ROOT access on our Xperia X10 in order to be able to execute certain software and make sure it works well. Without working root, we simply won't obtain the right full permissions to proceed with the installation and customization of certains mods that will follow here in this guide.
HOW TO DO:
simply download and unpack the latest FlashTool 0.2.6, that includes several major bugfixes in respect to the previous version. Download it from its official thread, HERE.
Now turn on your Xperia X10, connect it to your PC and enable the USB Debugging from Setting -->Applications --> Development (I hope the translation is right, I have italian software on my Xperia...);
Finally start FlashTool by clicking on the main executable file and simply click the "ROOT" button on the upper part of the software.
WAIT, WAIT, WAIT and enjoy a delicious italian coffee
Once the software finishes (usually a few seconds are needed) maybe it will restart your X10 or will ask you to do it. So, do it now!
Root completed!!!
STEP 3: BUSYBOX, the magic box
WHY THIS STEP: you need this intermediate step to be completely sure that the installation of next component will work fine without any problem or crash. This is a toolpack for your Android device that will bring the right instructions used by certain software to be correctly executed.
HOW TO DO:
Open Android Market application from your X10;
Search "busybox", then install it as you do for every application;
Open BusyBox Installer from your main menu, click OK to agree with the licence and finally click on the "Install" button.
If the root performed at the previous step (STEP 2) of this tutorial has been correctly executed, you will be able to install it without any problem and an "OK" message will appear.
STEP 4: xRECOVERY, the magical installation tool ;)
WHY THIS STEP: xRecovery is a sort of "external software environment" developed for Android Xperia X10 in which you will be able to boot in at every OS boot, to execute advanced operations regarding your ROM and NAND memory. You can install custom rom, backup them, format, wipe cache, and (this is what we need now) install custom zip updates and software packages.
HOW TO DO:
Download the installer from the OFFICIAL THREAD here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=859571 on XDA; choose the typical installation. In other words, just download the APK;
Copy the APK on the SD of your X10 by connecting it on your PC;
Open the APK on the Xperia X10 and install it using for example ASTRO file manager.
Once installation has finished, open "xRecovery installer" from the main menu and choose "Install xRecovery". A few seconds and all is done!!
To boot in xRecovery, simply restart your phone and press BACK button while booting
xRecovery does not allow you anymore to charge battery without (automatically) turning on the phone if it is powered off and you plug the USB cable. If you want to restore the battery offline charge functionality, just install through xRecovery the "xRecovery-charge-offline.zip" file; you will find it in the same official thread, at the bottom of the first main post!
STEP 5: THE JUST-IN-TIME COMPILATOR for your 2.1!
WHY THIS STEP: you will be able to enjoy better performance in everyday use of your X10 by installing a new kind of software compiler that Google has included in Android 2.2 Froyo (and next releases). On XDA developers have been able to make a port of this new kind of compiler on the standard Xperia 2.1 ROM. This compiler works in a quite different way because it performs the compiling procedure "as the software needs it", just in time. I would remember you that in ARC computer architecture, a compiler is a software module that translates high-level language in assembly language.
HOW TO DO:
Download the JIT Enabler v2.0 from its OFFICIAL THREAD ;
Don't unzip it but follow the instructions in the official thread to install it. You simply have to save the zip file on your SD Card, boot in xRecovery (restart the X10 and press any button during boot), than choose "install custom zip" and select this file. Installation will last a few seconds.
After installation, reboot the X10 choosing the rebooting option from xRecovery.
No panic: first reboot will require a lot of time!! Don't worry, leave your X10 working until the boot ends.
PAY ATTENTION!! Latest official SE firmware, always based on 2.1 Eclair Android OS, officially brings the dualtouch support. And, although Sony Ericsson ensures "it will work only in browser and Google Maps", it works everywhere!.
Thus, no need to perform STEP 6 and STEP 7. However, unfortunately I noticed that latest firmware ( .435) 's dual touch precision is worse than the one provided with STEP 6 and STEP 7. I also heard that the new firmware update that SE is releasing just in these days will bring a really improved dual touch system. We hope it!!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
STEP 6: MULTITOUCH, WE WANT IT!!
WHY THIS STEP: really? are you seriously asking yourself why this step? Well, the multitouch (sorry, dualtouch...) is one of the most dreamed freature by every X10 user: it makes you able to use pinch-to-zoom on your beautiful 4'' LCD !
HOW TO DO: just follow the official tutorial HERE
STEP 7: A FULLY-ENABLED DUAL-TOUCH!
WHY THIS STEP: simply because multitouch update won't work in every application! Browser, google maps, Angry Birds,... Thus, with this tutorial you will be able to fully unlock it
HOW TO DO: just follow the official tutorial HERE
STEP 8: IMPROVE YOUR CAMERA
WHY THIS STEP: it overwrites the official camera apk with an optimized one that allow you to snap better pictures with improved details, reduce the shot time, improve a lot HD video quality (recuding a lot the stuttering suffered by X10 in videorecording...).
HOW TO DO: just follow the official tutorial HERE
I suggest you to backup the official camera apk file; in case of problem you can easily restore it. You can simply choose to rename it, for example, append to the name "_DELETED": you will "disable" the file because you changed its name. To restore it simply rename it deleting the modded one and removing the "_DELETED" extension. For this operation I highly suggest Root Explorer!
The new v7 version of this custom apk camera, that always applyes ONLY to stock SE 2.1 ROMs, is based on the stock apk camera file of latest SE firmware. It includes even better video captures, but requires a few more steps to be fully enabled: just have a deeper look at the first post of the official tutorial I have just linked! In fact, you just need to add a few more rows to build.prop file.
HOW CAN I EDIT BUILD.PROP? Here a fast sub-tutorial:
You can use RootExplorer, download it from the market. It only will work with root privileges
make sure you reach the directory in which build.prop is stored (it is saved into system directory)
press MountR/W button
long press on build.prop and choose "open in text editor"
Add the required rows, finally save & exit. And you've done everything!
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
STEP 9: SPEED, SPEED, SPEED! REMOVE UNUSEFUL APKs!
WHY THIS STEP: well, this is the step I like the most! Simply because it's the one that makes it possible to obtain a lot of speed increasing!!! The goal is to remove unused applications that usually runs in background draining your battery and slowing a lot your bright Snapdragon CPU
HOW TO DO:
Use Root Explorer; install it from the Market if you still don't have it;
I don't want you to remove applications; just move them to your SD cards. They will not be recognized anymore from Android OS and won't be executed. In other words, you remove it by creating a backup. If something goes wrong, if you miss any application functionality, you simply restore them on their original directory. Be sure to check permissions, when you restore: put a check, with Permission options of Root Explorer, of the first two items of first row if they are unselected!
With Root Explorer create a folder, for example name it "deleted" on SD card root; it will contain the backup copy of removed unused APKs;
With Root Explorer, move to system/app directory
Enable the Multi-select option in Root Explorer
SELECT THE FOLLOWING APKs:
EManual.apk
EManualLauncher.apk
FaceRecognition.apk
JapaneseIME.apk
LatinIME.apk
LearningClient.apk
OMAClientProvisioning.apk
PcCompanion.apk
playnowback.apk
playnowclient.apk
SEMCSetupWizard.apk
SEMCTouchPalKoreanQWERTY.apk
SetupWizard.apk
Stk.apk
moxiermail.apk
playnowappinstaller.apk
quadrapop.apk
wisepilot.apk
qcsemcservice.apk
SemcCheckin.apk
OmaDatasyncService.apk
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Choose "Move";
Now reach the "deleted" folder you created before and choose "Paste".
Finished!! Now reboot your X10 and enjoy better free RAM and much more speed!!
I followed THIS GUIDEto suggest you the be(a)st APKs to remove. However, I missed some APKs for two reasons:
I WANT TIMESCAPE!
Removing some of the ones suggested in that thread, I was no more able to update my status and the splins on TimeScape
Well, I don't remove Chinese keyboard because I need it to write to my chinese friends here in Shanghai But you can add it to your custom removing list if you prefer!
Pay attention! Maybe now, due to any of that application removing, you won't be able anymore to sync facebook photos with your phonebook. Don't worry!! You can download and use the great SyncMyPix from Android Market. It will allow you to automatically sync every photo from your facebook contacts with a much higher quality than the stock Sony Ericsson application that works in your phonebook to sync these photos!!!
You can have a deeper look of all these APK HERE ; thanks to reindero2005 user for this useful link!
STEP 10: HOME SCREEN REPLACEMENT
WHY THIS STEP: simply because the stock homescreen and menu by SE are quite slow and usually stuttering. Thus, I suggest you to install LauncherPro and enable the 3D menu.
HOW TO DO:
Open Android Market and search launcherpro application;
Try the free version, it's more than enough. However, you can help its developer buying the full version and enjoying full options
Set it as default homescreen (it will be asked from Android OS after installation when you press the home button) and add all widgets and icons you want.
You may also choose a static desktop background: it will help you saving battery and menu will become a lot faster without an animated wallpaper. Try and choose, almost everything in your life it's up to you!
STEP 11: IMPROVE YOUR SOUND
WHY THIS STEP: to obtain a better, louder, crisper sound from your X10. From every hardware source: earphones, bluetooth audio devices, on-board speaker,...
HOW TO DO:
Just download (it is not free, buy it if you want ) Louder Volume Hack v4.1;
After installation, follow every initial step that the program will require.
Press on the big speaker icon on the screen, then select V6 & Revision2Files button and click Apply.
Wait until the software finishes, than on next screen choose buttons IC Loud, Headset Boost 1 and Bluetooth Boost 1, finally apply again
Reboot and enjoy a better higher sound, especially in earphones!!
STEP 12: SYSCTL, ADVANCED (BUT AUTOMATIC) KERNEL IMPROVEMENTS
WHY THIS STEP: sysctl is a free utility that allow to further improve your system responsiveness. Scrolling will be even faster (everything on the screen will better follow your finger during touch), applications will run faster and their opening time will be reduced. Not only!! After the right settings and tune-up of the software, your battery will do an huge smile because your X10's autonomy will exceed a lot!!
HOW TO DO:
search on the Market and download sysctl; it's free
after installation, search in your menu and open "Sysctl Config"
Set up the following:
- Check "Enable sysctl" option;
- Set "Min Free KBytes" to: 32568
- Set "Dirty Ratio" to: 5
- Set "Dirty Background Ratio" to: 3
- Set "VFS Cache Pressure" to: 1
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
FINISHED! Maybe the easiest step, right? Now just reboot your phone
STEP 13: MINOR FINAL TWEAKS TO BUILD.PROP file
WHY THIS STEP: a few minor tweaks for further improvements of your android device!
HOW TO DO: you need to edit your build.prop file. Remember? I explained how to do it in STEP 8, in the quoted part of the text. Take a look here if you did not read it before these other steps and you will be ready to go!
Here you will found several "rows" that you have either to modify (if already present into default.prop file) or to add (if not present, of course). The BOLD part are the rows, while the Italic-style text is a description about them and you don't have, of course, to add/edit this part into your build.prop file because it's simply a description for you, to better understand what every single "command" does!
ro.telephony.call_ring.delay=1000 phone will ring without delay when someone calls you
windowsmgr.max_events_per_sec=260 the operative system will check touchscreen inputs with more frequency (think about the interrupt interval), thus the scrolling will be smoother
dalvik.vm.heapsize=48m and dalvik.vm.execution-mode=int:jit which bring better cache management
mot.proximity.delay=150 : it makes the proximity sensor more responsive
You should already have these two values if you took a look at STEP 7: they are ro.product.multi_touch_enabled=true and
ro.product.max_num_touch=2 . Make sure these two instructions are ALWAYS placed as last ones into build.prop file and no enter is present at the end of the file!
STEP 14: FURTHER SPEED-UP, FREE RAM MEMORY AND IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE
WHY THIS STEP: Thanks to the user PlayGunsta that has posted HERE a nice deep tutorial regarding this, it is possible to further increase the true performance of our device by installing two small programs and set-up them in a very easy and fast way! In a few words, the first APK module will allow you to make free around 100MB of the RAM of the X10 in any situation (and trust me, this immediatly translates in a smooth boost, without taking into account the Android memory management system and how it works...). Not only more free RAM: also an improved battery and an overall speed-up of your system.
After this tweak, try to open your Browser, TimeScape or MediaScape: all will seem damn fast
ALL CREDITS go to PlayGunsta and his THREAD, I just report his tweak here for your convenience
HOW TO DO:
PART 1 - Autokiller
Download THIS package, move it to your SD card and install, for example, with the help of ASTRO File Manager;
Open Autokiller (what you have just installed!);
In the Memory limits tab set the following:
Hidden app: 150
Content provider: 160
Empty app: 170
Press Apply (and allow for root access permissions);
Go to "Setting" and check that the option "Apply settings on boot" is checked!
Move to "Advanced system tweaks" and enable "Battery" and "Memory management" options;
Exit and return to your home screen, then reboot!
PART 2 - Autorun Manager
Download THIS package, move it to your SD card and install, for example, with the help of ASTRO File Manager;
Open Autorun Manager(what you have just installed!);
Focus only on the "Basic" tab of the software, and disable all the services that you don't use or, in general, are unuseful for your device. This will kill all uneeded background applications, will free more memory and will make available more CPU resources for the other running programs! For example, I have disabled "Software Update", "Anonymous Usage Stats", "Skype". You can also try with other services if you like!
Exit and return to your home screen, then reboot!
STEP 15: DRASTIC FURTHER STOCK APPS REMOVAL
WHY THIS STEP: Well, I have to say that I didn't need to perform this step because I love so much certain stock applications which are present in our X10. For example, how could I survive withouth Timescape? Imho it's simply the best social gadget I've played with until now! However, if you like to have a more Android-stock oriented smartphone, and want to remove further Sony Ericsson applications in a very safe way, this further step is just for you
Furthermore, it will give you the ability to remove core applications which can easily replaced with other ones -most of them free- from the Android Market.
HOW TO DO:
Just follow the instructions of STEP 9 , what you have to do is exactly the same. But, in this case, here the other applications that you can remove (if you don't need them, of course), withouth causing any problem to your phone. I would thank the user Ski-lleR that has mentioned them on this thread and already removed them without problems.
Here the list:
Browser.apk (it's the default browser, remove it if you want to replace with another one, for example Dolphin, Firefox, Opera,...)
Calculator.apk (the stock SE calculator)
Facebook.apk (the Facebook application, it shouldn't affect Timescape)
mediascape.apk (the official Sony Ericsson music player)
MediascapePluginManager.apk (component of MediaScape)
officesuite.apk (the trial office suite)
Timescape.apk (here Timescape APK with its modules and themes all safe to remove)
Timescape.apk
TimescapePluginManager.apk
TimeScapeProvider.apk
TimescapeThemeBlue.apk
TimescapeThemeGreen.apk
TimescapeThemeIndigo.apk
TimescapeThemeOrange.apk
TimescapeThemeSakura.apk
trackid.apk (the software needed to recognize songs by just let the phone hearing them from an external source)
Youtube.apk (of course, the YouTube application)
Click to expand...
Click to collapse
Well, as I said, I didn't remove them and if you keep them only TimeScape, especially on very low speed networks, will cause sometimes the phone to lag a bit. It's up to you to decide. And, in case you are not pretty sure, just move these applications, as I explained in step 9, to another folder and see what happens to the operative system without them. In case you miss them, just restore with a cut-paste in the original folder to enjoy their functionalities again
STEP 16: REMOVE BOOT SCREEN ANIMATION TO SPEED-UP BOOT
WHY THIS STEP: If you don't care too much to graphics and animated SE boot screen logo, you can remove this capability and save some time during the boot procedure. I would thank the user basisnederland that has suggested to include this step in the guide. Really thank you and thanks everybody for the tons of feedbacks and suggestions that help me to make this guide better and better
HOW TO DO: Using for example RootExplorer, you just have to delete the file called startupanimation.zip situated into the directory media. The result is a sensible improvement on cold boot!
STEP 17: SD CARD TRANSFER RATES (READ&WRITE) SPEED-UP
WHY THIS STEP: Well, in my case only improvements with benchmark tests and not too much in real daily use. But at least you should have a try to this mod, it sounds really interesting
Since a couple of weeks, here on XDA more than one developer suggested scripts and mod (to flash with xRecovery or to create with a notepad and put inside the ROM) to reach a simple goal: adjust the size of the cache of the SD memory card in order to obtain better performances in terms of read and write transfer rates.
The operation of modding was not so easy for non expert users, until Diego Stamigni, an Italian developer (I am Italian too and so I am glad for this ^_^ ) has created a very easy-to-use tool to perform this operation!
Before and after you perform this step, please measure the read and write speed of your SD Card in terms of MegaBytes per second (MB/s) with a benchmark tool called SD Tools that you can find on the Android Market to see how much the improvement is!
HOW TO DO:
A few very simple steps to follow:
Download from Android Market the software SD Tools and install it
Run the benchmark with the stock parameters (remember that Android set SD Cache to 128KB) and look at the result; you will see quite low reading and writing speed for your SD card!
Now download and install from the market SD Speed Increase, thus set the cache of SD card in 2048KB and press Apply. Of course, you can try other values and every time start SD Tools bench to see which one best fits for your memory card, according to the brand, the Class speed and the NAND type
After applying the tweak, see the improvement with SD Tools!
This tweak will automatically apply to every boot of the smartphone, so after you perform it just enjoy the speed increase without remember to do anything next time you reboot your X10
... AND NOW? WHAT SHOULD I GET AND EXPECT FROM MY SLIGHTLY MODDED X10?
The answer to this question is very simple: much speed!!! One time I executed Linpack I got 34.4 MFLOPS as score. But usually is around 32.5 / 33. A very good result for the stock ROM. However, I want to focus to a more important point: it doesn't matter the number of a benchmark, it matters the real speed that you are able to appreciate everytime you use your smartphone. Now you will se everything work much faster, you will say "WOW" maybe (yes, I did it too...) =P

CONCLUSION AND FINAL WORDS
I hope you appreciate my modest guide. It is addressed to newbies like me ( ) that want more performance from their SE standard ROM.
I will check and try to update this guide as more news come, however you can always help me to reach this goal and suggest all the mistakes I made writing this tutorial
Thank youuuuu ^^
Wow, PaVi90.
wow, nice work.
Thank you guys
Well done!
great job, very helpful
I thought, I've done great with my phone, I just learned that I still have to do two more steps, from what I read from here...

Hi,
I try to answer
1) The "problem" of wake-up during charge is due to xRecovery. It changes the "way" the phone boots and thus also during charge the X10 will power on;
2) Did you check and install latest firmware BEFORE rooting? If you already have the latest firmware, don't upgrade otherwise you will lost all your customizations!

[ ROM here ] TeamLeader FB05 ROM, 1.3 & 1.2 for the new Galaxy S II LTE HD SHV-E120L
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Updated: FB05 by Teamleader [ latest ROM ]
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
NOTE , all these roms are for the E120L only. This phone is pretty new ( last i checked and is only available in Korea so most of the functions may not work on your carrier - or you'll have to find ways around them or just ask on the thread ).
> general instructions for FB05 ROM below curtesy of prodigiez
Flash your phone with tegrak kernel FB05 ( guide here )
Boot into tegrak recovery , back up system and then back up data
Go to you phonememory/tegrak/backup and copy both your system and data back to your computer or other folder. Remember to leave tegrak/backup empty
Then download the backup tar part1 part2
Extract the FB05.rar and you will see 2 files ( system.tegrak.tar and text file )
Place the system.tegrak.tar ( the one you just extracted ) into phonememory/tegrak/backup
Reboot your phone into tegrak recovery mode and choose restore from back up
Once restored , go into stock recovery mode and do a factory reset.
Voila , the new custom FB05 is now running in your phone
I removed all preinstalled chinese app with 520mb ram available and english as first language.
This rom is made by TL and some Chinese Dev from BBS forum. Credit to them. I just make it convenient for non chinese user.
Been using it for few days. No FC , acceptable battery life and able to send sms with default sms app.
In case this rom is not working for you or you dont like it , copy your system.tegrak.tar and data.tegrak.tar back into tegrak folder and restore it.
> thanks to prodigiez

Teamleader v1.3
::::::::::::::::::::
Teamleader 1.3 is an update to 1.2, an international version of the stock rom for our phones from Korea. Its made for the Asia market but works for most other areas provided you have the same frequency - check with your telecom providers.
> Root ready: This rom is already rooted ( has superuser + rebooter ).
> Keyboards: English (U.S), Korean, Chinese
> Market, Gmail, Youtube....the usual suspects
> Chinese software for the keyboard (Baidu,...UC Browser ) << remove these with Root Explorer if needed / Freeze with Titanium Backup Pro ( see my list below of junk )
> Samsung Apps << remove these with Root Explorer if needed / Freeze with Titanium Backup Pro ( see my list below of junk )
Safe way: Use Root Explorer copy the Systems / App folder to your pc or SD card just incase you screw things up. Have Odin on standby I think this phone is unbrickable..use stock recovery tool if needed.
Let me know if you have any problems so we can share the list of bugs ( even though I'm not the dev ). Press the Thank button if it helps you, ask questions if your not sure.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
How to Flash it - Steps
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Happy to report that I got some time today to flash 1.3 on the old MBP.
For those who were asking how to do this
1. Download the file E120L_Teamleader_V1-1.3.7z from here ( let me know if the source is down and I can upload mine somewhere )
( use password - "koxda" .com to extract the file<< without space on the dot com part ). After you extract the file you'll get a Odin useless file ( I assume ), and a tar extension file. You need the tar file to flash with Odin in step 8 below. Put both files in a folder on your desktop or somewhere you can easily fetch with windows explorer.
2. Make sure you have a full battery ( its recommended for better battery performance )
3. Back up important Data with the following options:
(a) Titanium Backup Pro ( if you need all your app data and installs )
(b) SMS Backup & Restore (if you need sms conversations )
(c) Call Logs Backup & Restore ( if you need call history )
(d) You can skip a,b, and c, and just use Tegrak Kernel tool to do a Nanoid backup ( but you need to flash the Tegrak Kernel via Odin found here << thanks to Prodigiez. There's instructions in Korean - please google translate it and choose the appropriate file according to your phone model.
4. Clear your Cache and Davlik Cache ( I did, I think it helps )
5. You'll need a windows pc ( I bootcamped my mac ), you'll need Samsung Drivers, you'll need Odin3 - you can find them here << thanks to Prodigiez. There's instructions in Korean - please google translate it and choose the appropriate file according to your phone model.
6. Install the Samsung Drivers, now connect your phone and windows will do its thing to install the drivers. Your phone will now be visible as a USB device.
7. Install Odin and keep Odin running. Connect your phone. Turn it into download mode , it will look something like this ( see attached photo "downloadmode" )
8. Click on "PDA" in the Odin program, choose the file ROM file ( in my case its "PDA_TeamleaderV1.3.tar ", then hit start. Odin will do its thing, the screen would look something like this ( see attached photo "odinprocress"). Once its done Odin will display something like this ( see attached photo "odinsuccess"). Your phone will reboot, disconnect the cable and you'll have a junk load of apps that you may want to remove. ( refer to my junk load apps section ). Your phone will now have the following build specs ( see attached "1.3about" photo)
Junk Apps that are running on my task manager ( see attached "junkload" photo )
I'll find time later on to clean up the apps. If you plan to remove these apps you need to use Root Explorer but first make a backup of the systems/app folder otherwise you may end up screwing up your system with FCs. Its easy to know which app is a problem. The safest way is to use Titanimum Backup Pro and freeze some apps.
Here's a list of the apps I consider "junk" on 1.3 ( if your a native English speaker that doesn't like bloatware ). Removing these apps is for experts I recommend you freeze them with Titanium - again backup your systems/app folder to avoid FC's.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
JUNK (Bloatware) on Teamleader 1.3 Rom
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Not all this is junk, if you like to have these apps please don't remove them ( experts only ).

> Voice Recorder
> There's 2-3 other apps which all have Chinese writings ( all gone )
> The Samsung JUNK. If you are like me and want to really streamline your phone and know exactly what functions you will never use, then here's a safe list ( here ) from the SGS 2 list of safe to remove apps you can try out:
If you want to do nanoid back-ups and CWM style, you will need to flash tegrak kernel using Odin again on the windows box. Then you can do the back-ups.
For now I will stick and test the kernel 1.3 comes with as I was experiencing some horrible battery drain on 1.2, my suspicion was the FC Commando game I was playing and the Alarm ( for some reason I would get FCs when setting up alarms on the clock app ). Once the alarm had gone off the phone would remain very hot until I manually ended the task using AirDroid <<< I highly recommend this app.
I'll keep testing the stock 1.3 kernel and see if my situation is solved and report. ( so far, 3 hours later, my battery is pretty good at 90% ). I still have the junk on my phone I'll remove it this weekend to see if it helps ( I'm sure it will ).
I'll keep testing this out and report, if you guys could post any bugs on here too that would be great. Lets share

OLD - Rom Teamleader 1.2 ( flash it the same way as 1.3 )
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Here's a link to the Team Leader 1.2 ROM that's very stable, fast, and good battery life as an alternative to the other stock roms out there like EJ...
Flash this through Odin and # see instructions on the attached screenshot of which button to click ( I'm not Chinese but its not rocket science to figure it out ). It downloads pretty fast inside China I have 150KB/sec...pretty impressive for Shanghai internet speeds.
Go here to download it.
Password for the extracted file is" www#.koapk.com " (remove the # )
If it downloads too slow I'll have to upload my file somewhere and hope not to get cought by the feds
Enjoy and hit that " Thank" button if you find this useful
So why post in the wrong forum ????.
Its not a question .

I've asked the mods to create a forum for this phone, hopefully it will get moved there so chillax.
Glad the speeds working out well for you mailwork. Let me know how your install works.
Does this work for e120s? Or do I need a different Team Leader rom?
there's v1.3 actually which is good rom... and fixed some fc issues... google around and you will find it..
as requested , i have uploaded this rom to a fast file hosting for free users..
Hey Prodigiez, I haven't experienced any FC issues on v1.2, did they fix the color issues on 1.3 yet? Also if you find an ICS 4.0 rom for this I'd love to get a hook up. I'm starting to miss Serendipity Rom.
Things that could get improved on this phone
----------------------------------------------------
> Power button for shooting photos like on Serendipity
> Silence the camera shutter noise
> Easier access to Data on/off, and other settings where the current the Wifi on/off, Rotate, Bluetooth, and other usual suspects on the top slide down menu on the phone
> Automatic Bluetooth visibility to ON for 30 mins upon turning on Bluetooth ( right now its a 3 click procress - pretty messed up I assume Android would have got it right by now
> Quicker shutdown / Power on
> Samsung qWerty Keyboard ( I miss the big keys even though I got a replacement app )
> Remove the funky icon next to the signal bar ( there's an icon with a no-call looking thingi next t the signal bar and power bar)
> Better audio management ( for some reason the speaker doesn't sound that loud / good ) on playing certain media.
Otherwise, this phone without doubt the best smart phone out there currently.
Sounds good thank you
Sounds good thank you !
@michael1982t,
New HD LTE owner here.
I've flashed 1.2 and am happy to report that SMS is now working properly. -relieved-
However, don't you find the colors are way off? Or maybe the brightness level is just too dim.. (apparently, this was intentional to avoid the phone overheating) Have you heard of any fix for this?
This. Phone. Rocks.
@neverborn,
Glad the rom solved your issues, I haven't experienced any overheating, just the normal heat rise due to playing the new Captian America game too long which is normal.
As for the colors, I didn't notice that on mine, strange. I did notice that the auto brightness under Settings > Display has some issues with dimming the screen on and off. So I have mine manually set to this level ( see attached photo ) which works ok for my battery and eyes.
@ prodigiez , Do you know how to remove this damn icon? See photo attached with pointed arrow, its right next to my phone signal bar.

For sure, its a monster like non other !
It's much, much, much dimmer than what it was stock. Pity for such a great screen..
Also, where are you reading about the ROMs? I'm at angeeks and google translate's not doing a very good job on it..
There's several Korean forums, this phone is basically tailored for the Korean market, there's better updates on them than on the Chinese sites I've been looking at. I'll get some links posted when I get time later today.
As for the colors, maybe its a hardware thing on your phone? Not sure. But on mine they look pretty vivid and pretty bright ( I'm on manual, I don't use the auto brightness under display settings as there seems to be a bug with it) , I care more about the battery life cause I use it for web + games + emails + lots of calling (voip + regular ). The display is the only thing that makes this phone eat battery like hell ( next to wifi). I'm sure you'll sort out and adjust it according to your daily needs.
Thanks, that'd be great.
As for the brightness, it was properly bright when I first got it. It was only after I flashed TL 1.2 that it became this dim. There was even a message when I first booted up into TL saying that they intentionally lowered the brightness levels to prevent overheating...
Wish this is better in 1.3

There's the same as with any Odin install ( something like this ) but you can google for more info:
a) Download the odin zip
b) Download the drivers for your phone, there was a thread about it
c) Download the image that you need to flush
d) Plug in your phone, put it into the recovery mode I think ( on this phone its not the same as the big yellow android guy ).
Here's the full instructions for your specific phone thanks to Prodiquez
://pspmaster.tistory.com/176 << add http to the front. translate this site to english and follow the instructions. there are 3 version there ... E120S E120L E120K and the kernel itself are rooted and comes with superuser... Choose E120L or S I suppose. In your case you just need the drivers + odin zip, you don't need the kernel to flash CWM. But if you want to flush CWM you can grab the files from there. Enjoy
I could easily share the files on here if your scared of all the Korean
By the way, everyone, we are trying to get a forum home for our phone please vote on this post forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=22096490 << add http to the start.
Hope this helps:
-Open Odin from the package downloaded
-Click the PDA button, pick the PDA......tar from same package
-Get into download mode
-plug in phone, make sure Odin acknowledges
-click Start
--oops, beat me to it
About to try 1.3. Hope it sorts out my brightness issue.

Neverborn is probably correct. Youtube it as well, plenty of videos that show how to use Odin. By the way im not a back fan of it, or mainly used it to rescue my old bricked Captivate. If you want the Odin, see the page I gave you a link to the file name is "Odin3_v1.85.zip"
@Neverborn
Let me know how 1.3 turns out, post any issues up on here, I may just update this to be a 1.3 rom post as well as 1.2 and keep the devs busy. Depending on your feedback I may upgrade this or next week if I get time to mess with it.

I'd bought this WE a little box from Engel Axil with Android 2.3.
This box is powered by an ARM CORTEX (armv7) processor with 512Mo of RAM and 2Go stockage.
More info HERE.
I'd installed openssh and I can see the return of 'uname -a':
Code:
Linux localhost 2.6.34 V1.3.0-70-gee2481e(20120217.100957) armv7l GNU/Linux
A spanish community seem to have succeed to make a ICS release for it HERE, but they don't say anything about the procedure to install this.
Is there somebody here which will be able to explain me how to upgrade my Engeldroid ?
With 'busybox installer' and ssh terminal, I am able to get root access.
Now I try to set the default home launcher to something else than original spanish launcher....
I'm interested in this too!
The EngelDroid 1007M looks just like what I need, but I don't like that its software is in spanish.

Hello Guys,
I'm living in Spain myself and bought me one of these nifty boxes as well and started to fizzle around with it.
Here are my findings with it so far:
Android:
The box comes standard with Android 2.4.3 (or was it 2.3.4, I'm at work right now and can't remember correctly ) but can be upgraded to a 4.0.3 version that is made by Mygica.es.
The link to download the upgrade is indeed the link you've posted.
To install this upgrade you will need to download the zipfile, rename it to update.img and copy it to a clean SD Card.
Make sure that the Engeldroid is powered off and put the SD Card in the Engeldroid.
Than take something pointy and press and hold the reset button on the back (the smal little hole) and plug in the power connection to boot the Engeldroid in update mode. You can release the reset button when you see the restore-android-logo appearing on the screen.
The droid will now look for the update.img on the SD Card and start updating your box. There will be a random offset message but that is nothing to worry about and does not give any problems with the installation.
The first time after installing this new Android version the unit will take up to 15 minutes to boot it due to installing all settings and default apps from this custom rom.
The normal remote control with the keyboard on the back won't work anymore, but the motion controller will. It is highly advisable to connect a wireless keyboard and/or mouse or combination. Myself, I'm using a Logitech K400 keyboard/touchpad combination which works flawless.
Another option for the Media Center tweakers would be to install Linux with XBMC on this.
It is nowhere comfirmed but that is how I am using my Engeldroid at the moment and it turned my droid box into a proper XBMC media center and Samba file server that shares all my movies from the connected disc on the network as well.
The install procedure is the almost the same as with the other ROMS, download, unpack the zipfile, make sure the file is called update.img, copy to the root of the SD Card, plug it in and reset the droid with the reset button hold.
The link for the specific build of XBMC Linux that is working with our droid I can't post here yet, but search on google for: Pivos XBMC-Linux Beta 100912 and you will find the Pivos forums with the release topic of this ROM.
Don't try the Android ROM from Pivos, it is not compatible with the Engeldroid EN1007M. No worries if you want to try it, it won't blow up our box but just won't install.
If you have any more specific questions, please ask or send me a message or email and I will get in touch with you.
Official update
There is an official update for this device to ICS 4 (site in spanish though)
engeldroid . com
Got to "Nueva ROM Android 4 ICS" --> "ROM Android 4 ICS" (I'd link it but I don't have 10 posts yet )
