I've got insufficient space due to those 720 mbs, but they are nowhere to be found , days after i flash a rom this always happens and when i press on transfers to try to delete them, there are no files!
It´s really getting annoying, where in root can i find and delete these files? Last time before i re-flashed Omega with a deep wipe, i had 2 gigabytes in transfers which were the reason for me to re-flash Omega.
http: //imageshack. us/g/267/20121018222116.png/
As you can see in the screenshots, the 720 mbs in files are nowhere to be found
Can someone explain this noob whats is happening?
thanks in advance!

Hi,
Weird, I don't really know why you have this folder... With a file explorer go to /sdcard and see if you see a folder named "Transfêrencias"...
In any case your internal storage is full, like your sdcard, maybe it's time to clean a little at least your internal storage
7.51 GB of apps...

Hi,
My gf has a galaxy s2 and it shows low on space for the device memory. Weird thing is it shows the apps are taking 200mb space, but there is only few mb left out of 1.9GB. I deleted some apps and moved them to sd card. It opened 100mb of space. But again in quite short time it went down to less than 2mb free space. (Without doing anything)
Its usb storage and sd card has quite a lot space.
I'm suspecting some malicious application, but none seems like that. I'll probably do a factory reset. Before that is there anything I can try?
I tried downloading lookout security, but although it's a 4mb app and I had 10mb free at the time, it said insufficient space and did not install.
Have a read of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1589970 and see if it applies to you.
I must have missed this one. Thanks a lot.
Though its not mine and don't want to root it. I'll try to find a workaround.
Guys thanks i read this forum..
I had the same issue my S2 is rooted so i was able to sort out and delete the dump files
I noticed that the dump file date is everyday with 438kb each how so I was getting this?
I had to delete 2000+ dump files is this some sort of malware?
I was suspecting an app doing this, I will post the actual screenshots of the file maybe you could do something about this..

Could you please tell the location of the dump files? Or how did you go about deleting them?

I use FX Explorer> System Root > Data > Log
Delete the log folder to save you time from deleting the dump file one by one
then just create another folder and name it as log.
hope this helps.
So, i have a huge problem. My tab's internal storage is being used by something unknown to me.
After looking around on the forums and the allmighty internet, I found the app called "DiskUsage" to help me narrow down the search for the mystical black hole in my storage.
What i find is nearly 15gb of space being eaten by "System Data". I attempted to look for files that could be using the space but failed to do so.
I then went on to format the entire tablet in CWM (system/sd-card etc) and again opened the DiskUsage app to see if anything changed. Links to the pictures are in the attatchment.
Does anyone have any idea on how I find and get rid of whats clugging my system?
Thanks in advance,
- Nicklas
I'm sorry for this shameless bump. But anyone have a single clue on how I can fix this?
And here's another one. I really can't find the answer anywhere. Anyone have a single clue?
Flash a stock rom with odin and perform a wipe from the stock recovery. You may have to use a pit file also.
Sent from my amazing 10.1 galaxy tab
I have eaten space too like you, i looked that when i installed CM 10 unofficial version it seems that doesnt erase at all when i did a wipe factory reset probablly you have the apps that you had In the last room, i dont know how to fix it..

Going to attempt this and see what happens. Hopefully it works out!
That did the trick! Thanks alot!!
In the future, check if you have a folder on sdcard labeled: LOST.DIR. I am not sure exactly what it is for, but I had one taking up almost 6gb on my phone a few months back, and after doing some research discovered that it basically contains "lost" files and is completely safe to delete. I backed it up to my computer just in case. On my Tab, I have the same folder, but it was only a few kb in size, so I haven't messed with it.
Hi guys!
I have an issue that is driving me crazy... I've read millions of posts regarding the famous "Insufficient Storage Available" issue, but the solutions suggested on those posts won't work on my phone... People suggest to delete the cache or move apps to SD, but that won't work on mine.. In summary, this is my current status:
Galaxy S2 I-9100
Running ICS 4.0.3
Storage:
- Device memory: Total space: 1.97 GB
Applications: 757 MB
Available: 205M
- USB Storage: Total Space: 11.5 GB
Available: 3.05 GB
- SD Card: Total space: 7.42 GB
Available: 6.08 GB
Phone is rooted
As you can see, I've plenty of space... But seems like if I go under 220 MB on device memory I get this error... How can I solve this issue? When I try to move apps to the SD card I get an error "Unable to move app"...
Is there any way to extend the device memory? Other options?
Appreciate your help in advance!
And my other question is... If I have a total space of 1.97 GB of device memory, and only 757 MB in applications, why it only shows 208MB available? Where's the other 1 GB that should be free?
HELP PLEASE!!
have you tried cleaning you phone or seeing what taking up so much room on the device? get storage analyzer and systemcleanup from the market and clean unused odex files in data/app search on xda or google next time.
the issue occurs when you install many programs and remove them but the allocation of storage is still there, i have never past 1gb on internal and i have gotten this issue many times
Hi. I have heard about this issue on Dorimanx kernel thread today. The Red blur stated that this could happen if you use an app crack tool like lucky Patcher and this could be the result of that.
Have you used this application as he recommended it was not good to use.

^^this
Its most likely user has used Lucky Patcher to patch a version of TB at some point and hasn't unpacthed data before installing a new version so it has caused issues with storage space rights.

Ok mate. We take your word for it
Ok here goes the solution.
This is very extreme.
First of all I see you are on an ics rom. Which one. Aokp, cm9, stock?
I was on ics a while ago and have since moved on to Rootbox jb 3.2 aokp. I found this to be the most stable and all round great aokp jb rom out at the moment.
You don't have to use this if you want stock then NeatROM Is a great brand of rom and is currently got a great release out based on official Samsung jb leak it has also ics based roms so if you want try one of these options for next rom.
Now before you try any of these.
I recommend you use a rom nuke script that will give your phone a good clean and get it ready for the flash.
The good thing about this is it will clear out a lot of junk and clean everything in android and rom.
But it won't wipe anything else on phone like music, pictures videos etc.
It will delete all apps and stuff like that but simply use titanium and back up important apps and data.
Also sync all your stuff to Google servers like contacts and also backup your sms.
So pick a good kernel.
If you are going to flash a rom that's not based off official stock leak then flash Dorimanx kernel.
Last good stable version I believe is 7.27.
1. Flash kernel clean script
Please read first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34879811
2. Flash Dorimanx
3. Reboot recovery
4. Flash Rom nuke script
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34887912
5. Flash rom
If aokp or cm9/10
6. Flash gapps
If stock then don't worry about above step as gapps comes inside rom
7. Clear delvik, cache and fix permissions
8. Reboot
And then after first boot restore apps but not data just yet. Select manually bit by bit the apps that you need the data for example apps like what's app, apex launcher settings etc..
And you should have a good clean working rom.
I will update this post with links to kernel and rom clean.

Not that I'm aware of I'm afraid.
Sometimes a corruption occurs at the rom level and it's sometimes hard to catch the buggers.
This will assure you a solid clean base to work from.
Questions what rom are you on you secretive bugger And kernel
And how long have you been on it for.
In time clutter, mods, etc can build up crap and conflict to create these annoying issues.
The time it will take to do all this and set your phone up back will be approximately 30 to 40 mins at most.
But it's your choice to follow or not.
I can't help any further.
Good luck

Fair enough. But again you have not answered the questions I have asked.

Much better
Why not try cleaning Google framework, Google play store data.
Flash kernel clean script.
Flash Dorimanx kernel.
Version 7.4.2 has been held in high regard or you can flash latest version.
Then reboot Recovery clear delvik, cache and fix permissions.
Give this a try.
Not as effective as my previous suggestion but it's something. ,

Log fils can be pretty safely deleted, and I am pretty sure it won't effect the system any way except the app which generated that file, and it won't corrupt anything.
For your information I just deleted everything I had in my log folder just to make sure and everything still works fine.
Using GT - I9100
I thank those who give helpful comments
I expect the same from others.
Well guys, believe it or not, deleting the contents of the /data/log folder fixed all my problems!!! I now have more than 1 GB of space:

So, there you go... If someone is having this issue this could be the source of those problems...
Appreciate a lot all your help!!!!

Hey,
I keep getting low storage errors. Running Cyanogenmod.
When I look at the local disk usage it only has 11303MB available with 7945 MB being taken up with System Data.
The phone is I9305. Should have 16GB local storage.
Is this normal?
Could something have duplicated that I need to delete?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers

Why is that one assumes that the poster has not spent anytime searching?
Anyway, thanks for the information, I am running it now.
Hopefully it works but not sure if it is going to remove the issue that the System Data is taking up a lot of space and keep getting messages about running out of disk space. Resulting in having to constantly manually manage the files on the phone. Which I didn't have to do before I rooted the phone? Still makes me think maybe there are duplicate files or something on the phone?

Nope, didn't work. I tried to copy the files as mentioned but it gives me an error:
The paste operation failed. It may be that there was not enough free space on the target file system.
And now I lost any free space that I had.
Searching would have found you several identical posts.
You need to carefully read the instructions and understand them before you started, copy and paste will indeed result in losing all free storage space.

Hello
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9300 Android version 4.3.
I had 200+ pictures in my internal storage DCIM folder. I didn't update the firmware or anything and all of a sudden all my Camera files are gone.
The files gone are the ones taken with my phone camera, other subdirectories inside the DCIM folder are perfect.
Anyone knows why this could happen and how to recover the files?
Thanks in advance

But if you get root acces go to data/media and check if your photos there if yes than move it from data/media to sdcard. Thats all i can do for you now sorry
I've had this happen twice. Seemed like it would do it after connecting it to my PC, and then poof, all internal pics gone. Very annoying, I did try to recover them and no luck. My guess is it had something to do with the version of the Samsung Kies at that time, it has not happened again but now I make sure my stuff is always uploaded to cloud storage.

Thank you. I looked for .nomedia files in the whole phone, found some 0 bytes files created 2-3 days apart on directories \GT-I9300\Phone\WhatsApp\Media\WhatsApp Voice Notes\xxxxxx
They are empty.
Also, I noticed that although the pictures got deleted, space hasn't been freed (I have the same free space as before when the pictures were there).
Which makes me think maybe the pictures didn't disappear...
More suggestions?
