hi
i opened this thread to see how long people's battry lasts and if theres a need to replace battery.
please mention your usuage and what rom you are using.
ill start off:
using Thjap version 18b stock kernel.
usage:
1 hour of music.
10 minutes calling
3g is on 3-4 hours a day
1 hour of utube video
wifi is on 4-5 hours a day
1 hours massaging.
overall : phone lasts from 8 am till 11 pm... pretty good .
ok
rom: Xperia X10S v.9
usage:
hsdpa all day (unlimited data plan ),synch with google, email, hotmail, whatsapp, network location services.
2 hours of music, whrn im working out,(pandora radio, dont ask me how i listen to a radio thats only available inside the U.S. )
sending whatsapp messages all day(like 5 hours per day)
reading my work emails
youtube videos almost 1hour
calling 30 mins
from 100% to 55% in 4-5 hours,at 1.pm i let my phone in peace.
i got home at 4 pm,then i do a second recharge,go to gym and return home with 80%,then i go to bed with almost 50%,when i get up its in 40%,then i do a full recharge, and the cycle starts again.
overall: from 100% to 0% in 8 hours of heavy usage
not bad for a medium heavy user, and a battery that has more than 2 years.
Nice!!!!
24h with normal usage... expensive usage 8 hours from 100% to 0%
I have a 1950mAh battery, on light usage about 3days. And medium usage about a day and a half and heavy 12hours on medium brightness.
Rom: donuthd with stock kernel.
Sent from my X10i using xda app-developers app
Mokee v.2: 3 hours in zenonia 4 gameplay non stop. 100-25%
24 hours if not gaming with normal osage(Sms and wifi-ing)
Nice eh?
Batterybay
Bought the 2600mah extended battery for X10 from Batterybay(.)net
light usage it actually goes 4 days and heavy usage in general it's 3 days or less, most usually 2
Because of the large screen(maybe?) reading manga or looking at a pic for a few hours, or basically just keeping screen on for a few hours drains it a lot, I recall reading manga for hours then it reduced to just 2 days or less but overall Im really satisfied this battery even if the extra thickness is quite compromise in looks
I think anything higher that 1900 would need a new back cover so I went for one which would keep it the same.

i'm on DonutHD rom with ferakernel, 998 mhz - 245 mhz on smartass v2/sio
i get two days of battery with light use.
Light usage=2 days, very low brightness, wifi on all day.
Heavy usage=damn it goes quick, maybe 2hrs the most.
Using the LG rom.

Running Paranoid Android (thanks to mcsqwizzy98) with smartassv2, 245mhz - 1036mhz.
-Light to moderate use (some data, some maps & navigation, few hours of wifi), I'm averaging around a day, maybe a little more.
-Heavy use it could be killed in less than 5 hours easily (wifi always on, playing games, bluetooth music).
DooMKernel V6 128 - 1113MHz
1800mAh Mugen Battery.
1hr watching TV (TVHeadend & TVHguide)
1hr email
4hrs RSS feeds in web browser
2hrs doing this and that.
Mostly get 24hrs with approx 20% left.
Rom: donut v2.2.9
Kernel: TH n5-1
Stock battery (1800mah mugen seems to be worth the try though)
Lowered voltages.
4-5 hours of listening to music via spotify (so it's streaming)
a few games, and online all the time.
I get around 15 hours from it with heavy usage.
On light usage: easely 24 hours

Hy,
Can anyone tell me what is your battery life when gaming ?
For me, with brightness at 80 % , I can only play 2 hours with riptide gp, and about 2.5 hours with shadowguns and dead trigger.
Is it the same for you ? At a similar brightness of course !
Mine is bout 3 hrs on nova 3

Mr awesome, 3 hours with auto brightness or with high brightness ?
Cause auto brightness is a bit low for me for good gaming...
3 Hours with low brightness, Critical Strike Portable(Online multiplayer) with WIFI enable.
People still play games on their phone?
Sent from my GT-I9305T using xda app-developers app
Thanks, I wanted to know the difference with the one x I own...
For me it's 2h10 to 2h30 with max brightness (dead trigger, nova 3 shadowguns) and about 2h30 to 3h00 with auto brightness, with my one x.
Of course with a light game like angry birds it last more

Mr awesome,
Thanks for the link.
Excuse me if I ask again, the 3 hours battery life(gaming) is with your 3000 mah battery ?

Yesterday I got 22 hrs battery life, 30 mins asphalt 7, 45 mins Bards Tale HD, 40 mins broken sword, 40 mins magic piano, 40 mins Nova 3, about half hour conversation, some texts browsing and 30 mins syncing as I put it on by mistake. Some YouTube vids, about 2 hours streaming spotify. And I downloaded batman from play store which took 45 mins for the 2gb download
Had 4 hours 22 screen on time and battery was at 22% when I plugged back into wall

Mind if I ask what Rom are you running.....?
Omega v28 running Siyah 1.7b6 overclocked to 1.6, undervolted -50 on all frequencies. Profiles for screen off, battery under 50%, and thermal over 50% all at 200-800mhz
Ran test yesterday and surprised myself Eire result. Usually I have to charge by 8pm. Didn't charge till 5 this morning when I got up

Does anyone have any ideas on how to reduce the ridiculous battery drain caused by playing this game on my Galaxy S3? It literally kills my phone in 90 minutes.

Its a full 3d ram and processor intensive game , what do you expect. This isn't Pac man .
So you play a game for over an hour and a half and expect a full battery? Use your head

No, I expect to play a game for an hour and a half and not have a dead phone. GTA 3 drains less than 50% battery if I play it for the same time.

I noticed the same thing. I can go for over an hour and a half (I have the S3 i9300, so I don't about you), but yeah, the drain is ridiculous compared to 3. The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that it's a more complex game (which it is), but it's not THAT much more graphically-complex than 3. Sure, cars have a sun-glare effect on them in the day light but that's about it. Hopefully I'm wrong and it's some kind of bug; performance is fine, even fully-maxed out (very smooth). But the drain is so high that my phone uses more power than it takes in while plugged in and playing. I cannot charge and play at the same time; it merely slows down the draining.
I really hope they fix this bug soon (if you could call it that). The graphics settings should be more scalable. When playing on my Galaxy S2 I can't see any major differences between the detail settings. Even on low detail + ~50% resolution settings I have to charge my 2000mAh battery twice a day!
I was astonished at how long my battery was lasting me! Check it out, this surprised me a lot!

My phone came off charge this morning at around 4am and because I was pretty busy, by 10am I'd only had about 15 minutes screen on time.
Expected time to use: 289 hours 21 Minutes
But most of my use is something like this
Battery 50% / Usage on Battery 11 Hours / Screen on 3 hours 50 Mins
32% 14 Hours 5 Hours
This is when mostly on wifi
On the one day I slammed the battery on commute to work I got down to around 30% after 13 Hours 40 minutes of use with 2 Hours 40 Screen On, but that included full brightness, only HSPA,streaming music.
Snapdragon 800 + this 3000mAh battery is something else.
Right, that's one of many reason why I bought this phone. I believe the new battery technology implement by Lg is not just a gimmick

Hi all, I just got my device and I can only get around 2h30min playing Anomaly Warzone 2 (some of the best graphics out there).
Compared to 11 hours of usage time amazon advertizes it pretty much supprises me,
Is it normal? Or I got a flawed device?
Gaming will always have am affect on the battery on the device. Have you tried letting the battery reset itself by letting it drain to 0% and then charging it back up to 100% before use?

I still haven't been to sleep so pardon my mistake.
But aside from my post about resetting the battery, if you are running a game that is very intensive then your battery life will drain very fast. But using a web browser you should at least get good battery life.
Also are you running high brightness on your device?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
11 hours is for basic use. Gaming soaks up CPU and GPU power like a sponge. I play quite a bit of Real Racing 3 and I easily eat up 10-20% of battery in about 10 races or so.

Yes I set the brightness to auto adjusting. I sat by my window in broad daylight so I guess the screen brightness is maxed out. But still it is kinda sad because my old Ipad Mini managed to get 4 hours of infinity blade 2 in same scenario.
I get about 5-6 hours browsing webs, facebook in, chatting... Etc... By the way.

The iPad is also basically an app drawer. iOS doesn't drain the battery as much as Android does.
