not sure bout that.. but i can confirm you that it does effects the compass sensor...
simple remedy for it, is that you just need to remove the magnet at the upper right (both sides) of the case...
the magnet at the lower part can be left alone...

Case disables g-sensor?

I'm trying to work out why my Hero's g-sensor doesn't work when it's in its case
(This case www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B002Q0ZDRC/ref=dp_otherviews_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&img=5)
I don't know if it's the specific case or the style of case.
Any ideas?
magnetic clip maybe? its known to affect sensors on mobile phones.
It appears to just grab the phone top and sides to hold it in a shallow tray, but I'll check for magnets.

It looks like it is magnetically closed, as opposed to velcro or a snap. That would throw off the g-sensor I think.
That appears to be it - as well as a magnet in the thingy on the flap, there's one in the case too. Maybe the second magnet was cheaper to use than some basic serious metal, but it makes the case fail.
Again, this might be the reason why the case wad so cheap.
Many thanks

Question about the two small holes on the back cover of the phone.

I read the other posts about this regarding the HTC Sensation, they explained it as being a hole used for noise cancellation. My issue is, if you pop the back cover off there are no sensors underneath the holes.
Can anyone explain what they are for? I'm kind of intrigued by them....

the holes are there because that metal contact on the other side of the cover needs to be pushed through the plastic because the secondary LTE antenna is actually molded inside the plastic of the battery cover. Those holes allow the contact to make contact with the antenna.

Gloves Preventing Palm Detection

I now have the screen and stylus set up where I can draw decently on the Prime, but am having issues with palm detection. I have the app TouchScreenTune and have palm rejection on, but it still registers it sometimes.
I was wondering, is there a glove or partial glove that prevents palm detection? I know that any glove with non-conductive materials should do this normally, but I have been able to have access the screen even with these.
What do you all do normally to stop palm detection?

I know this isn't the most helpful answer but:
Don't touch the screen with my palm.
If you are using an app like TouchScreen Tune to crank the sensitivity of your screen to increase performance, maybe turn it down a bit. If I put a thin piece of cloth over the screen none of my touches register so I don't know if you are doing something different that makes the screen work through your glove.

What a novel idea!
I used to have a windows tablet with an active digitizer and didn't have to worry about anything showing up except the pen. It's just something I'll have to train myself to watch out for.
I just got TouchScreenTune last week and am still tweaking it, so that might take care of some of it. I have Sketch Book Mobile set up now so that diagonal lines are smooth and not stair-step shaped and it seems that the Prime will make a decent sketching tablet.
I had thought of this as well while testing out stylus and hand written notes. Just to test the theory I tried with thin 100% cotton t-shirt. Two layers of that material and touches were totally blocked. My thought was that if you had a cotton glove of thick enough material it would be perfect. Also you could either cut off the fingertip of the index finger of your writing hand or replace it with touchscreen friendly material so you could still do finger touches on screen with that hand. I know I've seen companies selling thin touchscreen friendly gloves before so you could cut a fingertip off one of those and sew into the cotton glove perhaps.
Buy some cheap gloves made of thin material, cut off the fingers.
You should not register touches with light pressure by the palms. Take a piece of paper and place it over your touchscreen and see if that responds at all. It barely does with my phone and I was stabbing at it with my fingers.
Buy capacitive gloves...

Er... this is the exact thing the OP does not want.
I've used winter gloves with the fingers cut out... I can put pictures up if anyone wants.
The problem is, it depends on your set sensitivity. If you have the touchscreen sensitivity app, you can adjust the sensitivity and the problem for me is that when I increase the sensitivity so that it works best with the Adonit Jot Pro... the screen actually can pick up my palm through the gloves.

The point is that for handwriting like you would with pen and paper palm rejection sucks on the ATP. By having a thin insulating glove you resolve this issue. And with the right glove material you could clean your screen while writing.

Which is what I was thinking. I'm going to throw something together this weekend and see how it works. Its not a life or death kind of thing. It would be nice though to draw on this thing like you can with paper without acting like the screen is lava.

Okay, well that's a result.
I turned TouchScreenTune off, grabbed a cheap knit glove and a screen cleaning cloth, quick stitched one to the other, and tested it. Through the cloth and glove, the screen is still picking up palm touches. Which must mean that the cloth I used is capacitive in some way.
Meh.
You should buy the stylus handpad. It do just what you want, and come with a stylus pen.
I think it's easier and more conformable to put on compare to glove, especially in the summer time.

Orzly premium tempered glass screen protector ( £9.95 +£1.95 shipping) review

Bought it from e-bay UK for £9.95 + £1.95 shipping. Arrived promptly.
Nicely packaged, with the same premium quality feeling than the almost three times
more expensive Spigen equivalent product I ordered for a Note 1 some time ago.
Very easy to install with the included dust remover film, alcohol swab & cleaning cloth, as well as very easy to follow instructions
Fits perfectly on the Note 3. Just one minor annoyance : it contained iPhone round colored button covers...

this is disappointing to me because on the items description it made me believe the whole front was covered with only holes for ffc and sensors...appreciate the review now im still on the hunt...almost bought one today too.
what i looking for: tempered glass screen protector that covers the whole front of the phone with cut outs for speaker, and button. and holes for ffc and both front sensors.

Rawready, actually I wonder whether such a large cutoff at the top of the phone is not
a good design tradeoff : on my previous Note 1 the upper part of the Spigen glass protection
got broken within a few weeks of use.

Rawready,
Maybe some lint or dust might get caught, still the cut out looks OK to me.
About the old one, the first time I dropped it, the thin glass band on top of the speaker cut out broke.

i see what your saying...the glass was thin between the speaker and sensor holes so it seemed for fragile in your experience...

Not so much between the speaker and sensor holes but rather on top of the speaker hole.

The screen protector does thicken the phone slightly and is a bit noticeable, though the added protection trade off seems good to me.
The tactile sensation is excelent.

Hey,
Thank you for answering. Just a little question, do you use the S view cover ? Because I just want to know if this screen protector is compatible ( ie you can close the S view cover) with the case.

What's that on screen?

I picked this Gear S up used yesterday. I noticed this weird area circled below. You can only see it if you wipe your finger over and grease gets on it. Is that a Crack or some weird light sensor?
Sorry for the pic quality. It was hard capturing the right angle in the light.
You said it is used, is there a screen protector already on it, as that could be an air bubble beneath the protector?
That's a crack or scratch dude. There is no sensors up there.

Didn't think a sensor was up there. Its not a scratch....at least I can't feel it with my finger nails. Could the digitizer underneath by cracked? I saw a Youtube video of a dude putting the Gear S in a bag with a bunch of stuff and throwing it in the dryer. You'd think the previous owner would have had to do something crazy or very specific to make a crack
