Hi XDA:
I still have the Avatar movie on external sd card, pushed the avatar.apk file to /system/apps, and made sure the proper movie sub directory was copied from an old back up to my internal sd card under the sd card directory. Still getting ' file not found' when click Avatar icon. I can watch the movie using the video player and I'm sure this is something small that I've forgotten, and I researched other threads regarding this issue but cannot find an answer. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. I'm currently running Nero v3. Cheers.

Same issue. I was never able to figure it out so I just use the video player to launch it.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would really be appreciated. I am selling one of my Vibrants as I've just purchased a Nexus S and I'm trying to get this working for them before I ship it. Thanks again

This has to do with the different ways 2.1 and 2.2 name the external sd card - 2.1 calls it "sd" or "sdcard" (can't remember...been a while since 2.1), while 2.2 calls it "external_sd." So, you need the Avatar apk that has the correct name in the movie filepath.
The attached apk's should solve your problem. If you are running a 2.2 rom, then use the one I attached named "Avatar_22." Push it to your system/app just like you were doing before.
Disclaimer: I did not make the 2.2 compatible Avatar shortcut. I had this same issue and found it somewhere on this site, but figured I'd just share the apk instead of trying to search out the original source. If this makes someone mad, let me know and I'll give the proper credit or remove it - whichever you prefer.
Awesome.. Exactly what I needed and I'll give it a whirl once I arrive home from work. Thanks.

Worked perfectly already tested it here. Thanks so much, I'll +1 to your thanks meter once I can get to my home computer. Cheers.

Thank you. That fixed my issue too.

I have a Samsung Epic 4g and just recently while trying to download third party apps or anything outside of the Android Market I get the error: Memory Card Does Not Exist. Has anybody ever had this error? Please help!!!!
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I've got the sd card does this before just the restart your phone and see if your sd card is back using a file browser.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yea I tried to reboot but still its giving me errors
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Does file explorer find the sd card? Is the sd shown as mounted in the settings?
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Yes it finds it, its just every time I time I try to download something from one of those downloading sites, it just goes to memory card does not exist. Is my sd car corrupted or something?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Well you might need to format your sd card, or not use third party markets...
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
How do you reformat your card? Do I lose everything that is saved on my card when I do?
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
Yes, a reformat wipes the sd. To reformat you can do it from recovery by mounting sd and formating or from the settings menu

Please download another app from Android market and see if this error also appears.
Thats the weirdest part about this. I can download from the market just fine, its just gives me the memory card does not exist when I go to download a zip from one of those file sharing sites.

Is it possible that the problem comes from the the app itself, maybe you can try another app from the same site or another one from the shared links. It happens to me sometime, and I will just let it go and try something else.
Thats what I thought too but thats not it. It gives me that error whenever I download from any of those file sharing sites. I tried to download Roms, Music, Etc with no luck... It just keeps saying Memory Card Does Not Exist.

Use the Site search and you'll find dozens of threads on it, and search for App called Directory Bind because that's what you need if your phone's Rooted.
U have already posted this there

If you're not rooted then you're out of luck.
Well... I would not call it out of luck because technically the Move-to-SD option is no longer necessary since the apps are already stored on the internal storage and no longer in their own small /data partition.

Hı guys and girls. I have been having a problem lately. A few days ago All my whatsapp images disappeared or maybe even deleted then today all my screenshots are gone. I'm a first time Android user and have no clue what's going on.
No one has used my phone and I am 100% sure I haven't accidently deleted anything.
Has this happened to anyone?
If you have no backup you can try to recover using a tool like RECUVA .
jje
This happened to me too on my LG Optimus 2x with CM7.
All gallery images were gone except a few when I opened my gallery from the camera.
Anyways, managed to restore the images on the computer using some image undeleter or whatever. Haven't found any solution yet.
I'm waiting for a stable CM9 or CM10 release to flash my phone. Time to clean up.

Thanks for the replies. What are some good recovery apps? I searched for recuva in the play store but nothing came up. I also tried undelete app and that only does external sd cards.

Hmmm don't know about you but when I connect any of my devices to the computer with media device/usb storage option i get the internal storage mounted too. Maybe you should take a look at your settings.

Have you either used the method posted regarding re-partitioning the nook to get most of the space back that B&N originally screwed us out of with their stupid 1GB user content partition or have you taken it to B&N to re-partition it?
If no, then while the answer is Yes to your original question, you haven't left yourself much room(1GB vs. I think the repartitioning from B&N frees up 8GB).
As for how to save to it, use a file explorer such as ES File Explorer, you need to navigate to favorties, press the phone icon, then choose mnt/media. My card has the Nook created folder structure so I save everything to the appropriate sub-folder found under My Files. Books, documents, magazines, etc etc
How do repartition..i tried using the guides and videos but i couldnt get it....i went into cmd and everything but when i put in adb devices i got a "00000000000 recovery"

There are posts explaining what you need to. If they aren't working for you then your best bet is to back everything up, put it back to the stock OS and take it to B&N for them to do it.
I really just wanted to get cm10 with cwm 6 but i wanted more memory available

You arent getting more memory your getting more space. Memory and storage are 2 different components. After reviewing many of your posts, you need to read A LOT more before you start tackling these upgrades. Without the repartitioning you are leaving a ton of storage off the board so to speak. If I were in your shoes I would, if rooted or custom rom'ed put it to stock and take it to a local store to have them re-partition it. It takes about 10 mins. Then when that is completed and you have a fresh nook so to speak, load CM 10
Thats what i meant.....because there is like 11 gb of space therr just waiting to be used and i cant...

I already have. Follow the post explaining it, as they do an excellent job or take it to B&N if you are having issues with ADB. It isn't for everyone to use, especially beginners just getting the hang of playing around in Android.
But did you ever encounter like code 000000 recovery.....it didnnt even say device...did i do something wrong?

I let B&N repartition mine. The instructions for repartitioning came out about the same time the offer from B&N was available. I had to go past a store so I just made it easy.
This link should have everything you need, If not look up posts by Lavero.Burgos for other helpful posts regarding doing things.

Aside from that note....once you repartition it basically lets you use the like 11 gb of memory thats just there?

If you do it manually, then yes. You'll even be able to choose how much storage you want divided between that data partition and the internal SD card.
So if i manage to repartition sucessfully....if i update my cwm and rom...its still repartitioned and stays repartitioned right?

Yes, that's correct. You're modifying the actual disk where that information is stored.
