I'm on the stock based rom URevo. Like the title says, my 3g will randomly drop and turn into 1x mode. I know this may happen when sending or receiving a text but this is not the case. I can be stationary with a full 3g signal browsing the website when all of a sudden the 3g drops to 1x mode and the data becomes super slow. Does anyone have any ideas?

My wife and I both have the Eris with the V3 leak. We live in a bad are in Pennsylvania as far as mobile signal is concerned and even our phone coverage is through an extended network. We have always had 1x mobile signal in our house and starting yesterday, I have started getting a 3G signal at home but she still gets 1x. Has anybody experienced this before? I live in 18337 are code. I have tried turning her mobile on and off, turning the phone off, but hers comes back to 1x. We have had the phones for about 6 months and have always had really slow 1x signal at home.
I have noticed, that when i am in a strong wifi signal, my phone goes to edge but as soon as I walk far enough away from the wifi signal I get 3G or Hsdpa
I tested also by turning off my modem at home and the same thing happens as soon as I turn it off I get 3g signal........... curious,

Is there any way to increase the timeout before the connection is dropped on an unused data connection? It seems to me at the moment if you don't use a fast 'H' data connection for more than 30 seconds, it drops to '3G' and becomes unusable, often leading to timeouts as it tries to connect back to 'H' when you try to use it again. It makes for a truly abysmal non-wifi browsing experience that even my old HTC Artemis beats hands down.
I realise this is more than likely about saving battery life but I'd rather take the hit on that and it just connect to the fastest available connection and stay on it until it either loses the signal or is turned off manually. Pretty much like every other phone I have used does.

For the past couple months I've had issues with my data. It only happens at the areas where I go on break at work too. The thing is my signal shows full bars but runs slower than edge. It doesn't happen anywhere other than at work. I've tried rebooting my phone, switching to 2g and back, going into airplane mode and back and nothing seems to fix it. It's just confusing me because it's showing that I have a strong signal but my speeds are terrible. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

Never had issues before but today I'm noticing that my 3g speeds are insanely slow/flaky(takes forever just to load google.com). Wifi works great, calls fine, text fine. mms slow as dirt. It is very intermittent. Sometimes if I run speedtest it flies, sometimes halfway through it pauses for 20 seconds and continues. Anyone else seeing 3g flakiness today? 4g seems ok oddly but I normally lock in 3g mode. Area I'm in is Baltimore, MD.
