For the past couple months I've had issues with my data. It only happens at the areas where I go on break at work too. The thing is my signal shows full bars but runs slower than edge. It doesn't happen anywhere other than at work. I've tried rebooting my phone, switching to 2g and back, going into airplane mode and back and nothing seems to fix it. It's just confusing me because it's showing that I have a strong signal but my speeds are terrible. Anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this?

I've had this problem for awhile. Randomly drop signal, calls, data stop working. The signal drop lasts a few seconds then comes back. I never get the x as in no signal at all, but no bars. This has happened with several roms. Anyone else have this trouble? I can have my phone next to another phone and they will have perfect signal and mine has none.
Does anyone get it where they lose signal and it doesn't come back even though you know your in a good reception area? I have to restart my phone sometimes because it doesn't seem to start scanning for signal. I can go from no signal or data to full signal and 3g just by restarting the phone.
It happened with my HTC Desire sometimes too but flicking flight mode on and off sorted it with that phone
I have the Sprint SGS III, and have been happy with its network and wifi performance up to this point. However, randomly, my phone started to not connect to WiFi. I was concerned, so I restarted it, hoping that would fix it. It did not. Then, I tested to see if it would connect if it was right next to the router, and voila, it did. But as soon as it was more than ten feet or so away, it would lose signal, and the strength deteriorated very rapidly from moving away from the router. I also tried booting into CyanogenMod from recovery, but the issue was still there. Has anyone else experienced this?
Is there a way to reset the wifi firmware, or something to that effect? Or should I assume that it's a hardware issue?
For the last week or so I have been having this problem, which is why I have been searching the site and have also tried several modem/ril combinations. My signal is strong and downloads speeds good, generally, but every twenty minutes or so my data drops yet I am still showing strong signal but the bars are grey. Apparently its something to do with losing connection with Google servers? So how do I resolve this?
Any ideas please?

i have noticed that if i leave the phone idle for any amount of time the internet connection knocks off .
this happens randomly but far to frequent to ignore,a couple of times a day.
the 4g signal remains in place and i don't have the phone in 'standby intelligent power saving' mode in battery settings either.
the only way to fix it is to reboot or turn on and off airplane mode.
sim card is sitting in the slot 2 and worked perfectly fine in my previous phone.
anyone else having issue with it ?

No, but did you the typical way of solving? Factory reset ? Strange behaviour indeed

In the process as i type to back it all up and reset the phone..
Im pretty sure the problem was there before the last big update .
I didn't factory reset when i received the phone so hoefully solves it.

Is there any update on that factory reset? Did it fix the issue or is there another fix to increase data coverage reception. Ive tried changing the band to my area and Ive noticed a slight increase in reception.
I got my phone yesterday and i have this problem as well, it keep dropping the service and jumping in to roaming and i cannot turn off data roaming. This phone is useless if cannot use data... Wifi works tho...
