Hello everyone, I have a problem with flashing CM10 on my Evo 3D. I bought it with ICS Stock, after that I unlocked it with HTCdev and juopunutbear method. Then I flashed Yoda 6.0 without problems. Unfortunately, when I tried to flash any other ROM with 4.0.3 or higher (apart from MIUI4) the phone used to get bootloop on bootscreen. I really wanted to run CM10, so i tried few times in such a way: Nandroid of Yoda 6.0=>Wipe All=>Wipe Caches=>Flash from SD and I always got that bootloop.
Can U help me how to solve that problem?
My soft:
S-Off
Hboot-1.53.7777
Radio:11.25.3504.06_M
BTW, sorry for my pour English
Your hboot is the problem. u can easily downgrade to 1.49 using this method:

after that flash cm10. do full wipe first.

Hello there,
to describe my problem i guess i have to write a bit of my evo's rooting biography.
I decided to get a root to my EVO. Read a tutorial and stuff , it stated that its not recommended to do S-OFF so I didn't. With unlocked bootloader via HTCdev and flashed cwm recovery , I tried to flash a ROM. It didn't work ... bootloop , HTC screen freeze , etc. I've tried a LOT of ROMs , didn't have a backup of my stock one. Finally , I installed the Viper3D rom , it didn't work until I flashed their kernel for shooteru manually from command line in Windows.
OK so from there I had EVO 3D HBOOT 1.53 S-ON with Viper3D rom.
The thing is , I wanted to overclock. I read somewhere , that to overclock , I need custom kernel and to flash that I need S-OFF. So I decided to do the wiretrick. Unlimited.io states that I should use STOCK rom. After a while , I find a stock rooted ICS rom for EVO 3D. Tried to flash it , I flashed the kernel also manually from cmd , nothing... boot stuck at "HTC quietly brilliant". So I downloaded some stock GB rom. Flashed it , the kernel too. Guess what ? BOOT LOOP.
After that , I restored my backup in recovery and I'm running with S-ON on Viper3D.
Also : I tried RUU executive too , but it doesn't work.(rom update utility cannot update your android phone).
And now I'm here , looking for some help. Could somebody tell me what the hell is wrong with my phone ?
Phone info : HTC EVO 3D GSM
Bought in Europe (Slovakia)
H-BOOT 1.53
HTCdev unlocked
S-ON
Thanks for all the answers that will help me,
Chastter
Hey guys i was wondering if anyone knows why i can't flash any roms other than SENSE i have Hboot 1.57 s-off rooted. i can also downgrade toH boot 1.40 & 1.50 s-off aswell, but still unable to flash CM10 OR JB roms. i originaly got s-off with the wire trick, but i keep getting boot loops with non-sense roms,i tried several recoveries , TEAMWIN 4ext ETC..NO LUCK. sorry for the long post. thank
I had an issue with the jb roms boorlooping no matter what and fixed it by running the ruu.exe. You won't lose s-off either.
1. Connect to computer and run the ruu in fastboot.
2. Flash custom hboot (1.4 or 1.04 for jb roms).
3. Flash custom recovery (I prefer 4ext)
4. Flash jb ROM of your choice
This worked for me, hopefully it works for you.

Hello,
My device is unbranded, it was S-ON with HBOOT - 1.49.0018, I was having problems with booting any ROM (except LeeDrOiD). Then i downgraded the HBOOT to - 1.49.0007 with Flashmaniac's tool. Then i made S-OFF with (http://www.androidcentral.com/how-get-s-recovery-and-root-htc-evo-3d-revolutionary), after which the H-BOOT become 1.49.1107 (don't know if this is normal). After that i tried flashing ROMs (yodas_ICS_v6.0, Cool-ICS-v14-EvoG, NonSense_400) with ClockworkMod and with 4EXT (even i tried with enabled Smart Flash on 4EXT), but the result was the same - boot loop. The only ROM that i can flash is LeeDrOiD. I'm already desperate, is there anything left that can be made? Please help!
Thank you in advance
i'm not sure but i think that it will help you
(find in youtube "How to Flash Boot img For HTC EVO 3D using fastboot(boot errors fix)")
your problem is old firmware my friend.
flash this in bootloader: http://d-h.st/Mf1
Can you link me the safest guide to do that ? And one more thing what will happen with the S-OFF after updating the firmware, i mean do i need to worry for something?
Thank you in advance!
Theres no big deal. Just download and put on the root of your sdcard. Then reboot into bootloader and it will detect the pg86img. Just press the button for ok and it will flash firmware. After that you can boot into recovery and flash any rom. S-off isnt affected, neither is your hboot

It worked man! Thanks for everything you solve my 2 months problem
Yesterday I turned my EVO 3D S-Off...
(Thanks to this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1563342)
...and it worked flawlessly. After that, I had my phone running on 1.13 stock rom. Then I tried to flash 2.17 deodexed stock rom (from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420206)
I wiped/formatted every partition except for sdcard through 4ext (smartflash enabled) and then I flashed the rom, but it ended in bootloops.
I tried again doing the same but with Smartflash disabled and the bootloops remained. I also thought I could install a new stock rom using an RUU.exe, but I didn't just 'cause I don't know if that will turn S-On again or if I could downgrade again my HBoot after the update.
I know that for most of you this may be a really newbish problem, but I'm kinda new with S-Off related things. Any help you could bring me will be really appreciated.

Try flashing another kernel, if im not wrong you still on hboot 1.40. And you will need kernel that match with your hboot.

If you are S-OFF then you dont need smart flash enabled. Just download the rom on your PC and put it on your SD card so you can try installing again, just make sure you have hboot 1.50 or under.
I am unlocked, s-off and currently on hboot 1.5 and no matter what i try i cant get any jb rom to boot. Ive tried hboot 1.4 as well as 1.04 with no luck. I am currently running a ICS rom and im not sure if it helps but my radio version is 0.97.10
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

you definently need to be off of the 1.5x.xxx hboots, use 1.04 or 1.40 thats a guarentee, also try using a diferent JB rom or diferent recovery or both, and always do a full system, boot, data, and cache wipe before any rom install. my recomendations are hboot 1.04 extended and 4ext recovery.
worst case senario run a ruu from shiped roms .com then re flash the hboot and recovery and try again

I cant seem to find the 1.04 hboot any were, would you happen to have a link?- found it nevermind
FWIW 1.50 is fine. Many people use it including myself. Running pac rom.
1.57 and 1.58 however are not compatible.
So I figured I would post how I fixed this since Ive yet to see this fix in the forum. I tried flashing different RUUs and just about everything else under the sun and kept boot looping. So as a last ditch effort I just took out my sd card and everything worked fine. So I decided to format it through another phone on windows and everything works great now. I havent tried flashing another JB rom yet but I assume that this was the original problem
