Just got my 5.0 and I want to try a different ROM. I looked but couldn't find a page with the stock ROM. Also I got it used. Is there a way to find out if the ROM on here is stock or not? Is there a way of imaging what u have currently so that uf there is something I don't like that I can go right back to what I have now?
In terms of installing a different ROM, do I need to root first? And what is this CM10 that I see? Do I need to install it as well?
Thanks!
What player do you have? international or Korean or US? Either way I think there are stock roms for all three

It should be the US version. It says YP-G70 on the back. I didn't see a thread for the stock ROM on the Android Development page.
Also does anyone know anything about making an image of my current setup?
Thanks
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1520728 there is the stock rom for the US. US one is the one with capacitive buttons. The international one has a hard home button if I am not mistaken. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922461 this thread explains you on how to flash things with Odin/Heimdall

thanks bro.i might sell this so i need stock kernel.i want to make it completly stock
if you are trying to remove traces of custom kernel/rom then the easiest way was to reflash the stock rom.if you want a stock rom then there is a site where you can download it but you has to register(its free) to download,Links:http://www.mod2xtreme.com/showthread.php?t=11661.you might lose your data so backup.
My girlfriend has one of these tablets (the 5.0 model) and I love it so I'm ordering one tomorrow. Straight away I'm going to want to be flashing a custom ROM to it. Can someone point me to information for this device? I've flashed many Samsung Android devices before with Odin and what have you.
Cheers.

Thanks, i thought as much. Whats the deal with them being bricked? I remember reading about an EFS.tar?
Sent from my YP-G70 using XDA
Bricking means that your device will not work. Its best that you backup ur device before flashing incase it happens and you need to install a custom kernal to using Odin.

Hi,
Yes, you can flash the AT&T firmware to the Rogers Note. I have flashed many firmwares onto my Rogers Note with no issues so far. Just make sure that you follow the steps completely or else you risk having a bricked device.
Do you know where theres a guide I cant find anything on how to do it

Do you have something to flash roms with? Like TWRP2 or CWM?
If so, the steps are pretty straight forward for most roms:
1) Wipe Cache / Factory Reset
2) Install ROM
3) Wipe Cache/Dalvik
Sometimes there can be a Step 2b where you need to flash GAPPS.
If you don't have TWRP2 or CWM (I prefer TWRP2) you can find it here for the Note:
TWRP2
EDIT: These are the steps are what I've seen for ATT roms on Rogers. I have an ATT Note and cannot confirm this for you, but I've seen others have success.

Please hit Thanks if it did.
That doesn't help you. That is a link on how to root but it doesn't include the necessary steps for a Canadian Note. Go here to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1775263
Then install your ROM. You didn't mention if you wanted rooted, debloated, or completely stock. :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740367
Completly stock unrooted
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Does the same process work to put it on tmobile?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
Yes. You will have to root the phone first to put another carrier's firmware on the phone. And then you will have to find the ROM of your choice. Most unrooted stock ROMs are going to be odin flashable *.tar files. And I don't believe they can be flashed to a different phone. Your best choice in my opinion would be to look for a stock rooted version that can be flashed by a custom recovery.
Is there a way to change the baseband its still showin rogers baseband version but everything is working except software upgrade

All you have to do is install the ATT ICS UCLF5 modem through CWM.

I dont have a custom recovery installed
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Well you didnt want that modem anyway. You want UCLF6. If you flashed using odin there should have been a new modem installed too. Will have to look for the radio to be flashed by odin. Searching now.
Here is a link for the entire UCLF6 ROM with the modem(baseband) included: http://www.hotfile.com/dl/162779447/3bb6230/I717UCLF6_I717ATTLF6_ATT.zip.html

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda premium
Sorry I really can't help you anymore than that. I originally thought you couldn't even flash a stock ROM through odin on a different carrier's phone but I now believe you can. And if you can then that ROM I directed you to would have wiped and made your phone to look exactly like the ATT version including the baseband. You followed that tutorial to a tee? Did you use odin to install the ATT ROM originally? Must be something we are missing here. Hope one of the pros chime in.
Yea used odin for all eveything is at&t except the baseband

Hello,o
I have INT Samsung Galaxy S wifi 5.0 with 2.2.2 froyo. I want to flash it with USA gingerbread 2.3.5 stock rom.Is it possible ? It works ? or bricks device ?
Thanks
That's not a good idea. It would most likely cause your home button to stop working and a brick. Only flash your device's stock rom and no one elses.
