Netflix doesn't have these, have tried side loading Amazon Video with the correct APK's and library files, but fore closes on payment pages,

I rented a movie from the Market. When I attempted to play it I received the following message "Playback not supported on rooted devices (Error 49)" Am I SOL on renting movies from the Market? Does anyone have any other suggestion for renting a movie, or renting, downloading and watching it offline?

idk if anyone else has put the new market on their tablet but i did and was trying to get the videos app to play on it but its throwing an error and wont load i was wondering if anyone has found a fix for this or if it is an issue with the tablet not being google certified.Anyone have any ideas on a fix?
That has nothing to do with the Market, as it is working for "everyone" else.

i mentioned the new market only because the video rental is a feature of the new market i knew that wasnt the cause but ive tried three different movies and im using the videos app in the market i was thinking it just doesnt support archos but i wasnt sure do you know of any other ways to play videos rented from the market on the tablet other than the videos app? also i tried rebooting and its actually occurred on two different 101s cuse i just got my replacement today
Where did you state that you are talking about the new google video rental?
As this is ( if it would work ) only available in the us, i can't helop you there.
That's what I meant by the videos app I was referring to theories rental service but the videos app is the player used to play the rented videos from the market
Could you please try to talk in a way that someone outside your head could get what you are talking about?

Is that Google Videoplayer not working or is the "normal" Videoplayer not able to play the google encrypted and drm'ed videos?

I hope this is the correct forum for my query, apologies if it isn't. I had a look before posting but my query is quite unique.
When i play streams through dedicated apps such as Tvcatchup on 4.0.4 (live streaming of UK Freeview channels in a standalone app), streams play flawlessly.
But when I try to play streams within browsers, the video is very jerky (sound is great though).
My next thought was to try and play the network stream directly through a player such as VLC. When I look at the source of the web page containing the embedded player on a streaming site, i get rtmpe:// and http://****.m3u8 links.
Tried to play both via the network stream option in VLC for android (beta) and nothing happens. When I play them on a PC, i get errors. Looking at the playlist.m3u8 file within text editor, it creates a session ID (i am guessing linked to your logon to the website as a way to authenticate users) and tags it onto the end of the .m3u8 URL.
If anyone got previous experience in this area and can offer any advice would be really appreciated.

Does anyone know how I can make a video player such as mx player to start automatically with an android box and open a net address on which to "read" the movie?
Manual I managed without problems.
In fact, I want to put my android tv box to run a video hosted on a fixed address on the web.
For example, someone turn on the box and tv and the film starts to run automatically.

Hi All,
I've just bought the following TV box from Amazon and am seeing some strange behaviors from Plex.

1) when playing some videos it will pause for a second and then the video will play at a faster rate, while the audio plays normally.
2) a video with directors commentary on it, plays this even though it's not selected.
3) TV Player is installed and summertime if I watch a TV channel first and then use Plex, I sometimes get the audio from the TV show busy into life over the menus in Plex and sometimes over the video.
With the same version of plex on my tablet, Nexus 10, I don't see this behavior. Any ideas if I can fix this our should I just return it?
