Red hue in AOKP? - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This has happened to me in both ICS and JB.
I'm using cwm_fixed_for_cm7-odin.rar, wiping data, flashing AOKP and GAPPS and rebooting.
Everything that supposed to be white is a light red/pinkish color.
What's causing this?
Thanks in advance!

Not sure if this will matter, but are you wiping cache and davlik cache too? I always wipe 3 when doing a clean install

How did you flash it? Did you do it through ROM Manager? Did you wipe data and cache? Something's not quite right, the bloatware should be gone.
i am having the same issue. are you also missing stuff like the notification power control widget?
io flashed mine from cwm and wiped everything.

i was only installing BAMF Remix Patch 1.6.2 not realinzing it is only a patch to BAMF Remix v1.6!!!
i booted into ClockworkMod
everything now appears to be as expected for the ROM
thanks for your help.
it looks like this worked. when it first boots though the wallpaper is black with a red streak but then changes to the default wallpaper from stock. is that normal?
That got me closer to everything being 100%. I installed Remix 1.6 and 1.6.2 and I noticed changes like the battery indicator and the market being black (very nice, btw), but I still have bloat & the notification bar is missing. Wiped Dalvic Cache both times, wiped data fully when I installed the main BAMF 1.6 at the start of this.

I had this same exact issue. The cause of mine was installing through ROM Manager. I was wiping everything that should be just like you are it sounds. The fix I found was rebooting into recovery and flashing manually. There is an option in ROM manager to reboot into recovery. Once you are into recover wipe data/cache three times. Wipe cache partition three times. Wipe Davlik Cache(Under advanced menu) three times. I usually wipe three just to be sure everything is clean before I flash. Flash 1.6. Now load 1.6.3(since it's out now) onto the SD card. Boot into recovery again, wipe cache partion and davlik cache three times. Install 1.6.3.

I did the install through the ROM manager, so I'm hoping your solution works out. I'll give it a try this evening. Thanks for the suggestion!

Actually I just looked and 1.6.3 is an entire rom instead of a patch so you can skip flashing 1.6. And just flash 1.6.3 after wiping data/cache/davlik cache.

I had the same issue and this worked for me. I just reflashed 1.6.3 directly from CWR (after wiping everything 3x) and everything worked correctly (notification widget, etc.)
thanks for the help
I am glad I found this, I had this same issue and it was driving me nuts. I'm reinstalling now and hopefully everything just comes out perfect.
I am adding this to my list of why I don't like RM.

[Q] MIUI Flashing Error

For some reason when I flashed MIUI the touch screen didn't work... I made sure I wiped data, cache, dalvik cache before I installed... is anyone else having this problem? Thanks in advance

Using CM7 nightly (cm_p500_full-34) stuck in boot loop

Hello, I just rooted, and then tried to flash the latest nightly onto my P500H from Koodo.
Now whenever I boot, it's just stuck in the spinning arrow. At first it resets the boot but after 1 or 2 tries the arrow will just get stuck.
I can get into clockworkmod recovery, but there is error message saying: Bad boot message "recovery".
Now, first time I did this I didn't wipe cache partition, but then I did wipe it but same thing happens.
Any ideas?
Did you wipe Data?

When you change ROM or kernel, you have to wipe, at least, cache and dalvik cache.
Since I wipe data most of the times, I don't know if Gingerbread 2.3.7 can handle data from 2.3.3, so I would recommend you to try first wiping the 2 caches I mentioned then, if unsuccessful, wipe data.
BTW, this 'bad boot' message on recovery is the same to everyone. I'm no technician on the subject, but you can simply ignore it.
No I only wiped cache partition.
should I also do wipe data/factory reset?

First you try wiping only cache and dalvik cache. Then, if you're still stuck, you try wiping data.

[Q] Dalvik Cache Wipe

Just rooted my SGS3. Was wondering if I wiped the dalvik cache, would I face any problems?

At opposite, sometimes it can be resolutive (e.g. after flash a custom kernel, to try to solve an unknown problem), but at bootup you've to wait until DK is regenerated for all the applications and system components.
