I have long strived to acheive an AOSP look for my XPU, but without loosing some of the actually good Sony apps, like their calculator, calendar, clock and Walkman. This and performance are my primary goals.
I present you my edits (I will explain the reasoning for some further on):
framework-res.apk — default themes changed to Holo, all Sony themes converted to use Holo, removed music buttons from the lockscreen, Sony themes only change icon accents and illumination bar color (no colored backgrounds)
SystemUI.apk — AOSP status bar icons, removed battery percentage
system_fonts.xml — system font reverted to Roboto
I removed the lockscreen buttons, firstly, because I use the AOSP locker (remove unxt.....) and the buttons are poorly aligned (I know there is a fix); and, secondly, because there is a permanent notification from the Walkman app, where you can press play/pause/next/prev and the notification bar is accessible even when the device is locked.
I removed the battery percentage, because, IMHO, it is distracting =)
I will not add any toggles to SystemUI, as I haven't found a version where there is a button to open the 2G/3G settings (not just switch data off; where I live, the 3G coverage is flaky, and I have to switch to 2G sometimes in order to stop the phone from jumping from cell to cell and wasting battery). I use my own widget for that.
The Sony apps that I use all work perfectly fine with my changes to framework-res.apk; I believe there should be no problems with any other Sony apps (did not test them myself).
In order to achieve the closest possible resemblance to AOSP, I have removed some stock apps and use some replacements; here is a listing of the apps I have in /system/app:

Well problem, check the ss and some notifications icons are wrong like USB debugging (shows low memory notification). TIP you can add aosp icons on the launcher and batt percentage otherwise its good

I'm not 100% sure. It worked for me; I did have some issues before — tried copying framework-res.apk and the phone would immediately reboot w/o a bootloop and when I checked framework-res.apk it was the original one.
CWM worked perfectly.
BTW, if anyone needs - I can probably provide a CWM zip, which would revert the mod.
I'm kinda of a n00b in modding, sorry. =(

Sorry guys, I can't help you with bootloops; I specifically warned you that I cannot guarantee that the mod will work for you.
Can you make like this one but with small apps enabled?. I really like this mod, but can't cause i'm using small apps and I love them. But I really hate that battery percentage.

I'm looking for a stock arc messaging app or theme if anyone can help? I figure there might be a few SE-style lovers in here. I have a stock SE 2.3 phonebook which is widely available if you look around here, and that's very slick indeed. Makes the stock Android look terrible in comparison...So just need stock 2.3 SE messaging and anything else I can get.

After installing this the downloded se home v2 does not work....
In your zip there is v3 whose corners cut when more then 1 app are placed...i want se home v2...i downloded it and put it in sys/app with permission rw-r-r but not working ....

How to get

Nice but few glitches:
- Missing some notification widget icons like: landscape mode icon, torch icon
- with the addon installed, on phonebook, the call icon next to contact's name is too big

One bug
First of all, thank you for your great work
A very nice LDPI Theme for our screen
But I have one bug
In your sreenshots, Calculator is themed and me not. The icon changed but not the buttons in the application

you must flash the addon to get themed apps, wallpapers, boot animation,ringtones!

EDIT : So I flash the addons, and now I have FC on many apps such as Messaging, PhoneBook etc. The only apps that you modify and work is Calculator and FM Radio
I am on GinTonic.Se v2.1 for mini pro !
EDIT 2 : When I press a button, the color of it doesn't change. And the notifications toggles are not all themed

Hi.Im sk17i user on stock .058 FW,the dock did not change.I push the home apk in to the system/apps and change permission and clear the home page cache in app setings,as I said nothing has change,the app drawer is 3x4 but the dock looks the same.Any ideas?

Backup the old home and then copy the new home in to system change permission first ...
And then delete the old home....and paste the new home...
Don't forget for the name...name must by Home.apk not home.apk

I just done it same way and noting has change,still working at it to get it working i will love to have this dock.What about the app drawer is this home apk in 3x4?

Phone stopped working
Hi guys my phone stopped working. what happened is I coppied home.apk first before the framework-res.apk. when i deleted the original framework i got error message that applications needs to force close and then my screen went blank and when I power on the phone it goes to a loop on the sonyericsson logo. I used root explorer. I probably need to reprogram the phone. should I copy framework first before anything else. what do i need to do to copy framework? should i delete the original then copy the new framework from sdcard and change permission.. please help. thanks!

Next time use a CWM method, its alot easier.
If you dont want to use CWM just overwrite home&framwork no need delete them. (and make a backup of the stock one)
for now i think you need to flash a new rom.

I am just going to do a clean installfor KA19.I have backed up my data in titanium backup.Also the root uninstaller backed up my .apks
Can this tool intall them on sdcard cause u know ray hasnt got alot of storage

Copy the apk files to downloaded folder
then follow the steps to unistall all bloatwares
After that you can install apk files directly to phone
Move all movable apps 2 sd card(use app2sd)
Create a primary partition of sdcard with the help of MiniTool Partition Wizard Home Edition
Then download link2sd
Link all files to sd
that's all

i wouldn't remove DownloadProviderUi.apk, it's uesful if you download something and want to cancel it.

I was daywalking and I didn't see that this will also delete fm radio(0 for me, 1 for agreing without reading what's been deleted). Very cool app but I use radio so if anyone can provide the apk whould be nice.

I tried it with Official 4.0.4 but it gave error "No Such File/Directory" and didn't do anything so I manually removed all the stuff with Link2SD app.

Nope it'll work but you have to enable USB debugging, install drivers for your phone and read the instruction text file (in zip file)properly

Connect your phone to PC
Run my latest 0.5 tool
It will automatically reboot your phone to cwm
Then it will remove bloatwares
Then can you attach a picture of your error(take a screen shot of my tool)

that right, but when I open app es file explorer always reboot and also when deleting system apps from titanium backup, so I use the root browser to replace the es file explorer
