Just backed up all my apps through this : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1420351 as my phone wasn't rooted.
Just installed the new resurrection remix (for Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100) and then tried to restore my backup.
Now I know it worked because it took about 3 hours to backup and also the file on my hard drive is 17GB.
Though when doing the adb restore C:\******.ab then it restores about 5 apps and says "Restoration ended."
Obviously I want everything from the backup, is there anyway I can stop it from stopping?
Thank you!
(I'm not sure if this is in the right place, sorry!)

Alright...
I had the Shishir rom on my phone for many months and it worked very well. Tonight I dropped my phone (has happened many times before with no repercussions) while it was plugged in and the rom would no longer load on start up. The boot sequence would run all the way through and get stuck on the four colored X.
So I booted into CWM and made a backup because I had not previously backed up my contacts recently. I transferred this backup to my pc. I restored backup and now my phone works fine. However all of the contacts and messages are gone.
So I ask, I plead, is there any way to manually extract the contact database from the CWM backup image?

Titanium backup
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus
I tried it. Titanium sees the backup but says there is nothing in it...so was all the data corrupted the moment the phone fell and the backup is worthless or..?
Hi guys, I was wondering is it possible to use Titanium Backup to make a full backup of my S2, and when i say full backup, I mean a Full Image of the Smartphone?
Like we can do with a PC or Mac?
If yes can someone point me to a guide?
If not, is there any app capable of doing it?
Thanks in advance.
No. Titanium cannot do this. A nandroid (CWM) backup is the closest thing to this; backs up everything except your external SD card & modem. It is essentially a 'snapshot' of the phone at the time you took it & if you restore one, it will revert your phone almost exactly to the state it was in when you took the backup (apart from the external SD card & modem if you've changed it as previously mentioned).
No, it is not possible to do a total 'image' of an Android phone as you would a PC, but if you do a Nandroid backup & also Titanium backup your apps regularly (either weekly/every few days or before you make changes to your setup), that will enable you to either recover or revert any changes quickly/easily.
Thanks for your help.
You're welcome
Just one more thing....if your on 4.1.2 make sure you bkup preload or nand wont restore.
Backup of S2.
Hello, i too would like to find a "way" or a "guide" to do a full backup of everything on my phone with a single click. Yes I'm New to it all... and before i rooted with siyah i backed up my phone via (KIES) followed the youtube root video Yep! Rooted my phone happy as larry THEN BANG! Kies wont recognise my device! Backup On My Pc USELESS! and yes i am at my wits end to try recover them text messages but ive started from scratch now on the dark side, now i wouldent mind a FULL BACKUP of everything .. except sd, so i can bring my phone back to samsung land get my contacts etc.. then cross back over to the darkside.
list of installed apps:
titanium , es file explorer , mobile odin , my files (lol) , air droid , spooffw , busybox , triangle away , sms backup & restore , bluetooth file transfer +++ more tried everything lol.
Thanks For Reading!
For 4.1.2 go with philz kernel. Go into recovery and tick preload Bk up and you will have a working nand on stock jelly bean read about it:thumbup: For custom Roms like cm aokp id use dorimanx 9.whatever and use hawkerpauls preload Bk up and restore scripts. Or you could just use hawker scripts for both jb and custom Roms.check to see if what ever your backing uses preload.
hey guys,
I have a really tricky Problem with my Phone. I just updated from cm-10.1-20130728-NIGHTLY-i9300 to cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY and i didn't realized that this one is the first CM with 4.3. I update my Phone nearly once a weak (CM for 3 Months) and I've never had Problems. So I don't make Backups anymore. (I know that isn't really smart )
But now the Problem is the following:
My Play Store can't download or update Apps. It says "Update for {...} could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error while retrieving information from Server.[RPC:S-5:AEC-o])"
My Backup apps (Titanium and Go Backup Pro) can't backup apps anymore. Go Backup Pro just says "an error has occurred" and Titanium backup says "Backup successful" but when I try to restore it, Titanium says "An error has occurred" too. Unfortunately they don't give me more information.
When I started my Phone the first Time with 4.3 there actually was no Root. If I started an app needing Root it just said my Phone is not rooted.
after reinstalling my Backup-Apps through an apk they now have Root rights. I think. I can't check cause they can't backup apps
I tried backup my Apps through ADB but It just freeze.
I still could use my Phone but every 30 seconds it says some App has crashed^^ even if the App doesn't crashed and it works fine.
What I want:
Just to backup my Apps und their data. So I can wipe my Phone and reinstall CM.
Any Ideas?
greetings halliba.
PS: Sorry for my bad English. I'm from Germany
If you dont have a nandroid backup....
Flash 10.1 again over 10.2 - phone should work as before update. Use titanium to backup.

You're gonna have to use ADB then. I know you said it freezes, but really you should be booted into recovery when doing this stuff (adb)
Try that.
Valuable lessons learnt today
Hello people and geeks,
I just got a new phone, Galaxy S4, and I did a Titanium Backup (pro) on my two years old phone, Galaxy S2 (CM 10.2).
So I put the sdcard from S2 to the S4 and I was about to restore the backup when my girlfriend invited me to go to a craft brewery local festival. Then we went there and drank a lot of the best quality beers that I tasted in my life. :silly:
When I came back home, there was my brand new S4 phone waiting me to restore Titanium Backup from ssdcard.
I can't remember very well, because I was pretty much drunk, but I did the restore.
To short the story, I ended up with a inoperable phone, showing error messages every second after boot up. To solve it I did a factory reset and installed Samsung's stock ROM.
Now the phone don't show errors anymore and seems to be working well, as would be expected.
Here it goes where I need your help, mates:
The apps menu on S4 is showing system apps restored from S2. Yes, by mistake I restored system apps from Titanium Backup.
Even after factory reset (from TWRP) and formating the /system and install stock ROM again, there are some apps from my old S2, I can't get rid them and don't know what to do.
What I can do to get the S4 back exactly to factory default?
There is any way from this system apps are being installed from SIM?
What the repartition feature from Odin does? It can be useful to my case?
Thank you in advance!
so here goes the story.
My dad's galaxy s3 had an Omega rom on 4.1.2
I decided to update with CM12 Unofficial from Temsek few days back. I didnt take any backup because there was nothing important there to be saved and I believed all the contacts are backed up to Google server.
So I flashed the latest TWRP and did clean install of CM12 and gapps and everything was fine.
But after logging into google and installing apps again. I reaslised all the contacts are missing! I have checked Google accounts and I cant see any contacts there. I am not sure what happened. Because I am pretty sure when I installed Omega earlier, contacts were backed up with Google.
In the end, I believe I have lost all the contacts ( 20 yrs worth of contacts).
But I found on my PC a nandroid backup of Stock FW from 2012 which I must have backed up using CMW.
My questions are:
- Do I have to flash Clockworkmod recovery again to restore the backup?
- And if I do successfully restore the backup, will the contacts be still there?
- Will there be an issue if I am going back from CM12 to Stock backup from 2012.
Please help guys. I don't want my dad to loose all his contacts!!
Instead of trying to restore the nandroid, which will lead to loss of imei and serial number, just use titanium backup to extract your contacts from the backup file.
thanks for ur reply..
but this will work even if it was not a titanium backup?
Best go read about titanium backup.
