Problem with backuping Apps - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys,
I have a really tricky Problem with my Phone. I just updated from cm-10.1-20130728-NIGHTLY-i9300 to cm-10.2-20130814-NIGHTLY and i didn't realized that this one is the first CM with 4.3. I update my Phone nearly once a weak (CM for 3 Months) and I've never had Problems. So I don't make Backups anymore. (I know that isn't really smart )
But now the Problem is the following:
My Play Store can't download or update Apps. It says "Update for {...} could not be downloaded due to an error. (Error while retrieving information from Server.[RPC:S-5:AEC-o])"
My Backup apps (Titanium and Go Backup Pro) can't backup apps anymore. Go Backup Pro just says "an error has occurred" and Titanium backup says "Backup successful" but when I try to restore it, Titanium says "An error has occurred" too. Unfortunately they don't give me more information.
When I started my Phone the first Time with 4.3 there actually was no Root. If I started an app needing Root it just said my Phone is not rooted.
after reinstalling my Backup-Apps through an apk they now have Root rights. I think. I can't check cause they can't backup apps
I tried backup my Apps through ADB but It just freeze.
I still could use my Phone but every 30 seconds it says some App has crashed^^ even if the App doesn't crashed and it works fine.
What I want:
Just to backup my Apps und their data. So I can wipe my Phone and reinstall CM.
Any Ideas?
greetings halliba.
PS: Sorry for my bad English. I'm from Germany

If you dont have a nandroid backup....
Flash 10.1 again over 10.2 - phone should work as before update. Use titanium to backup.

You're gonna have to use ADB then. I know you said it freezes, but really you should be booted into recovery when doing this stuff (adb)
Try that.
Valuable lessons learnt today

I have ICS Resurrection Remix 2.2 and yes i am rooted, i think i solved it!!, i just located the backup that had the bug (Angry Birds space and angry grand) , downloaded the apps again and restored data and made another backup!,
Thanks for your time
Titanium Backup error solved.
If parsing error occurs, reflash SuperSU and make sure it updates binaries using CWM/TWRP.
Another reason could be in 4.3, TiBu doesn't look up location of the Back Up properly.
There is an easy fix.
Titanium Backup> Menu> Preferences>Select Backup Folder Location>Select Detect>Select Whole Device
Select storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup
Use the Current Folder
Restart TiBu
Worked on my GS 3 .
Let me know how it goes.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 7.1 force closes then reboots

I have had Cyanogenmod 7.1 stable installed on my s2 since December, first time I have had a real issue with it. This morning when I turned the phone on as soon as it gets past cyanogenmod boot logo I get a number of force closes the first is always Calendar storage and then Acore. This is followed by media, superuser, droidstats, email, whatapp, clock, google play, bluetooth share and titanium backup these are in a random order but always the same apps. Once I force close them the phone goes back to the boot logo then the force closes start again,in an endless cycle the phone is pretty much useless. I have access to download mode and clockworkmod but I would just like a way to backup my contacts and sms messages before I do a factory reset, or possibly a fix for the issue?
Any help appreciated =)
Plenty of apps on Google Play that enable you to backup/restore your contacts/SMS/call logs. I'd definitely do a factory reset.
I have apps installed for backup purposes but the FC's messages don't allow me to access them =/
Hmmmm. OK. That's a problem then.
I guess you could try flashing CM7 over the top of your current setup & hope that fixes things but it probably won't. So you could do a Nandroid backup in CWRecovery then do a factory reset or do a completely clean/fresh install, and from there you could use something like AppExtractor to restore your contacts/SMS/call logs from your Nandroid.
I attempted to recover a old backup but a got an error of md5 mismatch in clockworkmod. I have created a backup of the current system but the same error pops up if I attempt to recover, I did this to check if the backup wasn't faulty. Will I still be able to use the appextractor with this error?
If I can ill attempt a clean install of 7.2 that just got released and recover my contacts in the way you suggested =)
Good question. I don't know. Couple of times I used AppExtractor when I was running GB I didn't have any of the problems you're experiencing so I guess you're only going to know when you try it.

[Q] really lost here after hellfire rom

so i screwed up my first ever custom rom install. from the beginning...galaxy s3 running 4.2 rooted and frequent titanium premium backups. decided to install and purchase rom manager premium so i don't have to mess with files and transferring from the computer, as i can never download files for some reason. so while backing up through rom manager my battery died, i think. needless to say the hellfire rom installed but now i cant return to the old stock rom as i messed up the backup process. for one when in the manage and restore backup menu in rom manager the initial backup has a date of jan 13, 1970 for some reason, then when i restore and am in clockworkmod recovery, it stops and says MD5 mismatch! so i have no choice but to reboot. now the hellfire rom seems ok IF i could get the play store to open so i can get some apps. something about google services aren't installed or working, even after loading the gapp download in rom manager. it seems root access is and isn't working if that makes sense. titanium back up wont open either. im just at a lose here as i lost my contacts as well. cant my titanium backups be restored? if i can factory reset while "rooted" i would but don't want to brick then be screwed as my pc doesn't like to download and unzip files. im really stuck huh? my phone now says 4.3 i747ucdmg2, 3.4.62 hellfire
fixed it!
So where I went wrong was when I installed the gapps. I installed the apps for 4.4 instead of 4.3.

[Q] Error while restoring data CVM 5.5.0.4 - Temasek CM 10.2

Hi all !
I need your help because I'm really desperate.
My phone was working fine but I had some error with Handcent application.
I decided to restore a previous nandroid backup (that I had previously successfully restored) but now I've got an "error while restoring data" after a long time working.
Tried to do 3 wipes (data factory, cache, Dalivk), but same issue.
Tried with some other backups, same issue.
I'm really lost....
Is there any way to get me out of this ? :crying:
My phone is now unusable.
When I run the phone after restoring faultly, it asked me my google account, as if it was the first time I was running the phone, and not all applications are installed.
When I try to install missing applications with Google Play, I've got an error, and no way to restore from Titanium Backup, no error but freezes.
Please HELP !
Flash your firmware using Odin or recovery, if the backup is corrupt then it can't be fixed.
Thanks, but this backup was OK last time I've restored it, and I had the same issue with some other recent backups.
It appears that the size was too big, over 2,5GB.
I've restored from a 2,41GB backup and it has worked.
The mistery is why I was able to restore from this backup one time, and now does not work anymore...
