How to switch stock rom regions? - Motorola Droid RAZR

Hello all,
I've got a Razr Maxx that has stock 673.94.328.XT910.AsiaRetail.en.03 rom on it. I'm using it in Hungary (EU).
How can I switch to Retail.EU rom?
Will I have significant benefit after switch? (eg. more stable signal)
Will I get future OTA updates after switch? (yes, I'm optimistic )
Thanks for your time and the answers.

There is no original rom with those languages. Morelocale2 switches most of the apps (even some Moto apps) to Hungarian, but not the system itself.
I'm only looking for the signal improvement. My previous phone was EU Milestone. It had excellent signal quality. The best I ever experienced with any phone. I miss that now with the AsiaRetail RAZR. I mean it's ok, but not as good as the Milestone had.

I want a a german or european firmware with german language. What is the best way to do it? I have already looked in the Atrix Firmwares Superthread but i can't find a german firmware.

I have full German on an exact phone / setup as you. Don't you have German as an option when you go to Language & Keyboard?
You should look into unlocking your phone's bootloader though, a whole new universe opens up..

I have found out that there is a official update to 2.3 and it supports german language. Shame on me.
Is there a good guide for the bootloader? Would be great if you could post a link.
Check the noob guide in n General (stickies, at the top). Viel Spaß!!
Great. Thank you. ;-)

[Q] GT-9100G lack of Spanish language

Hi folks,
A friend of mine bought a S2 GT-9100G, and founds that it lacks of Spanish language in its system. For him, it would be great to have it in Spanish. Is there any way to install the Spanish in it somehow?
what rom does he have?

Regular stock rom with gingerbread.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA
In case this gets to be of anyone's interest, I found out that by updating the system (using regular KIES software) it will download the latest version of the stock ROM.
This will cause the device to download all languages (and if you live in a Spanish speaking country, it will bring the language in that update).
I hope it helps anyone in the future.

GSM RAZR MAXX - no ICS yet - options?

I have a GSM RAZR MAXX I got from eBay (new in box). It's nice and I think I will keep it and sell my GNEX. It's from Puerto Rico (Claro network?) and is stuck on 2.3.6. After using Jelly Bean on my Nexus, I at least want ICS as Gingerbread feels very old.
I'm not familiar with Motorolas and their ROMs. That said, what's my best option for ICS today? Wait for the ever-elusive OTA? Flash an ICS ROM? If flashing is the best option, which ROM would fit this model? I am not sure if it's the Latin America version or what. I don't want to root...just get 4.0.4.
What's the best bet for a solid daily driver?
Thanks.
Edit: I am very familiar with ROMS/Rooting on the Nexus, just not Motorola, if that helps. I know how to flash, etc, but am not sure if the process is exactly the same for Moto as compared to the Nexus. I know I can search for how-to's, and my question is more of "what are my options" - wait on OTA or just flash, and if it's just flash, which ROM is best?
Edit2: I've done the clear google services framework, CHECKIN, etc, to no avail. The OTA just hasn't been released and of course there is 0 information from google on this particular flavor of RAZR MAXX.
There is - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840296
Choose from one of the follow in the thread:
Latam XT910
Retail Brasil Razr 672.180.350
Retail Brasil Razr Maxx 672.180.340
Brasil Claro
Brasil Oi
Brasil Vivo
Canada Rogers
Canada Fido
EDIT: NOT THESE
Europe XT910
Asia - PSHAsia - ME xt910
China XT910
Im from Australia, so I'd choose Asia Firmware, for you you would choose LATAM.
Before this, follow the steps to unlock your bootloader and root, then you have ICS for your GSM MAXX
Thanks for the post. Just to clarify, I believe the phone itself is from Puerto Rico (Claro network) but I'm in the US. I don't speak Spanish nor do I *need* a Latam firmware, unless the phone requires it to work.
Could I use any of those ROMs on a Puerto Rican device? If I were to pick one that I feel would suit me best, it would probably be the latest version from any listed in your post. It certainly doesn't have to be a Latin American ROM unless that's all that will work with the hardware.
Honestly, if I was you, i'd sell it again.
The way Mototroll treats their customers, at least in Europe has wiped them out of the list of Manufacturers of which i'd buy a mobile phone from.
At the end of the month, my Razr will find its way to Ebay, i'm sick of it.
u could use any rom it dosent matter were its from just change the rom use the latam its really nice and fast

Thanks. I posted in that thread. Since you are the OP, would you mind checking what I asked? Thank you.

You can install any firmware from either regions, the only differences between the countries are: Bloatware & pre-installed languages. They doesnt affect your performance in anyway.
So go ahead and choose any and flash the firmware, you then can flash any ROM for that works for that firmware.

Hes right, I read wrong, I edited my first post. I didnt see that the bottom half of the list were only OTA.

All are LATAM, and you have no choices but to choose LATAM (theres no disadvantage anyway), the only disadvantage is you get ICS 4.0.4 while the rest of the world are waiting for their ICS for the razr maxx lol

[Q] Considering RAZR (XT910) , localization questions

Hello,
I am thinking about buying a new RAZR (XT910, European model, unlocked) from Handtec UK and I have a few questions.
I have searched the forum for answers but I have to say that the answers got me even more confused than I was in the first place so I hope to clear things up this time.
I know some questions might seem obvious but coming from HTC I can say that it's quite of a difference
Please keep in mind that I don't want to root or open the phone's bootloader. I plan to go stock this time, if possible.
1. Assuming it will be running the generic European firmware (Gingerbread/ICS), will it supports Hebrew user interface?
2. If not, can I flash the Israeli localized firmware (SPDIRD-40_IL_OPT_1C.91P_CFC_P2B_Signed.xml.zip found here) on top of it?
Considering the fact that the Israeli ROM is based on Android 2.3.6, is there's a newer Israeli or other fully Hebrew UI supported firmware that can be flashed to the phone?
3. What if the phone will be preinstalled with a newer firmware than the one that I want to flash? Can it be downgraded?
Thank you very much and have a great weekend!
1. I'm running Epsilon v3, with European base, and that isn't supports the Hebrew interface.
2. Unfortunatelly don't know, maybe someone else.
3. The Ice Cream Sandwich is cannot be downgraded to Gingerbread.

Thanks, bigdee888! Your help is much appreciated!
You basically answered question 2 as well. I guess that the phone will be running ICS so I won't be able to flash the Israeli Gingerbread firmware on top of it. I can only hope that the phone will be preloaded with Gingerbread.
My pleasure!
But, if the phone comes with ICS, maybe you can flash an EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa) sbf with the RSDLite. It could be contains the Hebrew language, but i'm not sure, because i'm running AsiaRetail & EuropeRetail roms.

Hebrew for Motorola RAZR MAXX XT910
I recently purchased one on line through Amazon US. It is being sold as " MOTOROLA RAZR MAXX XT910 BLACK 16GB SPYDER 3300mAh Battery Factory UNLOCKED GSM OEM CELL PHONE (HSDPA 850/900/1900/2100) by New Generation Products LL "
I live in Israel and was preparing myself mentally towards the gruesome task of installing Hebrew on it.
To my surprise it had Hebrew pre-installed on it as one of the system languages.
Motorola, for some reason, does not advertise this and this specific model does not even appear on their Israeli site.

[Q] Roms with Asian language available

Hello all,
I have an unlocked razr that is running on 2.3.5. (651.73.240.XT910.Rogers.en.CA) and I want to change my system language to Chinese Traditional.
How do I know whether a ROM has Asian languages available?
Do all ICS Roms include Asian languages?
Does this Rogers leaked ICS Rom have Chinese available?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1735746
Any help would be much appreciated!
