So, I ended up fully bricking my Prime and have now thought about sending in to Asus for repairs.
I was wondering if anyone who had the same situation could tell me how much this would cost to be repaired from their experience. I have heard some people getting their Prime's fixed at no additional cost even though they unlocked. Are my chances good for a free repair?
Anyone?

Thanks for all the info. 200 dollars seems a bit pricey for me :/

Dude send it in. It will only cost you 20 bucks to send it. Youll get an answer... youll say yes or no and thats it.
I just sent mine because the screen just stopped working. i can connect it to my tv thru hdmi but the tablet screen stayed black. They received it and fixed it for free and did not even call me. I did not pay for anything. So i advise you to take your chances. This product must of received so much rma's that theyll rather fixes bricks or lightbleeds then to completely lose the customer. RISK it, send it in.

Thanks, I think sending it in may be the better option. It's definitely worth a shot. Thanks for helping me make my decision, much appreciated!
If they won't fix it and you want to get rid of it (I assume the screen still works) PM me.

Thanks for your inquiry and the useful information. Screen burns are covered by our insurance. We should inform you that shortly the device Samsung Galaxy Note may be moved over to the iPhone insurance arena (more costly, higher deductibles) as its replacement is very expensive. Currently it is still available under Smartphones so I recommend you make application ASAP.
Thanks

Not personally. I bought it for my GNote because I have a friend who had it and had a claim and they handled it very quickly and smoothly. Cost was 58 for a year.
I do not think best buy covers lost or stolen.

If anyone is wanting to go Ensquared, you can actually purchase the insurance now since I don't know when the price hike will take place. My order just went through fine. I just listed the phone model as "AT&T Galaxy Note SGH-I717."
There is a final step to activate the insurance where you need to put in the phone's IMEI number, but the order can be finalized and paid for without that step -- the plan just won't be active until you put in the IMEI.

In another thread, someone said that to make a theft/misplacement claim to EnSquared, you need to have a police report. Does that really make sense??
Although I can see them possibly suspecting that someone called AT&T to deactivate their lost phone...and then milking an extra replacement unit.
What if the police later find it?

Should I be mad? Why the fudge is Verizon not sending me a brand spanking new phone if I am still under warranty? I pay a good amount for their service and is there anything I can do about it?

you can call and complain. i dunno how far you will get but worth a shot. btw, i think they give you refurbed ones when the stock is low so maybe if you do complain, you get someone hire up who can arrange it for you. but, to be honest, if there is nothing physically wrong you can see with it, why complain or let alone care?
No, you shouldn't be. They only give CLNRs now.
I have a refurb and it is the best rezound I have had yet.
Plus the MFG warranty states that you will get a new or like new replacement per mfg discretion.

I've heard of people returning some of their "like new" refurbs, I guess the only thing I can do is wait till it gets here and complain later but it really is a shame that loyal customers that have been with them for a long time get shafted like this.

How are you getting shafted?
If the phone is faulty then complain, if it's working perfectly fine then do not. I've bought refurbished electronics for years and love it. It's usually like 25%-50% cheaper than a brand new device and usually works like it's brand new because the manufacturer fixed the problem wrong with it.

It could be worse, it could be like every other mfg warranty where they fix it. No refurb, no chance of a new product. Just weeks of waiting for it to be repaired.

My "certified like-new" ended up being perfect, and totally indestinguishable from my original brand new one...
i had a new one that had a dead pixel & got very hot. was sent a refurb, physically looked like new, but crapped out after a week. the next refurb also looked like new & has so far been the best one i've had. no dead pixels & no overheating issues. have had it now for about 5 months now.
the only thing that's been going wrong is if i leave it on overnight streaming audio, occasionally the audio ends up disabled when i wake up the next day. only way to fix it is by rebooting.
Getting shafted lol? Verizon has the best warranty coverage period. T-moible will only warranty out a phone for software issues, hardware you contact the manufacturer. Sprint I have no idea, At&t no clue, cricket you buy another phone @ full retail pretty much. Where as with Verizon software/hardware they send you a CLNR, free overnight if you have the $6.99/month insurance (worth it). Some of their CLNR's are actually devices set aside by the manufacturer for warranty exchanges. Or people that return their phones within the 14 day period, not that many are actually rebuilt. The longer the phone is out, the higher the chance to get rebuilt phones is. In the end just be happy you're getting a FREE replacement.
hi all, few weeks back my hp tp left speaker died thinking it might be rom related i flashed but to no luck tried searching for spares but cant find any i found a disassembly guide in ifixit but need a new speaker. have anyone experienced the same problem?
if u bought it during the fire sale u have about a week till (8/20) the one year warranty expires.
http://kb.hpwebos.com/wps/portal/kb/na/touchpad/touchpad/wifi/supportservices/page_en.html
go to palm support and CHAT with them. do not call cuz that cost money.
once u get an RMA they will send a box and take care of Shipping.
then go here to wipe and remove android
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426244
once wiped send it in and your speaker will be fixed, it will take about a week.
Should I take a chance and send my TP in? My charging port is loose but it charges still. Do they send you another refurbished TP or the same one repaired? I have until the 24th.

they will not send ua refurb, they will fix yours and give it back to you. sent it in a month ago for a bad charging port, brand new connector when i got it back. same TP tho.
if u got lucky enough to get a refurb then it likely have abetter battery than u have today. but thats super unlikely if they can just fix it. there is NO risk

Don't wait, it isn't going to get better. Report it now and arrange for it to be repaired while the connecter is still sort of working and you can remove Android.
I had the same problem and was only just able to remove Android before it totally died. I have it back now with a new part fitted and its working fine.

What country are you in ,they fixed mine in the UK.
So... hear me out haha. This is all based on what they told me on the phone but they may tell you something else if you call them.
If you have a 32gb HTC One and file a warranty claim (you get one year free of it through AT&T), they will send you a "like new" device for free, then you have to send yours back to them within ten days.
What they told me on the phone though when I talked to them was that if I don't send my phone back, I have to pay them $210 for my "defective" unit. In reality, the only defect my unit has is that the battery doesn't last all day, I only get about 10 hours out of it.
If you don't want to send them the phone you have back, just keep it and take the charge, then sell your phone or the phone they send you on eBay for $500 and you're pocketing almost $300...
I will say again, I only heard them mention the $210 fee and didn't ask at all about that. If you currently have a HTC One on AT&T and you're having some problems maybe with it, try this out and see if it works.
Thought I would let you guys know. Don't hate haha.
In just guessing but that may result in a bad ESN or what ever it's called for not sending it in??? Maybe not idk but seems like they would be smarter than that...

Exactly what sliderocket said, $609 was what I was told as well, the rep even stated that it was the most expensive he had ever seen. 64 GB as well.
Exchanging my 32gb, and it's $545 if I don't send current model back
I was told full price on my Nokia, but my one was bought new off ebay for $450...... So warranty is invalid..
Yea you were definitely given bad info. Fraud aspect aside, they have always charged around full retail for any warranty claim device that isn't returned within 10 days.

That's not fraud if your phone is really broken. If they instruct you to send it back when you receive your replacement or pay $200 then you have the option of sending it back or paying $200. However, it would be fraud if your phone works perfectly fine and you are trying to get a replacement you aren't entitled to just to sell your working phone.

Okay I was going to start a thread about this a few days ago but I didnt get around to it. My screen broke last week from a short fall and I went to verizon because my fiance was upgrading. Anyway, there were 2 people there at the counter who where complaining about this because they had filed a claim on their broken G2 screen and both of them told me they were gonna be on back order till around January or February....yeah im just as frustrated and the only replacements they might send is a Droid Max or MotoX. So the best solution Verizon is doing for this right now is sending in an order for a temp flip phone for our broken device till the devices can be replaced...but youll still be charged $20 a month for being a smartphone plan even though you currently dont have one. This sucks...
Edit: Here use this, download it from your computer and install it to your phone remotely so you can rotate your screen around if your having problems with half your screen like me. It might hold you over for a month or so longer.

C. Replacement equipment may, at our option, be refurbished equipment or different equipment of like kind and quality.
Just remember the squeaky wheel gets the grease. cause a ruckus with both the insurance company and the carriers, their is no reason for the back order and demand a phone with the same specs or better.

I dropped mine on the freeway, i forgot it on top of my car and drove off lol. My screen cracked and it will not register my fingers to unlock also.I sent it into LG for repairs, it was 142 total. Plus my 10 dollar to ship it to LG facilities in texas. I'm getting it back by Saturday, says Fedex. I shipped it to them and they received it on November 22nd.. so about two weeks turn around.
I broke mine and called them. They told me to buy one and I'd get a reimburse check minus the deductible in a few weeks.

So after speaking to Asurion yesterday and being told they have no idea when there will be more G2's in, I got an email from them last night that they have my phone ready to ship. Their web site was screwed up and not letting me continue, so I called and gave them the address and credit card info. The phone is out for delivery today....Damn.
@ Walter21026: Thanks for the tip. Tried installing from Google Play's website, not sure if it installed or not. Still shows lockscreen. Truth is, most of the touchscreen now seems to be useless. Thanks anyways.
@ antawnm26: I dropped the phone and cracked the screen. AFAIK, warranty is if something is defective, not if I am at fault for the screen being shattered.
