correct 4.0 music player force closes on honeycomb. but for future reference, use root explorer or the like to uninstall music 3 apk and to place the new music apk in the /system/app folder. set permissions to r-r-rw. Again It does not work but this is how your would do it if it did.

Have you tried pushing it through ADB?
I glad you deleted it... it is a horrible player and has no use. Just download any video player and all will be well again.
If you purchase content through Google, you have to use Google Play Video anyway.
For everything else, my favorite is MX Player (+ it's codec).

Yeah...agree...mx player can play many more video formats...but if for in game video...mb you do have to place the apk of the video player in /system/app cause certain apps may still require it to run...

Hey guys, suddenly the apollo music player cant see the music anymore and cant even play anymore a mp3 file using apollo, its not in the list anymore.Any solution?I tried wipe cache/dalvik cache, still nothin,im using CM9 STABLE.Any solution?Dont tell me reinstall the rom cuz i don`t want, except that, any solution?:good:
Try a different music player. I recommend PowerAmp, although it has a 15 day trial after which you have to buy it.
Or if you want rudimentary music playing, there are lots on the Play store that can do the job.

Already got the full version anyway, my problem is apollo itself, it doesnt want to work again, damn with it.

it looks like the system media scanner is not working well, a process which Apollo depends on to find your music file.
PowerAmp works because it has it's own scanner.
You can force rescanning of your media files using some app in the market.
Search for media scanner in the market. Most of those apps are free and will sure get the job done.
Good luck

Hello guys, I was hoping you could help me out here. I have a Galaxy Player 4.2 and its music app is better than any other music app I tried. Most importantly, it has folder support which a lot of other music players don't have. I recently bought a new phone and want to use the music app from the galaxy player 4.2 with it. It's not on Google Play and I wasn't able to find an .apk of it. So I was wondering if there is a way to dump the music app from my Galaxy Player to an .apk and install it on my new phone. Or if someone happens to have an .apk ready to install I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.
I guess that could work but I would use my computer to go into my system folders and look up the apk in the system files and copy it to my desktop. Then I would plug in my other phone and replace the music stock app on that with the galaxy players stock music. I'm not sure if that would work but you can give it a try. Also remember to take the music apk from your other phone and put it in a safe place you know so you don't lose your other phones stock music app.

Try getting a app to extract APKS.
I can no longer find the Samsung Video Player yet when I go to the Galaxy App store it shows the app as installed. What must I do to find or reinstall the app?

Wrong forum for your question but........
If you see Video Player as installed in the Galaxy App store then it probably is even though you don't see the app in your app drawer. If you have a video on your phone, open the file & Video Player will play it.
If you want the app in your app drawer it's actually a seperate app. 3 ways of downloading. While playing a file click on the 3 dots & click on download video app, or go to about for Video Player, or go to the Google Play store & download Samsung Video Library.
I don't even bother with it, one less app installed in my phone. I just use the Gallery app to catalogue my videos.

Apologies for posting in the wrong thread. Yet I don't want to post it again and start from scratch. I tried your advice and I think that's where the problem is...
This is so weird. Is it possible to move this entire thread to the correct location?
That's strange, looks like you do have Video Library installed, I'm not sure then. Maybe it got hidden by accident? Go to app drawer, click on 3 dots then settings then hide apps & see if the apps are hidden? Or maybe try to uninstall Samsung Video Library then reinstall?
