Try GOsms on the play store, you can set vibrate patterns for certain contacts, intensity and length of time

that's what many people said, thank you. however i want to make default pattern 2 short or medium vibrations. indeed it should affect all apps such as whatsapp, sms etc...
One more important question!
All samsung based roms have this kind of vibration patterns(i mean 1 long vibration for every app)? or is it just specific for this rom like a bug?

I don't know if there are mods specifically for this in S2.. all i know is that it has that feature in GOsms
but if you are an advanced user (or have experience in codes and etc)
you may edit some codes if you like
Cheers!

Managing notifications?

I have a stock Vibrant running 2.1. I like to have audible notifications for text messages, etc., but not for new emails. I get a lot of email at all hours and I prefer not to hear my notification tone multiple times a night in the wee hours whenever a new junk message comes in. So, is there a fix for this on a stock phone? I've looked through the Settings: if there's something there to manage the various types of notifications separately, I've missed it. Any suggestions other than turning notification sound off completely?
I thought this was a pretty basic question when I posted it. Out of all the smart folks who hang out here, nobody knows the answer?
go through the settings on your email app and turn off notifications or select your ringtone as "silent" for the app
or u can use "no led " app and use its features to silent wht u want..

brilliant app just for vibrant

Thanks a lot (and my light sleeper of a wife thanks you). The fix seems obvious when you mention it, but I'm not sure it would ever have dawned on me. That took care of my issue.

Thanks to you, as well. NoLED looks like a clever app, and I'll give it a try for certain notifications.

[Q] Change Vibration

Since the last update from KD7, when i get a mail or a whatsapp message, the vibrate pattern is a long one, too long for me, is there a way to change it in the options? Can't find it!
Noone knows? It's really annoying.

I need a solution to this as well. I found an app called Smart Vibrate, but it only seems to edit SMS vibrate, not Whatsapp. Please find solution! ><

The vibration duration of Whatsapp is too long.

Whatsapp vibration is too long, and too loud! Help!
I would love to be able to change it as well. I love having the vibration alert, I would just love to have a short burst or 2 like all my other app's. Not sure why this one goes for so long and intense. Really annoying if you see this from one of you what's app friends.
Lol
Haha
Omg
that's funny
Lol

[Q] Notification vibration duration really long

Hi all,
If there's a thread about this already I apologize - I searched for it multiple times but couldnt find anything
Anyways,
I just got my S2 today and i find that the notification (text messages, Whatsapp) vibration duration is a little too long.
I downloaded Handcent and it actaully has the option of setting your vibration duration to a custom value.
Just curious if this is possible "globally" for all notifications and not just for Handcent
I havent rooted yet but this would be reason to if it's just simple file mod somewhere
Anyone with clues/suggestions is appreciated!
THanks!
I have the same question. The Notification vibration is too long.
Any news?
Me too. Have to take vibration off on what's app because it irritates everyone around me including me. Bzzzzzzzzz! Its too damn long!

Things I want to be changed on my Neo-V

Hello. I'm opening this thread so everyone can tell little things that don't like, or want to be changed on our Neo-v, so developers can "make our wishes" true...
Thread will be daily updated...
CALLING
1.speed dialing - I wondering how its possible that modern phone doesn't have it??? There R 2 ways - first looong press on number or click on one number and then "dial"... These have a praistorical phones...
2.End call lock screen-(incoming) I notice that when I end my talking, screen locked it self...Even if dont answer or refuse call so I must unlock and then see missed call...
3.Call log-shows one same call-er in loooong list...is it better to show just last with options to show call history for that number
Uploaded with ImageShack.us
CAMERA
Need a lot of work on drivers...its just not that picture quality it has to be...
1.white balance -too much white on factory settings that make noise in artificially conditions (in house at night)
2.NO BEST PIC Great and very usefull shot-mode for driving of SE, so why they missed it in xperia models
3.Violet noise Sometimes i see this "ghost" when autofocus on lower light when there is a lite source at side of phone during picturing
MESSAGES
1.Message details - dont understand why we can't see detailes like sent time and recieved time...That what old SE phones has...So when I recieve sms, I cannot see when is send to me, just time when I recieved it...is it so hard to pu it...
VOICE RECIRDER
Am I stupid or I can't find this or is it POSSIBLE that modern phone doesn't have it????
MULTITASKING -
Phone dont have minimaze options, some app's stay but some not in ram after press midle botton...So I use Advanced task killer to get back to my working app's...
Regarding multitasking: have you tried long pressing the HOME (middle) button?
You will see the 8 last started application, and you can easily switch to them. Note that they might have been removed from the memory, but some apps can still restart into the same state.
Totally agree with u on speed dialing and call log.
Use handcent sms...its great replacement for the stock messaging app
About sound recorder, i can see that in manage applications under 'all' but yes its missing in app drawer..i dont know how to launch app from there.
I think notification led is at silly place..

LOL What XDA-developers can do to make the screen bigger? haha
Just buy Xperia ARC
Hmmm...For me it has to be the speed dial and call logs.

Messaging Notifications

Does anyone know how to stop the display from turning on when you get a text with the stock messaging app? I can't for the life of me figure it out, haha.
Also, the vibration is way too long, when I have it on my desk at work it's obnoxious. I tried creating a custom vibration pattern, but it doesn't seem to apply to the messaging app.

You dont happen to be running Jedi Rom do you? I had that problem when I was on Jedi, couldn't custom vibrate and the notification was a compound multiple vibrate for my texts, people laughed at my phone--switched to beans rom, problem gone.
