[Q] Sudden drop in Battery - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I slept last night with 40 % battery and woke up to see 0 %. I was shocked. Please help. Is there something wrong with battery or some app is the reason of the problem ? Any help appreciated.

Did you charge your phone?
Let it charge up to 100%, as charging to full battery will "reset" it (somehow), i find it hard to explain
Anyway, it is not a serious matter

Seems like your phone is completely dropping service which could be a service provider issue imo

But how would that be affecting the battery so much..??

I had this as well in the past. Happend multible times. Phone was @ like 56-60%, and after a reboot it was down to 20%. No logical reason why it was that way.
I dont think the battery is damaged, tho. Maybe an error in calculations?

Do these battery stats look normal?

Hi, I'm running stock unbranded rom not rooted.
Recently my battery has stopped lasting over 24h, used to get near 48h with similar usage.
I took a screen shot of my battery stats, do they look normal?

Yes your data connection is on
Cell Standby Fix i would try .

What's those 'dips' in your graph? It seems to have OK drain but at some points it's sucking the juice out of the battery.
If you're rooted, please create a BetterBatteryStats log over several hours then attach it. (BBS has a free APK here on Xda)

That's purely cosmetic, and doesn't change the time the phone lasts.

What's the screen time?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
I think the dips are when I've returned to my phone after a period of inactivity. I don't call much or text at all, I just browse the Internet and use Tapatalk.
I will root my phone and try the battery app this weekend (when I have more time) if the drain continues.
Thanks all for your comments

Hard to tell. Every once in a great while things just go haywire. Same thing happens to your home computer if you don't restart it ever so often. Glad it fixed it for you.

It happened to me to. A simple reboot fixed it. I have absolutely no idea what has caused this or how to reproduce it.

Yes it will, if it's micro-usb it will charge. It won't destroy your phone, but it may not charge as fast. Don't worry about it.

Well, it will charge your phone if it's started.
But if device is off and you put 2000mAh (too much for it), battery indicator will show "?" and no charge.
So please don't say unless you try!

Android os says its 100% of battery usage.

Ok so basically if I click battery in settings only android os shows up and it says cpu total 248d 13 h 47m 17s. It never changes i think this started when I cleared my cache and dalvik... Its rather annoying.

Power and Home buttons.
Hold them simultaneously until you hear photo snap.
Upload the photo.
I prefer hand swiping but this works too lol.

I had that happen to me. I booted into recovery and cleared cache and dalvik and that worked for me. If not just dirty flash right over and that should fix it

I charged my phone to 100%, unplugged, and refreshed the battery monitor to fix the issue.
