Hello,
Please tell me if there is any way of replacing standard theme files by launcher ones? I guess when launcher is running in the background it drains battery. That is why i'd like to install it by replacing standard files. Is there any way to do so?
Thanks
By "standard theme" you mean stock launcher?
If yes then my answer would be no, no you cant get rid of it totally, sadly. But let me tell you a thing, it wouldnt do any harm to your battery life..
Android will only run one launcher at a time.

Thanks for reply
So my question is, isn't it possible to make a Sense 4.0 Launcher like the Go Launcher EX or some others. In my opinion it has to be possible. What do you think ?
No, it's not possible. The HTC Launcher is tied into the phone itself. Phone, Messaging, Browser. It's the whole nine. The only way to get it is through a port.
you may be able to replicate what the home screen does but as far as the whole experience of the "launcher" it would more or less be impossible without a port.
A few roms have the sense 4.0 clock and Rosie (straight not curved) but not drag and drop like ICS supports. Try Infected Rom see if it suits you.
Nah, I don't want to root my phone yet, don't know I don't want a brick or something else maybe I wait for the official ICS and then I'll do a root ?
You can try an ICS rom with 4.0 Sense in android development
or, if you can, you can preparate it from that rom ;-)
But I don't want to root my phone because of the guarantee. If I do anything wrong and my phones bricked I wouldn't know how to fix it :/
really you could only get the home screens and maybe the lock screen look like ics. they'd be missing some features obviously. go launcher ex has ics themes and so does go locker. i assume adw launcher has some themes as well. and launcher pro. many launchers are themeable and dont require rooting. that's as close as you're going to get if you dont wanna flash a rom.
chances or bricking your phone are 1 in a billion if you spend time reading and learning.
As for your warranty, a smashed phone costs the same as a bricked phone to replace, 100 bucks. If you brick it and cannot fix it using the dozens of tools available here then accidentally running it over can take care of that.
So my Hboot is 1.49.0018 how do I root it ?
I am not sure if the root method for 1.49.0011 will work for me.
Hello
I'm a big fan of Samsungs Hardware but never liked touchwiz. The hings that annoy me most are the launcher and the Email(Exchange) App.
Is there a way to use the Vanilla ICS pendants without switching completely to cyanogen (when it once will be available)? I would like too keep the few nice add ons by Samsung.
Thx for hints
You could try an alternative ICS launcher such as Nova https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.launcher&hl=en. Hope that helps some.
An alternative launcher will definitely get you away from much of the touchwiz experience but you will still be stuck with Samsung's email, calendar, etc apps. Take a look in the SGS3 Themes and Apps section. I believe someone there has created a flashable zip to replace the Samsung stock apps with the ICS ones.
Thanks both of you. Nova does the trick for now.
I also flashed the ICS Email but it did not want to work. Guess I'll wait for CM then.
cheers
Is there any way to turn on the Android Interface and turn off TouchWiz?
I'd like to give it a try but I don't want to mod my phone. I think all Android phones should be able to do this with little hassle. It means no matter what phone you get you can always use a standard UI
TouchWiz is quite good, but I'll never get back from CM
Search for ics launcher in the play store. https://play.google.com/store/search?q=ics+launcher&c=apps
That if you want to change the homesreen.
Is there any way to turn on the Android Interface and turn off TouchWiz?

Thant's a real pitty
If you want pure android framework, only way is flash some aosp/cyanogenmod rom.
I think what he's asking about is the launcher.
Download Apex/Nova/Holo launchers from play store, pick the one you like best.

Flash a custom rom (for example, cyanogenmod) or download a launcher from play store (holo, nova, apex, ics launcher...) or buy a nexus device and always have latest android os and stock launcher
From Themes and apps section dowload this file. It themes your TW to JB.

Hi there,
i've had to setup the nexus 10 for my mother and i'm stuck at the point where i want to get rid of two homescreens.
By default lollipop comes with 5 homescreens.
Perfect for that setup would be a set of 3 homescreens. But i can't figure how to remove any of those...?
I know how it was made in kitkat and older android versions... but it seems that this function isn't working anymore ?
Anyone can help ?
