First off, I am a noob. So forgive me for being an idiot
I got this rezound that gets stuck in the bootloop. Looks like whoever had it before me tried to relock the bootloader and failed. Well I tried relocking it. That didn't do a thing. Recovery doesn't load at all, gets stuck at the htc logo as well. I tried antp121's unbrick method and it didn't detect the device. I just really have no idea what I am doing anyways, so any help would be much appreciated

Have you tried flashing a new custom recovery? Possibly try downloading Amon RA and flashing via fastboot. with a working recovery you may be able to flash a working ROM/Kernel combo
I'd say ruu it, looks like your on official ota, maybe you want to upgrade to the global ota?
Search for the global ruu. That will set you back to stock. But first, search for hasoon2000's all in one tool for the rezound to help you along with relocking bootloader and flashing a new recovery once the RUU has completed.
Sorry of this is too much for a beginner, it's really not complicated stuff and there are plenty of helpful people on here I'm sure someone would be willing to walk you through it
Good luck!

Squirrel is correct.. if your using windows 7-8. you just have to name it to PH98IMG it doesn't need the .zip cuz its in a zip folder (kind of a space saving thing windows came up with) you'll see the .zip when it start loading on your phone..

I named it properly. It went through the update process and everything. And I reflashed it multiple times with no success. It is s-on with relocked bootloader. After I flashed it it says push power to reboot. It reboots and gets stuck at the HTC logo like before. I've let it on for like 10 minutes with no progress just to be safe. Should I unlock the bootloader and try to flash a recovery, then a rom? Or should that not matter?

In that case, make sure the ruu you downloaded has the same MD5 hash as they other people's downloads (sometimes posted in op of thread).
Also try wiping everything from within hboot before running ruu

The MD5 hash is the same as many of the other downloads. I also can't wipe, it gets stuck at the boot logo. I'm gonna try another download just to be safe, I'll let update when that happens.

The reason why it tells you failed is because the bootloader is locked. I'm curious if your trying the exe method or the method that can be done on the phone by itself

I really wish I had the time to walk you through it sorry, I'm sure it's something simple. Make sure that if your doing this PH98IMG.zip to let it run. Literally put your phone down and do something else for like an hour or so after the first pass completes.

Keep it on. Just let it sit there and go watch a few episodes of your favorite TV show on Netflix.

so i bought a used phone off of someone to try and fix and it is just pissing me off to no end. The phone just keeps rebooting into a bootloop of the htc splash screen, then it does a little vibrate and goes back to it again. i tried to put the PG05IMG.zip on my sd card and restart it into the bootloader screen which i can get into, but it doesnt work. it says image not found. i also cannot figure out why my computer wont recognize it...if anyone has any solutions of wants to try and help me out, that would be great..
Wrong section bro. But make sure the file is named right and on the root of the SD card.

The only thing I could suggest is try using the allinone thunderbolt tool from the dev section. If that won't work I have no solution because its a difficult fix (if even possible) without being able to enable USB debugging.

How to install without S-OFF:
1) Make sure you are on a currently rooted rom w/ htc dev unlock
2) Run the S-OFF Utility
3) Reflash recovery & fix sd card
4) Install ROM as instructed
lol, pull the boot image from the rom.zip & flash it in fastboot
What con said will work... if you want to know what you are actually doing with some more in-depth instructions then check out this post over at androidforums.com:

I know it is a simple task, except when you are a newbie and get errors you don't know how to fix because you have no idea what they means. I have tried so many times to s-off and always get errors (I don't even remember what they were). So I am still s-on, not because I choose to, but because it does not work for me. I am not very tecchie , I just know how to follow the instructions to root. So I unlocked, my bootloader, and am flashing different roms. But when the instructions are very generic, with the assumption that everyone knows the technical terms and process, some people like me stay behind and remain s-on, even though they would like to get s-off.
The instructions for s-off are as simple as I've ever seen something like this made. Totally step-by-step. You only have to run controlbear and follow the instructions. The only tough part is the wire trick, and they have a video showing exactly how to do it.
My biggest problem in doing it was the wire trick. I tried wire from cat5 and failed repeatedly. I ended up using a piece of coax and got it to work almost immediately.
I flashed CM9 and AOKP the same exact way as I would any other rom with S-ON. Wipe, flash, fast boot boot.img (I just use the resound all in one tool to flash the kernel because it has the built in commands)

Lol. I said to preform a wipe, install the Rom, fastboot the boot.img, and restart the phone.
Not sure why you did anything with a token and you don't need to keep flashing recovery. No clue what the other thing is that you're flashing. And you're going to want a much later version of TWRP. Preferably 2.3.3.0+.
So I'll run through this again even though there are guides to all of this.
1. Wipe Cache, Cache/Delvik, Data, and System.
2. Install your ROM.
3. fastboot flash boot boot.img (that's a ROM kernel).
4. Restart your phone.

You need to elaborate on nothing "responding." If touchscreen doesn't work then you need to downgrade using babyracun and S-OFF.

Like delakit said, you must have the 3.16 firmware with the new touch panel. Meaning, you can only use 3.16 based sense ROMs. If you get S-off, you can downgrade your firmware and use any ROM you like.

I was running the Fresh rom for nearly a year and was totally happy with it. I now have a new evo because of a screen failure. I rooted and S-offed it with dirtyracun and flashed rage. I still pretty much hate everything about JB and want my Fresh back. I have flashed the 2.13.651.1 firmware and tried to install the rom and get a false boot after step 2 of 6. I then have to boot into bootloader and reinstall the above rom again. Is there anything I can do to go back?

No problem. Have you verified MD5 on the download to make sure the download wasn't bad? Also, have you tried flashing a different ICS ROM? I can't think of any reason why you would be having these issues, other than not wiping correctly in recovery (system wipe, flash ROM & reboot).

Sadly I am on hold with sprint customer service over an unrelated matter so It'll have to be in a few minutes. LOL
How do I verify the MD5? Do I need to flash the RUU again? I'm not a newbie, but I forget it all after I do it. LOL
(woohoo one more post until the time limit and captcha goes away)
Sorry, blatant post count increaser. I need to edit some bad typing. LOL
It looks like Flipz site is down so I am not able to download the rom again. Bummer
In es file explorer hit properties and then show checksum and make sure it matches the one in the OP

Sorry I guess I'm slow. How would I know what to match? It shows the file name.
What version of twrp are you on? I want to say people had problems flashing older roms on newer versions, but I can't personally confirm that...worth a shot though.

That's the only thing I haven't tried. I am on the new version I believe. Any idea where I could find the version for 2.13.651.1
Never mind I still had the old root folder. Trying now.

Here's the version I've been using since I got the phone (2.2.2.0), has worked great for ICS and JB alike. Just rename this file to PJ75IMG.zip and put on the root of your external sd card, then reboot into the bootloader and it will install automatically. Remember to remove it afterwards or it will try to install again next time you enter the bootloader.

Thank you very much, I'll try that next if the version I used on my last phone doesn't work.
Hi I am needing some help with my phone. i soft bricked it a while back and it has been stuck in a bootloop ever since.
Important things to know.
it is ***locked***
monarudo pvt ship s-on
hboot-1.33.0001
radio-1.01.04.0308
OpenDSP-v6.120.274.0114
eMMC-boot
okay so i have tried using the RUU on my phone but it is giving me the error 158 because it says i don't have to correct ruu for my phone. secondly i get the FAILED (remote: 12 signature verify fail) error when i try to flash anything in in fastboot. so everywhere i have seen someone post about this they are told to try to go to s-off using moonshine but the problem is that my phone will only connect to fastboot and not to bootloader so i can't use ADB which you have to use to work with moonshine. if i could please get some help on this it would be greatly appreciated.
First thing first I'm guessing u have no ROM on your phone. Sense u in a bootloop?

no it was never rooted nor did it have a custom rom
if i go to recovery it bootloops, if i go to factory reset it bootloops, it is honestly acting like there is no rom and no recovery there at all. the only thing it will connect with my computer with is the fastboot and even then it won't let me flash anything in and it won't accept the RUU. i am just incredibly confused.

Are u sure it's never been rooted with a custome recovery or did this happen while trying to root/soff? Because what ur saying doesn't add up. I had a similar problem awhile back while trying to flash a Rom. It kept failing over and over. On my last attempt the recovery crashed and somehow became corrupt. So I was stuck with hboot and had nowhere to go. I ended up fastbooting a new recovery & downgrading hboot to the one compatible with the only RUU available.
You need to downgrade the hboot and then RUU. Then you can moonshine.

That's what I'm saying. Did u buy it on a site or from someone because pretty sure there is no possible way it could just have no ROM.

yes i am pretty sure it failed during trying to flash moonshine. i have tried to flash things in as i stated above but nothing will go in because it is saying its not the correct signature.

The link ThayIO provided is basically what I did.
If you are unlocked the command is: fastboot flash recovery (drag & drop the recovery image into the command window) and press enter.

Sounds like you guys are screwed. Had the same issue and claimed warranty on the device. Until a new RUU leaks i think you are stuck having to go the JTAG route. I dont think theirs any other fix unfortunately
Flash stock hboot, then ruu

like i said i am unsure on the exact details. it just doesn't make sense that i can't use my bootloader and then my fastboot commands are pretty much useless.. if i only had a way to flash in a recovery or the stock hboot it would work
Your only option is to achieve s-off. You can't do anything in fastboot without it. Until then your SOL
