How do I get clockwork recovery on this phone. I can't seem to find a straight answer to this question. So, any help would be greatly appreciated. The phone I have is not the U.S. Cellular. My carrier is Alltel.

Found that you can through ROM Manager. However, it doesn't show my phone's model number. It shows the Epic 4G Touch, which is supposedly similar. Any idea if that will work?

Its great to have super user but if I cant get into recovery what's the point! Does anybody have any thoughts on this yet? Can't seem to find an answer anywhere! There has to be other generic CDMA rooters out there! Come on guys!
You're not getting any helpful answers because this is not the RCH-R760 forum. This is the I9100 forum which is different hardware to your device.

i also have Alltel SCH-R760 Samsung Galaxy S II CDMA .. i want to root, but not sure, because i have read your post and , i also have not seen any help forums about my phone model .. Did you find out a solution to the issues your are having with recovery ?? please respond

Not to dig up an old thread, but I'm still having this same exact issue. I have a US Cellular Galaxy S2 - sch-r760 device that is fully rooted. However I cannot for the life of me figure out how to successfully installed ClockworkMod! I have Rom Manager on the device and I have flashed cmw that way ('galaxys2' option.) But when I try to boot into recovery there is no option to take a backup and even trying to load a custom rom via the GUI on the device, it appears it attempts to boot up and install - but then it immediately restarts and loads the Stock Rom.
I have an update.zip in the root directory. Also I've been having intermittent problems with the Google Play Store/Services... I have to constantly wipe the data from those apps and remove my account and sometimes even factory reset my device in order to get a wifi connection. I'm not sure if this is related to the issues I'm having, but I thought it was worth mentioning. I've changed and even deleted the hosts file as some people have suggested, which works temporarily, but after awhile the date on my phone gets out of wack and the Play Store and even internet connections seem to go in and out.

Long answer: Even if it has a similar name than the S3, it's hardware and software is as different as it can get.
In other words; neither tricks nor software from this section will work.
You could ask in the general forum but you probably will have to do all the handiwork such as building root for your device all on your own.
Sorry, but how could you expect this even to work out if you knew that it was a fake?

I will help once you edit, stop been lazy and put proper topic title instead of generic non-descriptive crap.

Settings>more>mobile networks>apns check if your network is there, if not Google alltel android APN, then in apns tap menu>new, add in the details tap menu save and select that one
Get the apn from alltel or google "alltel apn". You're not the first to encounter this issue.

You have to press the "menu" button on the phone itself and "add apn" will appear.

Don't take this wrong but what you did wrong was buy a knock off clone device. There is almost no help here for them. You will need to go to Chinese forums for them.

I would check out gizbeat and look for the phone. Or you have to constantly google around the type of phone and rom.

mate first of all use vroot to root it does it in about 1min then use cwm recovery 10 and you can then use any rom as long as you get it for the mtk ver of phone not the i8190 ok ive got 3 chenese models and ive rooted all them htc with wildchild s4 with pascman and s3 with carbon so you can infact get lots help off ppl who know about the phone model

The problem im having is ive read plenty of threads online and the info seems to be conflicting, apparently if i mess around with it, it will loose its nfc ability and brings up various other problems?? (-_-)
Its on o2 has the last firmware o2 pushed out (jellybean 4.1.2)

Yep, it will work identical to an i9100 with regards to root/flashing etc... without NFC. But then have a look on xda for 'i9100P NFC patch', and it'll turn up a flashable patch to get your NFC working again good luck!

Hi there again! Reporting back to say all went well.... Apart from the nfc! =( No option exists in the settings menu! So i did search on this and found somebody called jthatch12 who created some type of an nfc enabler for kitkat, But the file isn't available for download now (dead link) but even if the file was available and all, would it work with my version of cyanogenmod?? Good day! I am new here as a member but has been reading your tutorials about rooting phones before. In fact, I already rooted my Samsung Galaxy Note II and also my cousin's since the tutorials for those models are commonly available here. The problem is, I got this phone Samsung Galaxy Grand SHV E270K from my aunt in Korea. I searched everywhere already but hasn't found any useful info about this phone because maybe this is not so common. I found this one result on google search but I cannot post the link since I'm new user ) but the problem is , I couldn't understand what they are saying but only the title that says Stock Firmware Rooted, I tried using google translate but didn't help. I don't wanna flash that rom without being sure if it works since I don't have any backup stock in here. When you search "[Stock Firmware Rooted] Samsung Galaxy Grand SHV-E270K (Jelly Bean 4.1.2)" on google, it will show that as first result (as of now). I really need to root my phone since the samsung site says it's LTE capabled but it has no LTE options on settings. I read on some that it's because my LTE sim is not widely known (Globe Telecom) and is not recognized by phone as an LTE sim. Since my android version is 4.1.2 . the 4g switchers thingies on google play don't work at all. Thank you sooo much once again!! Waiting for sooner response from anyone.

Hi! Good day and thanks for replying to my post. I guess they still don't have those required files for this device until now since this device is not quite common unlike the S series. I'm still hoping they will have those in the future. I'm actually thinking to flash the rom of other similar models xD but I don't think it will work.
