[Q] Desperate Need of Help - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

So yes, I'm new here, and I really need some help.
To clarify any doubts, I have a Samsung Galaxy S2 from AT&T that had the most recent official firmware from AT&T.
Here is the short version:
I tried to install the ClockworkMod Recovery through the Heimdall Suite per the instructions on CyanogenMod's wiki, but now my phone just boots to a screen saying "Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100" with a yellow error triangle at the bottom of the screen. How can I restore my phone or make this work so I can use CyanogenMod on my phone??
Here is the long version:
Ever since my upgrade to ICS my phone has been slow and buggy, so I thought I'd try out the CyanogenMod by following their guide (yes, I was on the correct page for the AT&T version).
This, however, proved to be disastrous for me.
I got to the part of their guide where I was putting the ClockworkMod Recovery onto the device with Heimdall on Windows (I'm running Windows 8 if that matters).
The first time I ran the command in the command line it failed, so I ran it again and it claimed it was successful. The blue bar completed on my phone and then it rebooted. So far so good. However, upon rebooting, it just hangs on the splash screen.
What I see is a black screen with the Samsung Galaxy SII logo with GT-I9100 beneath it and then a yellow triangle at the bottom of the screen with a '!' in it. Obviously, something is wrong, and I'm guessing it had to do with what the guide had me flash on there through Heimdall, since it say GT-I9100, but my phone is the SGH-I777...
I have searched for over 6 hours this morning through many forums and have not found an answer of how to fix this.
Ideally, I would love to either get CM9 (CyanogenMod 9) on here and working, or even just revert back to the stock Gingerbread firmware, since that worked much more smoothly than the AT&T ICS upgrade.
If anyone knows how I can restore my phone, please help!! The more detailed the instructions, the better.
Thank you in advance!!

Turn off your phone.
Hold volume up,down and power buttons. Keep holding the volume buttons, release the power button as soon as the screen with the yellow triangle appears.
I highly doubt you searched enough as this is such a common thing.

Respectfully, I did search, but I must not have been searching for the proper topic. I described it the best I could over and over, but only found lengthy solutions that were bogus.
That said, thank you for your help. I was able to access the menu that way and get everything installed.

Fair enough. Just make sure you search this forum thoroughly before you start a thread, or you will very likely get flamed by others. Good luck.

[Q] Might Have Screwed Up Very, Very Badly. Samsung Galaxy S2 in Sprint in the US.

So in my haste to ROM my new phone, I unfortunately did not follow the literature as closely as I should have and now have a Galaxy S2 with the Ninphetamine kernel and no radio (I think).
My phone's status menu reads "No Service" and I don't know how to restore to its original glory. I've tried doing a factory reset, and when I installed Ninphetamine, it was with the intention of over-writing the CF kernel I loaded, which apparently wasn't designed for my phone (XX not UG).
Sorry if this is unclear, I'm in a bit of a rush and want to post this before I have to go take care of something. Please, any help is appreciated.
Also: neither the Home button nore the Menu buttons are responsive, however the Search button has taken on the Menu buttons functionality. The back button is otherwise okay. This also makes it impossible to use ClockWorkMod.
Roms for the I9100 will not work for the sprint variant. You will need to re-flash a rom designed for your phone. You can find what you need here http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1284

You will need to get the original Sprint firmware to recovery from your mistake, you should be able to flash with Odin once you have your firmware assuming you can still get to download mode.. All the ROM's & kernels in this forum are for the International version of the SGSII ( I9100) Since yours is a Sprint version it is not compatible with any of these kernels or ROM's.
Thanks a lot, both of you. I'm working on getting my phone back to its fully glory again, however I accidentally got myself stuck on the Clockwork mod screen. I can't use my home key to select anything so I can't pick any of the menu options (i.e. "power off") and when I take out/replace the battery it just returns to Clockwork. Any idea how to alleviate this?

In many clockworks, the power button acts as a 'select' key.
... But going into download mode doesn't require even that. (battery out plugged into PC, vol-down on my phone)
Mileage may vary... Diff phones and all.

The power button just filters the text over the Clockwork backdrop on Sprint's GSGII, it seems. In any event, I managed to boot into download mode by taking out the battery and plugging my phone into my computer and holding vol. down/power. Thanks a bunch! I really can't mention enough how much this community means to me, first by helping me break my phone, then teaching me how to fix it. I really do <3xda.

Samsung Galaxy S2 + boot error

I am at wits end. Got it rooted and everything, but used the wrong kernal. I had good sucess with my Captivate, so I tried a similar procedure. Unfortunetly, when I boot the phone I end up with "Can't acess to '/system/csc/ATT/system/'. I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post but at the risk of looking like an idiot, I'll beg
Edit: I do have access to download mode, and Odin.
Im sorry i cant help you, im not good enough, but i guess we (who's able to help) need more informations.
Model of your S2? i9100 or 9100g?
What kind of wrong kernel you flashed?
Is your phone a standard or a AT&T S2?
I think this infos can be very helpfull
It's the i777, the kernal was the XWKDD, and it's an AT&T. It worked fine, rooted, got Busybox and everything to work. But I noticed the back button didn't work, and the home button backed me up. To I attempted to install a ROM, and then it won't start. I got one installed, but it sits at the clockwork recovery screen. The power button won't function as OK, so I can't qipe the data.
Designgears has started a ATT sgs2 ROM. you can use that. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1286939
I discovered the 3-file way to do it in another thread, but this unfortunately leaves me back and my search button not functioning.
Edit: Fairly certain I turned it into the european version of the phone, since the 2 buttons don't work and the default clock is 24 hour.
As an update, I can get most things to work except I can't get the button configuration correct...which isn't an issue until I try to use CWM or something of that sort...any help to get the button config back to standard I777 would be GREATLY appreciated

Stuck at "Touch Android to Begin"

Alright Folks,
I have exhausted my search skills and probably messed up somewhere...Could use some guidance.
Background: I was updating a Slimrom and something went wrong on my end and I got stuck at Samsung boot screen. (Coulldn't get into recovery at all) I got to this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1457458 and followed the guide using ODIN and everything. Phone boots up but the back and search keys weren't working. Was able to make and receive calls but both parties couldn't hear each other. At this point I thought I should try rooting and get into recovery. I tried rooting using various methods ( DooMLoRD's Easy Rooting Toolkit [v4.0](zergRush Exploit), [1-Click Root][Video Tutorial][No Odin required]) but they didn't work and I was unable to get into recovery again.
I was glad that something is working. Its not a paperweight, yet. So then I thought this is the software for 9100 I should try getting stock to i777's software.
So after that I followed Entropy's Return/Unbrick to Stock, Kernel + Rooted System Package with Modem using Odin3 One-Click Downloader (Windows). Works fine ODIN says PASS. Boots with At&t logo and gets to "Touch android to begin" but when i touch it nothing happens. Couple pop ups appear time after time. "The application google services framework (process com.google.process.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again" Also about Synchronization and calender. I tried to search but can't seem to find anything Useful.
I can get into download mode only.
Any help would be appreciated.

I don't think you've actually searched, because it's been said s few times already that you have to boot into recovery and factory reset.

Thanks for the reply Nick. I did see that but thats the problem I am not able to get into recovery. The button combos are not working (Holding vol up, down and power until samsung screen comes on second time OR holding vol up, down and power and once screen comes on letting go of the power button)(from power down state, of course). I've tried multiple times. I did make a nandroid on my ext sd card before I flashed so if I could just get into clockwork recovery I would've tried restoring to that. I did read that there is an android recovery as well...I couldn't get into that either (I think).
Edit: I just tried it again and the Samsung screen comes on the second time but instead of going into recovery it goes to At&t boot screen and then to "touch android screen".
PS. I guess I should have stated clearly that I am unable to get into recovery for some reason. See, it was all making sense in my head when I writing the OP but I guess the point didn't get across. I wanted to be concise and precise. But I guess now the issue is more clear.

The only thing I can think of at this point then is maybe trying to use adb

Check out my signature. You can unzip the portable adb on your pc and try the reboot_recovery file. This will only work if your machine can detect your phone and you have the right drivers.

Worked like a charm. Restored to stock with root. Flashed a kernel with cwm. Flashed new ROM (to update to latest Cwm). Restored last backup. This bad boy is up and running like new. Thanks to all you folks.

[Q] SGH-I717: Firmware Upgrade Error

Hi,
BeforeI begin I would like to state the I have searched the forum for solutions but the ones i findthe person can get into DL mode the only one that is just like my issue doesnt show how ODIN worked for him. but anywho...
I have a Glaxy SGH-I717 and it is stuck at the "FIRMWARE UPGRADE ENCOUNTERED AN ISSUE. PLEASE SELECT RECOVERY MODE IN KIES & TRY AGAIN."
How this started was I newly installed Kies and tried to back it up, but by mistake started to upgrade it. not wanting to mess up the phone I let it run without the phone being in download mode. after a bit the upgrade failed and my phone was stuck at the error message screen above. to reboot the phone i have to remove the battery. pressing the button on turns it off but back on at the error screen. my computer makes the sound like it recognizes the phone but doenst show it in my computer. Kies just says connecting for awhile then stops.
Things I cant do with the phone
- get into download mode - when trying it goes the the press up or down button (ethier one goes to error screen)
- get into recovery mode - the samsung logo flashes for a second then goes to the error screen
things i have tried
- Using oding to flash ROM(tried two different files both from da_g for flashes)
each time odin states it failes at the write stage
- Kies emergency recovery (it freezes at 0% somtimes it says the phone is disconnected)
- Used one click fix program (made me click more then once)
I'am curently looking into trying the adb solution usind android sdk. just making the post here to see if anyone knew a easier solution to this.
Fixed
Problem is fixed, switched USB ports and found a different ROM to flash in ODIN. I now see why people love ODIN better then Kies

what ROM did you use? where can I find it? I have the same problem you had, except I was only trying to hard reset the sgh-i717 but the only option I could seem to get to was "A custom OS can cause critical problems in phone and installed applications. If you want to download a custom OS, press the volume up key......" etc This is my friends phone I was just trying to hard reset it because she forgot her pattern lock, so I downloaded a ROM and odin and when I attempted to flash it, it got to that error screen you had. It lets me get back to the previous screen but always goes back to firmware upgrade issue screen no matter if i choose up or down. :crying: I have flashed a couple phones before by following tutorials on the web. I though it was only giving me that option because the phone might have already been rooted, it never let me go to the wipe data menu. The instructions all said to hold volume up + home + power, it never did anything for me. I was only able to get to the custom OS screen by holding volume down and power button. you were able to get back to the ready to flash screen? Tried taking out the battery and turning off with power button always goes back to Firmware upgrade encountered. Please help if you can, if I am breaking some forum rules sorry! just need help! Am running windows xp, since the phone was loccked have no idea what it was running, just that its an att samsung galaxy note sgh-i717. it saysin odin mode, custom binary download: no, current binary : samsung official.

I have read several forums searching for answers, no one ever stated that odin will still work while on the screen that said "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue..." pretty positive it flashed the lock screen background and the user settings that were on the lock screen are no longer there it had said something to the effect of " ____ password protected!" ill leave the blank up to your imagination. The user settings are gone but not the pattern lock! all I want to do is hard reset to eliminate the lock pattern lock???
Thanks

Sorry to rez such an old post but i broke screen on my current phone and needing another phone asap I ventured into the big bin labeled Misc Phone Parts and all i could find (screen came on)was my old Note. Popped in in Sim using an adapter.
And thought i was good until I saw Phone icon dots Yellow triangle dots PC monitor. Firmware Upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again.
After about 6 hours I do not have it working. I am not new to samsung flashing having flashed my first phone 4 years ago and since then installed 30 plus custom ROMS on all my Galaxy phones through out the years. Sure I can just find used much better phone but then this will not be resolved and will keep me up at night. (if your like this you know what I am talking about).

[Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Verizon LTE (sch-i905) bricked, no recovery

Verizon Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE (sch-i905)
So I got this tablet from a friend who said it was bricked, said I could have it if I got it working. So I plug it in and it turns on no problem, strange. wiped tablet and added a couple apps. Got busy at work and the tablet drain power. That's when I got to see it bricked, but still not sure why it booted for a bit for me.
Symptoms:
Boots to Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 splash screen (not the animated one after), sits there for ever.
Boots to Odin update mode
When booting to recovery I get a blank, back lit screen and nothing ever.
I've tried:
-Pushing clockwork mode to fix recovery
-I've had a hell of a time finding stock firmware for some reason (it isn't on sammobile), but I did find one eventually. I pushed it to the tablet via Odin, and it was successful, but rebooted to blank black back-lit screen. Have to hard boot and hold power buttun until I see the splash screen to get that far. I followed the guide on rootzwiki reposted on icsforums - www icsforums com/forum/showthread / 13525 (sorry new member can't post links)
-Followed another guide that involved draining battery completely, no go.
I don't care what firmware I end up on, or if I can use LTE (I won't anyway)
I'm a network engineer so I'm tech savy, but not heavy on Android OS. I'm looking for anything else I can try. I saw another method involving heimdall suite, but can't find the files for my model.
Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated.
@Juicebox4242
I had this problem on my gt-p7510...
What I ended up doing was wiping my sdcard..I must have had something corrupt in my file system or a kernel issue( still not sure which )..
Since you have no recovery..I think you can use odin to repartition ( I CAN NOT STRESS ENOUGH THAT THIS IS JUST A GUESS )..I have not tried it..but i will search after this post to confirm..I also believe there is a way using ADB..again not sure..
I just wanted to post this so you would know somebody was looking and to maybe give you a couple ideas to follow up on...I'll search around and see what I find
Edit...I believe ADB will only work with usb debugging checked...But you can flash a stock rom in odin with re-partition checked..you need a .pit file....I think...
Edit...Here is a link to a stock rom thread for you're device..It seems to have helped a couple people with their soft-bricked devices..just follow directions in OP..no repartition checked. I cant even find a .pit file to do a re-partition with for you're device..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1342995 Let me know if this works for you..
Thanks for the post!! Really appreciate it.
That firmware is the one I found in the end and tried. Odin pushes it ok, but then still doesn't boot. In fact after pushing that firmware it boots to backlit blank screen, but when hard reset boots to splash screen.
I tried a pit file I found that I thought was the right one, but it failed when I used that so it must have been wrong.

I have the exact same problem as you, except sometimes I can't my tablet to boot. I know it is a software problem because before I was messing with recovery yesterday, everything was working just fine. All I wanted to do was restore to factory settings and instead ended up bricking the device... If you find / know the answer, please do share.

Did you ever get this fixed? I've had the same problem for months. I just gave up and put it away. I recently fixed a Galaxy Tab 2 and now I want to see if anyone else was able to fix this i905 not booting issue.
did anyone know the solution of this question
