[q] htc desire sv root?

Please let me know if Desire X Root will work for Desire SV? Or if there is any way to root it?
Almost all HTC phones have the same rooting method:
1. Unlock bootloader using HTCdev.com website
2.Flash some ZIP files
Look on the Desire SV forums.

@Stereo8: Did not understand "Flash some zip files"
Could you tell me what are they and availability...
Can you be specific going forward, if possible..
@padu333: I struck my new Desire SV just by using Desire X recovery,
So, be patient until we get SV recovery images.
Could anybody give Desire SV root files and procedures
Thanks in advance...

Come on, there is no Desire SV forum yet, plus, he needs a working clockworkmod recovery for his device first.
There is a tutorial on making a clockworkmod recovery on this forum (link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1952935) OR go to
http://builder.clockworkmod.com/ and try to build one that way. The recovery image you need to use the site, you'll have to get from a ruu for your device (search for poster "football" in all forums and see if you can find the one you need)

i say better wait for the desire sv [dsv] forum to build up first. anyone who attempts to root or do whatever to their dsv should know the consequences of not having the resources to go back to stock or recover their dsv from problems that maybe faced.
a forum in general combines ideas, discussion from all over, which minimizes the ultimate chance of bricking your device way before you have even enjoyed it.
when will desire sv have a forum?
I have bought desire sv and i am desperately waiting for the desire sv forum to build up .. any ideas when its goin to build up?
yeah, any idea how i could root my htc desire sv? please help.

[Q] Stuck on HTC Logo

Hi all
I installed new recorvery.img from XDA and then installed MusicBox-mySENSE-v and now my phone is stuck on HTC logo..I have 3 backups but no one of them work...I really dont know why and I want to ask is there anyway to fix my phone without to delete all setups, games, app and etc. Is possible ?

PS:
I reflashed my phone without full wipe and now its ok....
Anything with mySense-v is for One V only; will not work for DX.

You can recover the device through these steps,
1. Boot into 'bootloader'(vol down+power)
2. relock the device.
3. Install RUU.
That's all. Whack the THANKS button if i helped..

Need HTC One X+ stock recovery.img

I'm trying to get my phone as close to stock as possible and I can't find the recovery.img anywhere (it's encrypted in the RUU, and currently no way of getting to it). Does anybody have a backup of the O2 UK One X+ recovery?
Thanks

Yes, there are 3 ways
1. Softwate/OTA update from HTC (Officially)
2. S-OFF your Desire X and use a modified P66IMG.zip to manually flash hboot update.
3. Use an RUU for Hboot update (if available)
Regards
Yasir
As far as i know option two (S-OFF) isn't possible for Desire X as of yet, and option three (a JB RUU) hasen't been released.
So we're just left with option one. Do i miss something?

You can only update hboot via OTA update, and for that, you need stock Rom, like it was before rooting, and stock recovery. Then you'll get the hboot update to 1.24 and then 1.25 hopefully.

is anyone besides V6 maniac working on the s-off ? I woulda thought s-off would be one of the first few things people would of worked on after disabling write protection and rooting the phone or am I wrong ?

s-off involves high risk of bricking the device thats why devs stay from it and its very hard to attain s-off as it requires lot of hardware knowledge.. leavin aside some fancy mods, we can still do alot of development without s-off
S-OFF
ohok didnt realise it was that hard to do also when a device is bricked due to this does that mean using a JTAG recovery thing, (I saw one of the guys in the elegancia rom post meantion this) would not recover a bricked phone ?

jtag should allways be able to recover any bricked device (thats kinda point of using it)
oohk just got the idea that it didnt always work although the JTAG thing I was looking at did several things like S-OFF supercid etc

You're not stupid, just not reading much.
Yes, you need a stock ROM with everything intact (not even a single file is missing).

@ckpv5.
I recently tried an experiment. My bro Huawei phone got ota but as he had modified system apps, the ota failed. His ota also had firmware and hboot update (89mb)
I opened the ota zip, in updater script removed all assert checks, and then flashed ota, and it completed, even his firmware and hboot got updated. Have we ever tried fooling HTC stock recovery ?

New s-off method

Hi guys,

Not all of them, but there's a list somewhere on that site. And it also works on HTC One S (even with those hboots that don't allow facepalm or moonshine methods), even though not listed. The site claims it should work on EVERY Qualcomm based HTC device.

Can you ask the devs of rumrunner for support? Maybe "every modern qualcomn based HTC device" doesn't match ours in some way...
This isn't new and it was mentioned on our sub-forum a while ago and already confirmed not working, and i thought a load of users already messaged the team but none ever gave an update on it
+1 Not working with stock rom, may be with next release 0.51 ...
Damn...
Were you guys who tried this on unlocked bootloader and rooted? These seems to be recommended prerequisites.
By the way, to ask for support thy say:
support for rumrunner s-off is available at #rumrunners on the freenode and andirc networks.

frankly, that takes 5 seconds on fastboot. Only gripe is that u have to use a PC, but still we dont have that many kernels or Roms to flash in order to make s-off much useful
On my old bravo, it made more sense, because they could remap all the partition sizes and hence decrease size of cache and system partition and added that to data partition.
But still, maybe someone will benefit from it

Yeah! There aren't much kernels or roms to flash & roms can be flashed through recovery!
But the major feature is that we can get our bootloaders locked instead of relocked & have the warranty back.
On the One S subforum they say it doesn't work unless you unlock the bootloader and root.
