btw what i mean is the HTC Desire X factory kernel image
This is a link of a full system dump made by MarteenXDA. It has a stock kernel and ROM. Hope it solves your problem.

Can't you just reflash a stock RUU ? It's available somewhere on the board here
I flashed it with stock but its very unstable and crashes all the time someone get me a link to get the correct kernel file

Sorry for improper posting..but there's no particular forum for HTC Desire U
As there's no forum,there are no methods to root it..and overclock it
I request the developers to come up with a method for rooting HTC Desire U..since both are similar type of devices..
I hope I get a reply soon..

The Desire X and U are not very similar, the only way I could find was this: http://androidrootboot.wordpress.com/2013/06/03/root-any-htc-android-phone-or-tablet/
Read that post...will have to report after I try it..

Have you tired the standard unlock bootloader at htcdev and then flash SuperSu
Or the program at unlockroot.com

You won't be able to flash SuperSU manually since there doesn't seem to be any custom recovery for your device.
You have to start with unlocking bootloader at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader
Next try using:
HTC Quick Root (use the Universal Exploit)
SuperOneClick
UnlockRoot
No guarantee of any of these working but it's worth a try. Make sure USB Debugging is enabled and you have the HTC drivers installed.

Nope, almost every android device needs to be unlocked before rooting or installing rom, and the process isn't that complicated

I've just unlocked my BootLoader from HTCDev...but what next?
The thing is still S-ON...what do I do now to root it? Could you please help me out?
There is no S-OFF for your phone but you can still root with S-ON.

I've tried the above methods like Universal Root...but the recent software update might have patched the method as a result it is showing me that the method has failed due to the firmware update!
and other methods are with S-Off...now I'm struck in between those...what to do now?
You don't need S-OFF with SuperOneClick (not sure about UnlockRoot)
You can also try SRS Root
As I said, there is no guarantee of success.

I have a HTC Desire. The device name appears to be ZARA. I am trying to install Ubuntu on it but there seams to be no support for ZARA devices. Has anyone every tried this or know how it could be achieved?

HTC Desire 501 Stock Recovery
Hi,
I have htc desire 501 dual sim Phone. this device is not listed in CWM or TWRP custom recoveries. so i tried with most suitable recovery of htc one v recovery but it did not work , whenever i reboot in recovery at that time phone stuck at boot screen then nothing happen.
i need stock recovery of HTC Desire 501 Dual sim.
It will be appreciated if any one can help me with this.
