I use a case that I picked up at Verizon. It's not nearly as rugged as an OtterBox but it's gorgeous, low-profile, and has a kickstand. The holster is kind of a tight fit, but I have never used holsters anyway (a nice screen protector is good enough for me.) I've dropped my phone from two feet a couple of times and it's still ok, but I wouldn't place a ton of faith in this case when it comes to trauma.

lol @ rezzed thread....I dunno if this is the same one he got way back when, but since I just got the phone here is my body glove case. I like it so far. I can rest it on the screen side without worrying about a piece of sand or something scratching it. Getting a skinomi to protect the screen anyway though.

Don't get skinomi... the one on my RAZR HD was my first skinomi and it'll be my last... orange peel, came with bumps and scratches that never went away my screen looks disgusting right now...
That case looks sick! Too bad I can't find it for the non-maxx, hit me up if you find one like this for the non-maxx please!

I've used Skinomi on multiple products in the past, never had a single problem. I wonder if you got a bad one, or if they recently changed their mfg process? I've used them on both my touchpad tablets, asus transformers, htc evo, htc view 4g...
I've also used bestskinever, zagg, some german company, the generic garbage at vzw and sprint stores, as well as cheap ebay junk. Skinomi is the only brand I liked. Feels good to draw on, no "scratches" present on the skin like with other brands (especially prevalent on the view 4g with the pen. Friend had one as well with a BSE skin on it, and you could see marks all over the screen protector that never went away).
I'm going to stick with them unless they really did change their product. If they did, I'll know in a few days.

I'd suggest doing a warranty claim anyway.
They specifically say there is no yellowing, so if yours has that issue they should replace it.

I've had the Active cases on my Epic and Evo... I figured I'd stay with the same case. Might rebuy once Seidio ones come out.

Oooohhh, do like. So far this is the only Evo 3D case I actually like. I'll look it up. I'll probably buy one next time I get paid.

Mine has blue surface cases $29.99 and black surface cases with holster $34.99...
The Cruiser was black only, no holster $34.99...
The Heavy Duty one was black with holster. $49.99

The only openings on the case are the screen/face, 2D/3D toggle switch, earphone jack and little mic opening.

i got the "rugged" version of this at best buy but returned it.. the fabric on the holster was messed up..
also, the case felt cheap.. i had the same case i got from them for the Evo and that one was good, loved it...
i have been a sedio fan for a while.. easy case to take off and put on.. i like to have the phone naked when i am phone. the otter box defender i got now sucks to take off!!! like the case but its a pain to take off.. not to mention the holster does fit the belt i use since its a wide riggers belt.
but i will be getting the sedio once its out and hope casualty is better than the best buy version.

I think these are nice cases, i even had one one my old evo but, if you drop it and it lands on the corner, those little claws will break. Unless they changed the plastic its made out of, that is the weak point of the case. I ended up with a ballistic on my last evo and that thing is a tank. I have the otterbox defender on my phone now. I always pic the most rugged case becase it keeps my phone in pristine condition which allows me to sell it and upgrade to the next phone for free.
yup , just as ugly (and probably as fragile) as the ones on the original evo....

Yup the corners do break easily.
I had the same issue with my evo.
I had 2 cases break on me - and my wife's broke on her too
All 3 were the tabs as mentioned above

Maybe some people can't handle the case. Contact Seidio, they are pretty good about it.
Maybe they don't create a quality product.
I've had a Surface and a couple Actives on my Evo. Had a Active on my Epic and never had a single issue. Maybe I baby my phones. I dunno. They've been more than great for me.

When did you buy your first active limited? How long did you use it? Maybe they fixed their quality issues...?
I know it wasn't only me having issues with the tabs - at the time I got on XDA/Amazon and everybody seemed to be experiencing the same thing. I started the return process and let them know that the tabs were an issue and I am sure others did as well.
I really hope they did fix this problem, because I loved the case other than that or I would have never bought a second one (I was hoping it was a fluke)
In the end I just went back to my official HTC case. I didn't like it near as much but I never had issues with it either.

I came across this case and was wondering if anyone has tried it out or anything like it? It looks nice but I'm afraid that it will come apart too easily as it is a two part case, or it might be made of cheap material. Thanks for the advice.

No problem. I don't think it's bulky at all especially compared to the otterbox, made better too in my opinion. And it picks up a little lint but not that much....

Just remember, white cases turn brown really fast. They show dirt really well. I had a white case for about 3 weeks. Now I'm using my otter box.

I decided not to get that case in the OP because of the hard plastic that might scratch the phone, but I ended up getting a two-piece case off Amazon.

It was only $2.89 so I had to try it out, I mainly got it because of the cutouts for the volume and power buttons.
Edit: Just in case someone was looking at buying this, it does cover up the top mic..

I got the Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case...
It costs almost $10 but It does the job perfectly and you get a screen protector free along with it...
But that's for the tip of the wrong picture on amazon. I do most of my shopping there and it is certainly a shame...
With such a beautiful phone, I really dont want to cover it up. I bought a very minimal case but I'm not sure if I will use it or not. Its also a big phone so it may be easy to fumble so even though I have never dropped a phone, the thought of having that case on there for the what if moment.
So are you going to go Naked or is the security of having a case more important to you?
With the exception of a snack size Ziploc bag to keep dust out at work I always go naked and haven't had any problem yet but I hope to keep this phone for a while so I have been shopping around for the perfect case
I have a full body set of Xtreme Guard protectors on it, basically a cheap Zagg without the orange peel.
I would love to go naked but because its such a beautiful phone i need some protection. So ill be using a case thats got minimal protection but still keeps it nice and thin

That is what I have ordered as well. Can't go wrong. Ordered a full body set and a spare screen protector.. Used Zagg on my iPhone 4 and the orange peel was horrible.
I have an Infuse 4G car dock.. so can't add too much of a case without making that no longer work.. (although I am going to likely modify the holder a bit and see if I can make it work with a case.. will see)
I am assuming that the 3rd party accessories will start appearing soon.. some pretty nice cases.. the phone I find is a bit smooth and hard to hold onto.. nearly dropped it a couple of times.

I would never do that in my life, all my previous phones were protected by full body protectors and TPU or silicon cases. When I get this device nothing will change, I don't take no chances with stuff like this; GSIII deserves to be protected IMO.

I ordered the infuse charger but cancled after thinking i wouldnt be able to use it with a case. Please post a review with pictures if you are able to modify.
I have a invisi shield on mine fitted specifically for the gs3. i like that alot. keeps the big nice screen protected and scratch free. The back of the phone also has the invisi-shield on it. Im currently shopping around for cases to add to the protection also. I have a tendency to lap my phone when getting out of the car. Its the only time my phone has a chance to touch the ground. You can Never get to much protection. i would hate myself forever if i destroyed this beautiful machine
I'm naked at the moment with pebble blue and I like the color now, I usually don't put cases on my phone but don't feel like paying for insurance so I got a tpu case from amazon it should be here this week, will see how I like it

The purpose of these small slim phones is that they be...small and slim!

I ordered mine last Monday and chose the basic shipping and even though it said it wouldnt be here until late next week, it actually went out for delivery today!
Mine showed up today, woudl've got on earlier, but I've been playing the BF4 Beta all day Lol
I had to try different dhl sites for the tracking number to work, I think I searched "dhl global" into google.
I bought this before I was sure that I would buy an N3, and if I did I had something cheap to use right away. I also wanted to see how big it felt in my hands, case and all. (pocket too)
First thoughts:
Looks like it's well designed (or at least the mold for making it was).
It feels fairly thin to medium in the sense that it's not too thick, but not so thin it's too thin to provide protection.
I thought it was 2 seperate pieces, it's one piece, the back being hard and the sides being soft.
I would say that the back is about the thickness of 2 credit cards and the side is about 1 card thick.
Sorry I havent bought the phone yet, or else I would provide pics of it in the case.
I'm glad I bought this and well worth the under $10 shipped price tag.
Color affects the price btw, I think the clear ones were more expensive.
I may cut slots near the finger grips to provide more traction. I have a large case for my s2 that had a kickstand that broke out and left a rectangular hole in the center, it allows me to grab it with my finger tips and stretch my thumb all the way across the screen, without tilting my phone to let gravity keep it in my hand, which would cause the screen to rotate.
Plus the holes will help keep the battery cooler, a bit more important in the desert.
I just got it today, and got to say is pretty nice for the price, don't know why the pics show the name on the case but mine don't have it. Which I thought it would when I ordered it. No biggie.

Lol I'm waiting on the slim armor and paid 6 bucks for this one on the time being. I'm just glad I have a case that fits, I had it in my trident case for my note 1 the last two days, and it barely fit and none of the holes matched.

How did it break? I have the sprint model and I set my phone down next to a laptop exhaust port. Cool glass meets warm table annnndd......spiderweb. I actually picked it up and watched it crack all over. Lol luckily it was within 30 days of getting it so I exchanged it for a new one and bought a case.

Set it down on a wooden desk like every day, with a case on! No visible damage or anything.. Hour later I just hear it cracking.
The rear glass is very delicate, I have read people posting that even with the cover on, the glass split into millions of pieces.

probably the ones that broke were of inferior quality . First batch maybe ?
I have also heard that the AT&T versions were the ones with highest quality.
Mine is likely first batch. Got it week three of November 2012.

Does the skin make the phone build up heat faster? I'm only asking because it might shorten the battery life faster in the long run.

Not any hotter than usual.
I dropped my lg once without a case on onto concrete. It bounced off a bottom corner and sent a curved crack up the back, and may have harmed a small portion of my digitizer in the same corner it bounced from and that's about it. I bought the cruzer lite case about a week after that happened, about a year ago, and I've dropped it several times on rougher surfaces with no additional damage. Not sure if the case is that badass for just being plastic, but it keeps me worry free.
