Battery percentage - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm stock rooted running .19 radio and using Rom Toolbox now for the new battery icon with the percentage, but it only shows the percentage for every 20% increments. Any mods to change the battery icon to show 1% increments? None of the battery options allow for 1% increments in Rom Toolbox and if they do, it says the system files aren't available.

Google 1% battery mod for the Thunderbolt. There is one floating around somewhere. The problem with Rom toolbox doing it is that after you change it there is no way to go back to stock unless you have a backup.

I am stock rooted, don't remember what it was called. I am waiting for the ICS to finally get dropped to us so some of the ICS roms will be ironed out with camera and wifi.

Luckily, Rom Toolbox asked before it flashed the theme if I wanted to make a backup. After 2 days, I resorted back to the backup.

Nusense has working camera and WiFi. Don't know if you tried it yet. Have you tried making the mod yourself using the uot kitchen?

I haven't tried it yet. That's why I was trying to find the battery mod. Haven't tried making one yet either, I'm not a complete noob but still a little apprehensive.

I can't find the google mod anywhere. Any ideas??

[MOD]Battery Mod (Accurate, Blue) *UPDATED 11-4-10*

Here is a battery mod i put together. The screenshots below give it no justice. Try it and let me know what you think. It will work on any 2.1 ROMS*** MUST BE A ROM WHICH SUPPORTS ACCURATE BATTERY OR HAVE ALREADY APPLIED ANOTHER ACCURATE BATTERY MOD (ex. Bionix Roms)***. This swaps out some files in Framework-res.
***NANDROID FIRST***
-Open Metamorph
-Select 'Unzip/Extract New Theme'
-Select 'BatteryUpdate.zip'
-Apply All
***This morph ONLY mods the battery***
Thank you Flak_Munkey for your help!
You said that the morph only mods the battery but there is a SS of the wifi, bt etc, are those changed also? The battery mod looks nice, I dig it.
Ok I applied it and its just the battery icon as stated in the op. I have to admit its pretty sweet. How do the percentages work? The mod shows my battery is at 80%, however a battery widget I have says 75%.

Thanks. Been looking for the stock battery in blue with percentage. I'm also interested on the calculation. The icon shows 100 but when I do settings;about phone;status, battery level show 90%.

The percentage works pretty simply. I just replaced the stat_sys_battery0-100 png's in system/framework/framework_res. I've been running it for 2 days without any problems. I would recommend fully charging the phone so everything can reset at 100. Let me know if this works, otherwise I'll have to work on a fix. Thanks.

Still not working for me man after charging to 100%. I applied it correctly and didn't get any errors.

Ok, I gotta fix this when I get home today. I think I've found the problem. I'll update the OP. So its just not displaying the correct percentage?
Yes, the mod says 100% but a battery widget I have says 89%. Also I'm not sure if your mod has a charging motion but if it does that dosent appear to be working either. Thanks for sharing your work with us!

Not showing the right percentage on mine. I'm running rooted/stock JI6. Thanks for the effort and looking forward to your update.
Mentalex asked me to help him on this morph. The morph is fine and does what it is supposed to. ljv, the reason it is not working on yours is you are running stock JI6, and stock , iirc, does not have the accurate battery fix in place to use this morph. Apply either the accurate battery mod (this one should work - no guarantees - was created by s0niqu3 for stock) or a ROM such as Bionix Final or Fusion, then apply the morph.
Bronk, what ROM are you running? I am assuming at the moment it is the same situation as ljv.
Edit: the charging part of this where it is not fulling up completely during the animation is due to the way the morph was created. I let Mentalex know what was wrong, so hopefully a fix for that will be made soon.
Thanks Flak. I just borked my phone. I'm guessing I shouldn't have clockworked the zip file? Restoring it now. Nanroid is your friend

NP ljv. I thought that version of the accurate battery would work, but I guess not. Oh well. I may make something that will work later, but I would recommend switching over to one of the Bionix Rome anyway.

No biggie. It's a learning experience. When I first came here, I was too afraid to do anything. After doing lots of reading, I'm pretty comfortable hacking the phone now. This thing is hard to kill
Thanks Flak. I'm gonna fix the issues with this tonight. Thanks for your patience everyone!
Yes I'm running stock ji6 also, that sucks it won't work, oh well.

You take full responsibility for any damage you may do to your phones, but ljw and Bronk, if you want to replace the framework-res.apk file (which has the files that control the battery images/animations), you can use the attached and do an
adb push "location of the file"\framework-res.apk /system/framework
adb reboot

Click to collapse
.
Or use something like Root Explorer to replace the file.
It *should* work and have an accurate battery, and then you will be able to flash this or other battery morphs and have them work properly.

If anyone tries this pease let me know if it worked so I can include it in the OP.
I restored my phone so all is good.
There are working accurate battery mods out that that I successfully flashed with no problems. I just went back to stock because I didn't like the color green. Was hard to read the percentage. So, maybe I should flash that again, then morph this blue one?

There are mods like that. They just have not came up with it for nero yet.
Oh ok. How would I be able to find them if they would become available? Is there like a list of mods for certain roms anywhere?

Search for batter status bar in the market. No root needed and very customizable.

[Q] App that gives accurate time till battery is discharged/charged

Looking for an app that can give me an accurate time of when my battery will be completely dead, charged, and current percentage. Tried battery eta and currently use battery diviner which.gives me everything Ibwant but I feel its not to.accurate at times. Anyone know if there is a really good accurate app out there or should I stick with just checking the battery level?

This is my first time uploading a picture using my phone, so I don't know if you have to click it or if it will embed, but here is a screen shot of ZDBox's battery manager. You can also set is to display in the notification bar if you choose.

I use the cyanogen data toggle or data toggle widget from the market to turn off 3G when I'm not using it and it makes a HUGE different in my battery life.

AccuWeather Widget (Stock Rom)

I'm trying to get this widget to follow me around from city to city automatically... I checked the settings and I can't figure it out. For anyone coming from HTC you would eember the stock sense clock would follow you around by itself if your gps was on.
Any ideas?

I believe GPS still needs to be turned on in order for it to access your current location. I always leave GPS turned on. Its only active when an app requests your location or when you have an app such as this one, scheduled to find your location.

Yes....
Either the stock rom, or Saurom....
I prefer GB to ICS ot JB, as my operational speeds are much faster, and battery life is 20-30% better for me....g

BLN, OC all the goodies, plus 15 toggle mod etc.
Best one I've found....
Stock rom is the .tar image via Odin, then the root kernel from DA_G......g
