Xperia S or Xperia T - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
I just want to know which xperia phone are better and why because i cant decide which one im will buy
Sent from my LT15i using xda premium

This is a close call.
T has bigger screen of 4.5 but in tft, S has 4.3 led with slightly more pixel density. T is with 16 gb and S is with 32gb. T has 13mp and S 12mp.. close. T has dual core krait processor with same 1.5ghz.
If you see S is more promising to me. But I'll advise you to goto some store and see by yourself, afterall you are buying.
and one more thing in xda T has seperate forum and S shares with sola, go and other phones.
Atrix 4G, CM7 based TopSmarts 1.3 rom, Faux123 1ghz kernel

I test both phones today and i choose xperia s thx for your reply

Thinking of switching to Samsung galaxy ace. Any thoughts?

Hi, I've been using Lg O1 for 4 months. And I think I want to switch to other phone my target is the galaxy ace. I'm pretty disappointed about the touch bug by Lg. Do you think Lg will fix this on the upcoming official gingerbread ROM?
If its not, I'm switching to the galaxy ace by the end if July(probably).
What do you think?

I think it doesn't have 512 MB ram.

I think Samsung is a bad option no matter which model you get from them. If you want to change, go with LG, HTC or some other. Samsung is horrible.
If you want an upgrade then make a real upgrade, not from 600mhz to 800 and an aparently slightly better-balanced device; being another budget smartphone I'm sure it has its problems. Go buy something like an Optimus Black or Desire S or something more powerful than your actual device.
Don't upgrade from a budget device to another budget device.
Galaxy ace? HTC wildfire s seems good. 600Mhz Processor with 512MB of RAM and runs Gingerbread. 5MP cam with 24 fps recording. This is the best option if you are going for a budget phone. Spend some more get i9003.

+1 unless you're getting a flat out trade for it.
I would even go for the new wildfire s and xperia minis rather than any samsung midrange phone(as they tend to forget their midranges after releasing).
BTW, how come SGA forum is in the legacy device section?????
As others have said above, not worth it.
As for the lag, two lagfix kernels here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11193044&postcount=1 (and there are many more of those if you search the forum).
Ungaze is right, support for cheap samsung phones is sooo crappy. A friend has a galaxy 5 and he's stuck on 2.1. 2 weeks ago kies announced a sw update but it can't be downloaded because of server errors.

What will you do with these, if it doesn't have 512 MB ram. Samsung has been following the practice of throttling down their non flagship phones to 256 MB ram. So that after selling, they want the consumer to look for higher versions.
If this phone has 512 MB ram + flash you can go for it. In india o1 is $225, ace is $300, i9003 is $400 and sgs is $490.
You just need to check whether it has 512 MB ram or not.
If it has it's not a bad choice.

I think you should go for arm v7 processor phone. None of the phone above has arm v7 or higher processor. I say no to arm v6 ( arm 11 is v6).

Well, i've done this change. Went from LG to Samsung.
I have an Ace for a month know.
My two cents:
- Samsung looks much better in terms of construction (I allready opened my O1)
- Samsung is way faster with the gingerbread ROM
- Love the gorilla glasss display and the style of the phone
- I don't have RAM problems. Galaxy S doesn't have much more than Ace and is galaxy S.
- In terms of battery are similar
Cheers

Out of the 3:
Samsung galaxy ace
HTC desire C
Huawei ascend g300
Which one is the most fast and fluid and the most "future proof". Not in terms of software updates but in terms of which one would work just as fast in the future?
Thanks

It has got 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB RAM, so the H/W seems legit. But its still stuck with Android 2.3. You may even want to check if there is active development going on here at xda for customizations or ROM upgrading.
EDIT: If you're interested you may look the features of Galaxy Ace 2 I8160, it looks pretty cool too and slightly more features than Huawei and cash difference maybe not that high too.
Well the Galaxy Ace has by far the best battery life and Samsung phones always have the best Rom customisation scene so you can always keep your OS looking fresh.

If it gets ICS, then Huawei is a :good: from me.
But don't consider going for Ace now. Not that I'm saying its a bad phone, but its hardware is outdated and no enough RAM. Rather considering Ace 2 or Ace Plus will be good.
Now I've completely changed my mind after looking at some monthly contracts. Don't think the Huawei is an option anymore. It's between these:
HTC one V
Sony arc s
Sony Xperia U
Anyone offer any guidance on which to go for or even go for another?

- Every Phone coming with minimum 1GHz Clock speed (Arc S = 1.4)
- Only Xperia U has secondary camera (video call) but don't have SD card slot, it means you only have 8GB of internal memory, out of which 4GB is only usable.
- All coming with 512MB RAM.
Anyways HTC One V is the latest out of three with default OS as ICS. Other Sony phones should get an ICS update. And rest, the decision is upto you for which model you should go for. If you don't consider about Secondary cam, then One V is a done deal, and also performance wise it should be fair good as the hardware is updated to 2012 (Bluetooth is v4.0).
Good Luck!
Basically, they're all good, right?
Would the extra 400MHz of the arc S make a huge difference? Or the dual core of the Xperia U?
Also (slightly off topic), would a dual core processor, clocked at 1GHz be superior to a single core processor clocked a 1.6GHz? What are the benefits of more processors?

If you're gonna buy a new device, I would not recommend to buy the models that have been released one year old or so. Maybe its personal choice, but I feel that way.
That extra 400MHz may make a difference if you tend to overclock the processor to run the games fine without lag or so. I'm not sure anyways. But you told you're only interested to keep it as Stock and not interested in modding or flashing custom ROMs. Anyways I guess 1GHz is fair enough as every phone nowadays is coming with that clock speed, so its likely that Games should support.
If my knowledge is true (it could be wrong too, lol) I guess a dual-core processor performs more than a single-core even if the single-core is clocked at 1.6GHz or so. You should seek some more advice about this, because I'm not sure about what I said. But seriously, you want to go for Xperia U? It doesn't have SD card slot, all you have is 4GB of usable internal memory for apps/games. If you're a type of person that installs almost everything from Play Store, it doesn't have enough room for it to fit within 4GB memory. Otherwise, its fair!

Xperia J or Xperia U

Got a Xperia U although not really used it yet (waiting for ICS), but now seen the Xperia J for the same price, I know the U is dual core, but then the J has micro SD and a bigger screen, how much weaker is the processor?
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4930&idPhone2=4437
I cant really tell much difference to my single core Motorola Defy overclocked at 1GHz and my dual core Xperia S running at the default 1.5GHz ill be honest. There is obviously a difference but its not a breath taking one thats for sure.
Way weaker. It is just an redesinged xperia 11. Uses the same outdated laggy ics rom. Nothing compared to nxt phones

From the review of miro and tipo (which share the same internal as sxj). People calling it snappy.
Personally there isn't much different between q single core arc and my sxs for normal use. Probably in heavy games. But still I could play GTA on my arc easily.

that device isn't very good... the same Adreno GPU that X8 has, kinda sucks, and the processor is kinda slowwwwwww
I personally would go for the Xperia U, is clearly faster, better CPU and GPU, the same amount of memory the lack of memory card slot, and the smaller screen can make you think twice before you buy it but belive me, it is more than enought
I was going to buy the Xperia J until I seen the spec. The adreno 200 gpu is very weak and would really struggle with any decent game or even rom.
I now have the Xperia U and if you can get over the fact that the 3.5" screen is the exact same width as the tiny x8 then it is a great phone. The screen detail is very good and the phone sits perfectly in the hand.

Should I buy Motorola Atrix 4G or Sony Xperia Sola?

Need some advice; should I buy the Motorola Atrix 4G or Sony Xperia Sola? I plan to use it with Straight Talk AT&T.
Buy the atrix, it has more ram, better screen.. and you will have cm10.1 while sola won't since st-ericsson doesn't release sources for their chipsets.

Odp: Should I buy Motorola Atrix 4G or Sony Xperia Sola?
But Atrix will never have official 4.0 like sola, and it now doesn't have fully working port because of lack of kernel sources- some developers are trying to port but it is very hard. While sola has cm9 which works better than on atrix and probably will have cm10. And above all tegra isn't so good as it has been called. Novathor+ one core mali400 is more powerful- i can say it as a former owner of atrix. For me sola is better
