Serious Questions on rooting Galaxy S2 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys! 404 here!
I have some questions that I would like answered because I'm pretty weary on the idea of rooting. I understand that there is so many benefits of rooting a phone but these questions may seem strange but I guess I was taught to ask before I do.
If I were to root my phone on one carrier on the Galaxy S2 that I have currently with one company still in a plan, would I be able to insert another carriers SIM card whilst the phone has been rooted simply because what I thought is that the phone would be locked to that sim that was is in the phone being rooted.. Also, I forgot to mention. Would there be any other hazards such as that if I root the phone?
If I am able to root the phone and insert any SIM card into the phone at a later stage, could anyone provide me with a tutorial on how to root and unroot the Galaxy S2.
Thanks.

1. Rooting and unlocking are different things. But yeah you can unlock your device after you root it.
2. There are lots of tutorials on how to safely root.
3. It's really easy to unroot. You go to www.sammobile.com, download the firmware you want and flash through Odin.
4. Any other questions don't hesitate to ask.

[Q] 1st post!

Hello from Edmonton Canada Everyone! This form is fantastic. Lots of info.
I do have a few questions though.
My phone currently runs 1.6 and is very slow, choppy and glitchy. I think the fix is to root and install a different Firmware or kernal or rom, get 2.1 or somethin. I also hope this will get ride of all the apps, and brand apps that come with the phone. Is this the right path?
Do I have to get the phone unlocked to do this. Or is unlocking just allow you to insert any sim card. I am currently locked to Rogers. It seems I can't do anything with a different sim card in the phone, or no sim card. Anyway around this. Will I need to have my rogers card in to root the phone?
Hii welcome. I'm new too! and from Canada
Hello and welcome new guys
If you want to get the best from your phone yes you sill need to root it but first thing you both should do is update to android 2.1 just download Sony Ericson PC companion and let it guide you through the process. And when you get bored of that there is plenty of custom roms to try out. When you feel brace enough you will everything you need to know in the guide from my signitiure just bear in mind any roms based android 2.2 or higher probably wont have a camera and just to let you guys know that Sony wont update your phone past 2.1, its official. Anyway have fun and enjoy the forum, its a great place to learn ;-)

[Q] Bell Samsung Galaxy S2 unlock code question

Hello I just got the Samsung Galaxy S2 from bell and I was wondering if there is a step by step guide out for rooting and unlocking the Sim so I can use this on Rogers?
1) Root the phone using CFROOT/ you will have to flash a custom "rooted kernel" , search for CFroot and thats how you root. Beware that once u flash the rooted kernel theres no way to go back to the bell kernel
2) install galaxy s unlock by helroz from the market, it works perfect and will unlock the phone for free.
3) profit???

I've seen one guy on craigslist trying to profit $100 from an unlocked phone... good luck with that heh.
Thanks for the help no I'm not looking for profit I was using a blackberry for years but decided to try android so I looked around for a great android phone and this is the one I decided to get but I'm on Rogers so I needed to unlock it so I can use it.
samsung unlock no key found
Heya guys! I did root the phone and used tha
t app from market but the message is " no key found". Any advice pls?
You probably used Galaxy S2 unlock. That one doesn't work. Use Galaxy S unlock. It'll crash the phone at step 2 but you'll restart into an unlocked phone.
Try this app:

1 yes you can
2 so many do a search
3 no you cant update your phone if it is rooted
3.1 but you can update it by unrooting it temporarily using an app superuser
4 1 rooting will void your warranty
2 do it as clear as per the instructions for rooting else you will soft brick your phone you can unbrick that but take precautions
that's all take a risk friend

[Q] Galaxy S3 I9305

Hi guys
I have an I9305 which was on T-mobile before I had the phone unlocked so I could use my giffgaff sim. All is well, I can use the sim no problem and have done for about 8 months.
My query is regarding rooting...
I have Super SU installed on my phone but when I open it I get the binary code problem message. I downloaded a root checker which tells me my phone isn't rooted. To be honest, I don't care whether it is or not. All I really want is to be able to update my phone with official updates and still use my giffgaff sim. First of all, do we still get updates using a giffgaff sim? Is kitkat available yet? I'm still on 4.1.2.
So...rooting. How do I remove any remnants from the root which was apparently there (and still be able to use my giffgaff sim)? I was told the phone had to be rooted to unlock it. Or how do I go about rooting the phone in a safe way? Is there official kitkat versions available for this model that I can flash?
Thanks in advance for any constructive advice.
D
You have posted in the wrong forum, ask a moderator to move it to the i9305 q&a section. You also appear to be missing some basic knowledge, best go and read the sticky threads in general forum.

NO official KITKAT
After Root you can use your Sim as before!
To easy root, open Google and copy and paste this: "cf-auto-root-m3-m3zh-gti9305" (without quotes!)

Is it even possible to root a Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime SM-G530T1?

I don't know if anyone has made a post about it yet, but I've been searching how to root my phone and I've only seen how to unlock it, people using KingRoot (just bricks it and I've successfully un-softbricked it), or rooting it for another version thats not the one I have. I haven't seen anything on rooting this version so for future references I hope this post will help people with the same question. Dunno if that effects it but just in case you needed to know I have metro-pcs and after unbricking it I used a t-mobile firmware so it has all the animations and t-mobile apps. All I need to know is if its even possible to root it.
how did u un-brick it I just bricked mine the same way you did an cant find anyway to un-brick it please email me ASAP!!!!!! [email protected]
