Well, you need to have NFC capable android device for it to work. But I do doubt about S-beam as it is Samsung proprietary, but the Android Beam feature in ICS and above may work.

As mentioned in GSMArena, NFC is mentioned as optional. So first of all you have to make sure it is an NFC enabled phone, so Android Beam found in AOSP ICS should work. In the case of S-Beam someone may have to port it to S2, for it to work maybe. So chances are less.

Anyone using this with and S3? Any issues?
If not would anyone be willing to test? I could send some tags if needed.

I'm wanting to know this as well before I order some tags. It has the same NFC chip as the Galaxy Nexus & Nexus S, but I want to be sure it can write/edit tags by default.

No you can not possibly do that! Your device is completely different from the galaxy s3 for various reasons, by flashing a rom of other smartphone the only result will brick your device

When used in reference to consumer electronics, a "brick" describes an electronic device such as a smart phone, game console, router, or tablet computer that owing to a serious misconfiguration, corrupted firmware or a hardware problem, can no longer function. The term derives from the vaguely cuboid shape of many electronic devices (and their detachable power supplies) and the suggestion that the device can only function as a large, heavy object.

Sure hold on here whilst I flash the latest .ipsw file from Apple. I doubt that will brick my phone, after all, they are both smartphones!
But Is there any rom which is the same as the S3 firmware and needs no rooting

I dont think you are intelligent enough to do much with a phone.
But at least your next topic cant be as stupid as your first.
The one sought in the forum, there are custom rom leaving his appearance with the S3 S2.
Now this is really determined to install the rom S3 in S2, would you donate to your phone than using it with a paperweight in the future.

You can't use s beam on aosp roms. As for nfc, there were some people over in cm discussion thread talking about nfcfixes

Hold on.. is root box an aosp rom? If it is, it's wrong. If it isn't, ask in the dev or a q&a thread if they have one.
I just saw the title of the question and assumed it was aosp

Its an AOKP rom
There should be no s beam on the options then. Only nfc. Look for a fix in the dev thread?

In mine (omega EMB5) I have both - but Android beam is an sub-option under NFC, while S-Beam is an option at the same level in Settings as NFC.
I keep both "beams" stopped but NFC itself ON since that one does not seem to draw such a big amount of power (at least not in my configuration).
