It is small gap between purple and red,you have to install fastboot driver.
Try installing fastboot drivers before connecting.

hold the volume up while you put usb in down just press it led should go blue

I think it shows something like unlocked or completed .
You can try flashing custom kernel,if it is still locked, it will tell you to root first.

i did try and flash cm9.1, it said status 7 installation aborted

Did you wipe before you flashed?
Also did you fasboot boot recovery.img then wiped and flashed the rom..
Some folks had issues with that rom... Since it's a alpha thing...

Rom Install Issues

Hello, this is my second time trying to flash a custom rom on my HTC Amaze.
S-On
The last working rom on my HTC Amaze was Fourth Bar 3.0. The battery life was very poor so I have been trying to install a different rom ever since.
The last rom I have installed is, Engergy_8.1.2012.Amaze.Sense.3.6_ICS_STOCK_LOOK which is giving me my reason to post.
I am using 4ext Recovery. It installed the rom and also flashed the kernel (faux) and stock on the second install attempt. I also wiped everything before each install and also had the aroma installer wipe everything as well.
After install, it said it needed to reboot. Now it's stuck on bootloop. I can access recovery. But I am not sure what to do now. I have re-installed it twice with the same result.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for the help.
Wow...another one of these threads.
Flash the ICS RUU thread first. You can't just flash an ICS Rom coming from GB. It needs to be updated first.

I tried the 2nd link.
I did not get any icon. Went straight to 4ext.
["3. Reboot into bootloader and select recovery, it's gonna show the update icon then show you the icon some of you have been getting with the red triangle and exclamation mark, ignore this."]
So, I did not have this option,
["4. Hold your volume up button and press the power button, it's gonna say "can't open command/cache" then give you the default recovery menu."]
Tried installing in 4ext, I got an error message. Installation aborted.
Also tried this option,
["Note to users, if you're getting an error when you try to select the update file as instructed, simply rename the OTA file to update, then try applying update from sd card, let me know if that works for you instead, so I can edit this tutorial accordingly."]
Also did not work. Error message, installation aborted.

Did you relock your bootloader? You can flash the OTA file in recovery, If u renamed the file to update as soon as u enter the bootloader it will look for the file and ask whether you would like to update or not.

No I did not relock my bootloader.
Yes I tried flashing the OTA file in recovery and I also renamed it after unsuccessfully flashing it in recovery.
So I need to relock my bootloader I'm assuming?
I am not able to enable usb debugging.

Not that I kno of. Since your problem is that you tried to go from gb to ics without flashing ics ruu first right? So why don't you try flashing a gb Rom in recovery and see if u can boot up to enable USB debugging....

You can also try flashing this through bootloader http://d-h.st/BXk
then flash custom ics through recovery and see if it boots up
It's the firmware package you would get from the ics ruu that u need to run ics

Ok, I gave that a shot, didn't work. It loaded the .zip and said, "parsing" that was it. So then I went to recovery and tried installing Energy_8.1.2012.Amaze.Sense.3.6.
The install went fine..
Also, 4ext always says there is a pending update to my boot partition after every rom install, what is this?
Still stuck in bootloop. Now I will try a gb rom...
Thanks for your help so far, I appreciate it!
**I tried flashing Kumar's Simple GB Sense Rom and I'm still in bootloop...
Any suggestions?
This problem has been solved, so feel free to close if u want MOD.

1) Unlock your bootloader using the All-In-One tool. There is a video tutorial on this page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1493905
2)Get into the recovery (4ext in your case) and wipe cache, dalvik cache, data, and system
(use the all-in one tool to get in recovery or hold power + volume up)
Flash Speedrom 7.8.
Reboot and wait 5-10 minutes.

error: cannot load 'recovery.img' "
The file is there, debug usb mode is on and i'm using windows 7. I also downloaded adb drivers... am i doing smth wrong?
Thanks in advance

I have The same problem..
Did you guys rename the image file you downloaded to "recovery.img"?
Also, you're not trying to flash it with the phone turned on, are you? USB debugging has no bearing on fastboot mode... Make sure you're in fastboot mode and not bootloader mode also.
i double checked everything. I am in usb fastboot mode , cable connected to phone etc. it just doesnt work.. giving me the error message as before.

I have an ATT phone but currently living in Jamaica...I've had this phone for close to 2weeks now but im getting frustrated with all the att bloatware pre-installed..i would also like to tether using the phone but instead have to b using pdanet. i have already unlocked bootloader on htcdev following ur guidelines and i have all the correct htc drivers installed. upon looking through ur threads about the desire 610 i came across 1 person who has the same ATT phone and followed ur rooting guide but now has posted pics of their screen with icons to the left and the borders bigger...are u working on a new root or better yet, is there a way to enable tethering or uninstall the att bloatware without rooting the phone bcuz thats all i really want to do in the first place...and before i forget, i dont see an option to update the phone without using ATT, does this mean that i cant update to newer versions of kit kat knowing that im in jamaica... Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...
I'm not certain yet. Wait until I get a one click solution for you, and we'll see if it's something that's easily fixed. The root method is about as good as it's going to get. There's no exploit needed, so it's unlikely one will ever be created that will work.
try adding ( .img ) at the end so recovery.img.img it looks like, change to recovery.img then add another .img at the end.. worked for me isk why.. or use kingroot to root after bootloader unlocked. Sorry to add to old thread.
looking to but htc 610 phone, can all models be rooted ? dont wanna buy another phone and all but my model can root and twrp, i will lose it for real.. any help appreciated.. trying to stay with gsm unlocked or simple mobile and under $75 , as well as hotspot/tether on the phone in settings. any suggestions on phones to buy appreciated

command prompt

so trying to unlock bootloader on my m9,I get to the part where it says to copy device token and I click mark and try coping just the token key and I cant just copy the key, it only lets me copy everything and I have no idea how just to high light the key with out the bootloader and other stuff,Im running windows 10,I tried googling it and not finding anything on just coping certain text and not the whole line
Right click in CMD. click Mark, hightlight text with mouse. ctrl+c or move mouse to the top of window(white area with little CMD image) right click again, edit, then copy
Thanks,I will give that a try when I get home.trying to do it last night it was high lighting everything not just the key
