Missing Boot animation issue after Jelly Bean 4.1.1 - Galaxy S III Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, Members of XDA Developers,
I've had my Galaxy S3 for about 1 and a half month now. I haven't rooted it, in fact I don't know how to root or I don't know much about installing custom ROMS. Now I have updated it to Jelly Bean 4.1.1, after some time I restarted my phone and I noticed the boot animation (Samsung Swirl logo coming) vanished and there was just a sound of animation, but there was just black screen, no boot animation.
Please help me, it happened after updating to JB. Animation vanished, but sound is still there!
Please give me a solution

I got jelly bean update 4 days back. and noticed that animation is missing at the phone boot up. I see that you are from Lahore. Me too. May be its a common issue with the jelly bean build released to Pakistan

It's not a problem. It's just been removed.
Stop fretting....

Waleed, I got the solution. This problem comes with OTA Update. You'll need kies for it, and upgrade firmware version officially from Samsung's website. I updated and boot animation is back. Thanks to kies

lol - trick or treat!
Glad you found that most vital of all phone functions and can now enjoy your experience again.

[Q] Serious Issue with the Boot Screen :( Please Help

Hello
I installed the KANG ROM found in the following thread [ROM][KANG]CM9 ICS 10.1 WiFi Preview 02/08/12 and the boot screen seems to refresh/scroll endlessly. Once the lock screen comes up (which scrolls endlessly as well), if I press the power button to turn screen off and then switch it back on, the display is stable.
I use the Korean Version SHW-M380W (Galaxy Tabl 10.1 Wifi 32GB). I tried Galaxy Task Slim 13.1 and other ICS Roms found on XDA, but the result is same.
Can someone please let me know a fix for this?
Thank you so much.

Ping...
Doesn't anyone else face this issue?
I don't think it supports the korean tab
Hmm I saw that if I restore /boot from stock image backup in HC 3.2 this issue was solved. Tried and tested it and worked fine. But when I upgrade to ICS, there is no /boot to restore from. Just tried it with the Hc 3.2 /boot and the system hanged.
Probably different ramdisks as ics kang is based of devices they own and custom via the model as the Korean tab is not part of it you may need to request or hope someone donates one to them, and if it was the official update of ics it would work but these are custom made builds based off the source ics package given by Google so it isn't an official update like HC3. 2

Thank you for your reply.
have you tried romans?
Romans
You mean the AOKP one right? Yeah, I have tried it, but the same issue
I mean, the one from here: http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases
Build 28 to be specific. Strangely, the same (screen jumping) issue was there with CWM as well. And pershoot was kind enough to make a new CWM just for Korean tab. I wonder what changed though (Am quite a newbie to rooting and stuff, so dont really know where to go to)
The pershoots CWM which fixed a screen jumping issue for CWM (not for boot screen though) is found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360588
Thanks bro.
So its all fixed?
Oops, I missed the whole point Actually, I had tried that after the [ROM][KANG]CM9 ICS 10.1 WiFi Preview 02/08/12 version, but the issue persisted. Its only with the bootscreen that this issue exists. Once we go to the lock screen, the issues still exists, but a screen off -> screen on (using the power key) quickly restores the screen back to the non-fluctuating version.
Wait, why havent you used kang by Roman? Its already coming to 4.0.4
Build 29
Thanks Misledz: I tried out Build 29 located in the following page:
http://forum.aokp.co/page/releases
Still the problem persists
I think you need a clean wipe, like generally wipe everything off it, a factory reset and stock firmware flash, then see if it persists.
Only this solution worked for me on EU version:

Tried that but still no luck

I guess I have the same recovery. The issue is not with the scrolling recovery, but with the scrolling lock screen. Did it get fixed for you as well? Am using AOKP build 30.
Thank You!!!!

[Q] Random sim failure on sgs II with cm10 jb

i have had cm10-20121004-nightly-i9100 flashed to my s2 for about 1 month with only one issue, i have to keep retyping my pin code every now and then, at least 3-10 times a day. at first i thought the sim was faulty but last night i also flashed another s2 for a friend of mine with the latest cm-10-20121103-NIGHTLY-i9100.zip. he ended up with the same issue.
i really love the cm10 jb so i would like to find out what i've done wrong.
i used mobile odin pro to flash cm10 with everoot, and then i used recovery to flash gapps and TouchWiz Jelly Bean Addon 1.1 (TW UX).
my phone is Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 norwegian NetCom.
thanks in advance.

[Q] 4.2.1 frustration -____-

Good evening, all..
I just flashed the Slimbean 4.2.1 RC-2 to my device and as I went into the market, some of the same apps I had on the 4.2.1 RC-1 ROM earlier this week (as well as Remics-JB 4.2.1) are now saying "Device not compatible with this version". Of course, I'm aware that updates take time to come for newer Operating Systems, but as I stated earlier, these are the same apps I was just using on my phone with the SAME OS... -_____- It's annoying since I had actually gone through setting up RemICS-JB a couple days ago and then flashed this new update, but now I can't finish the setup because of this ridiculous issue. Anyone else run into this problem with Slimbean 4.2.1 RC-2? Or any other 4.2.1 ROM? Any ideas what the issue is?
It tends to come from a dpi mismatch. Read the slim thread for help.

[Q] Slim Bean Bug

Hello,
Well I had this bug lately with the new version of Slim Bean 4.2 that always rebooted my Galaxy S2.
I didn't have a problem with that until yesterday while my phone booted and doesn't want to load the phone.
I can think of a way of fixing the problem by installing the Rom again.. but the thing is.. why doesn't it load the desktop or show any living points except the main "Samsung Galaxy S2" screen?
