Does anyone know, or even have a guess of how many apps are compatible with the screen resolution on the nexus 10
It's likely that right now there are no Apps in the market which support this resolution.. Closer to it's release date or on the release date, I'm sure you will see that there are updates for your Apps bringing "official" support for 4.2 and sneaking in new resolution support for the Nexus 10.
I say "official" support because it is likely all Apps that support Jellybean will support 4.2, as it isn't a major update and is still called Jellybean.

The DPI system and the concept of "density independence" were designed with this sort of contingency in mind. Look here
Here are some "official" Google recommendations:
https://sites.google.com/site/androidpresssite/home/recommended-apps
Also many games are being optimized for the screen resolution:

http://blog.gameloft.com/index.php/2012/10/30/google-nexus-games/
Though it has to be said that if the devs make proper use of the tools and API, app quality should never have been a problem.

What makes this "official"?
Cleaned the thread a bit. Useless rantings about some apps are of no use. But there are some other posts here borderline. I'll have an eye on this thread and maybe clean again.

Ok so I have CM7.1 Alpha3.5 on the TouchPad. It's decent. However, it's just a blown up phone ROM with some tweaks to make it usable on a screen this large. This means that there's no panes in Gmail or other tablet optimized apps.
Now, I don't mean to diminish the work that has been done to things like the overlay for the buttons - that is really a slick implementation - but is there any way/place to get the tablet optimized versions of apps onto this thing instead of the phone versions of the apps? Or should I just shut up and wait for ICS to come out soon?
EDIT: Sigh. Mod, you can move this to the General section. My bad.
I was thinking of installing this, but if what you say is the case (all the apps will be like they are on the phone) then I guess I will wait til an ICS port comes out. I just REALLY want the Android apps on the Touchpad.
Install it! You have nothing to lose. You can boot into webOS OR CM7 via the startup menu.
Don't let one guy's complaints stop you.
Oh by all means install it. Its crazy fast and in a worst case scenario you lay an easier foundation for installing ICS when it is available. You don't have to use Android - this will get you dual booting.
If your talking about google music or netflix tablet versions, if you edit the device id to something like GT-i900 it will load up tablet versions.
At least this has been my experience...

Hmmmm... Can I do this on the device itself or adb to it or what?
Build.prop using a text editor of some kind will do the trick

In my situation, I've had the exact opposite occur: too many apps have told me to purchase the tablet version of their apps, such as SwiftKey for one. Netflix comes up as the tablet version, and i dunno about Gmail, but it doesn't bother me none if it's the phone view, it still works fine.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Really? I edited my building prop to the Galaxy 7 wifi only since it has same resolution as Touchpad using and is wifi, only. All my apps look gorgeous. Typing on SwiftKey Tablet right now. GT-P1010 Samsung, i used root explorer to and just edit the build prop right on your Touchpad. I think es file will work too

Yeah I understand that - but I'm asking if there's a way to install the honeycomb/tablet versions. It sounds like, from everybody else, that we can with a simple edit of the build.prop file.
I will give it a shot later! Thanx everybody!
Well if anyone knows how to get the Plume Tablet version to run with a build.prop setting that would be great.

Fyi there is a huge difference between "tablet version(hc)" and " tablet optimized " tablet optimized works on larger screen gb units( like our tp)
tablet version is intended for honeycomb devices with the appropriate framework and can only be loaded on honeycomb os.
The reason why ppl are needing to edit the build.prop is for the app/market to recognize our device as a compatible device/hardware on a "tablet optimized " app.
No matter what u do a "tablet version" application will not work on a "phone version " os.
If it were that easy to install a hc application, the current fragmentation would not exist within androids, and ics would not be that important coming out.
Just a food for thought rant since I'm seeing so many God damn threads about this matter lol..
Thanks for listening

Honeycomb source was never released so we are stuck with a phone optimized version of Android until we can get an CM9/ICS ROM. There are new APIs etc in Honeycomb that won't allow those apps to run in Gingerbread even if you somehow force installed them. You can find some apps that will display a tablet UI. Here is a few of ones I use that run a tablet UI:
Netflix (really nice tablet UI update that is working great)
OfficeSuite Pro 5
Maxthon Browser for 10" Tablet
Firefox (tablet UI can be enabled in about:config)
What I look for is apps that have tablet screenshots or have been updated for ICS yet the same version also runs on GB.

so once we have an ics port we will have something that functions just like honeycomb does on the current tablets?

There is a video somewhere in the forums. There are two lines you need to edit. I know what to enter, but can't remember the exact name of the lines that are changed.
Here is a link to the video: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1381728
GT-I9100 and Samsung are the edits. It still won't let you download too many tablet apps as this is a phone port, but it still rocks.

Actually the Honeycomb source was released, it's included with the ICS source.
http://groups.google.com/group/android-building/msg/c0e01b4619a1455a?pli=1
This release includes the full history of the Android source code
tree, which naturally includes all the source code for the Honeycomb
releases. However, since Honeycomb was a little incomplete, we want
everyone to focus on Ice Cream Sandwich.

But since ICS is here nobody cares about Honeycomb anymore.

More importantly, the HC releases are not tagged, so it is all random guessing as to which ones correspond to the HC builds..
don't know how this works, but will it work with our touchpads cm9/10 etc?

edit: oh i see.. "A ROM which uses our update center has the app installed by default"
so i guess it is up to developers to implement it.
something tells me we wont ever see this for our devices =/
Why not use Goo Manager to handle your updates/downloads?
I know it's not an end-all OTA concept like that one is showing, but it make a decent alternative for people who want to work with CM9 nightlies - and possibly CM10 or however they end up classifying Android 4.1 on TouchPad.
--McBean
oh i just think the concept is pretty cool for ota updater.
Hi mates..
Does anyone know when android 4.2 will be released for our gs3? Samsung says it wont be updated till q1 of next year.. is there any possibility to make a alpha/beta rom earlier than samsung releases source code?
Thanks and sorry for stupid quest..

I dont think they will release 4.2..frankly speaking. Very few feature can be implemented I think. Or at least, they can be implemented but samsung will hate to implement them.
short 4.2 feature list:
1) Settings toggles in notification panel -- Samsung already has that. Also, according to me it is a better implementation. Google's 2 finger swype looks unnecessary. With samsung, its right there
2) Camera app. -- hands down the most futuristic looking camera app from google. Functional, Fast, and featurewise not better than Samsungs. For such a lengthy camera feature list, that Samsung really does have, The pictogramm view that we have now...is not necessarily bad. I would like to see google camra officially customised from Samsung. But I do not think it is in Samsungs "interesting-feature" list.
3) Multitasking. -- nothing to say there
4) In built Editing options in gallery. Samsung has a edit app that sort of interacts with the gallery app.
5) Sphere: nothing to say there
That was it..or?
I think they will bring these updates with the next big android update to S3...so probably Android 5 (Kandy Kane?). But they will not be in a hurry with 4.2

Hi guys,
I compiled b2g for the nexus 5 to try it out. If anyone else is interested, you can download my build. I attached the build logs as well.
In my opinion, it is nowhere near ready to be used as the primary operating system on the nexus 5 but if anyone wants to play around with it, be my guest.

[MOD][XPOSED]Unclutter IG - Hide Instagram ads & sponsored content [v1.2][2019-08-11]
Remove the clutter from your IG experience -- this Xposed module hides advertisements and promoted content from your Instagram feed and stories.
Also has bonus option to clean up the Explore (search) page; choose to stop showing all those suggested posts from public accounts.
As of 08/11/2019, confirmed to support latest release 105.0.0.18.119.
This module automates the process of intercepting and hiding the unwanted content, and shouldn't rely on specific IG versions to function properly.
However, if newer IG versions begin to break functionality, module updates should hopefully follow soon to keep up with the changes.
Note: Beyond the standard ads, 'paid partnership' branded content refers to any posts that are officially labeled as 'Paid partnership with [company]'.
Changelog
v1.2 - 8/11/2019:
• Added international support for hiding ads
v1.1 - 8/03/2019:
• Revised approach for finding the Explore page hooks; should support latest IG versions
v1.0 - 07/12/2019:
• Initial release

Thank you for creating this module! Seems to be working fine for me on IG 100.0.0.15.120. This is the first one I've tried that works flawlessly! Instagram usually drives me mad with all the adverts and suggested rubbish. :victory:
Woah!! Thanks for this awesome module!! (If XInsta merged with this, it would be the best Instagram mod out there!)
Thank you for this amazing module!
Finally I can remove all the bullsh*t on Insta.
Using this version of Instagram
Fantastic module, really appreciate your work!
Works like a charm on the latest version (101.0.0.15.120). Absolutely no ads are present in the feed or stories! Excellent work @Tremendo Slap! Big thanks!
works fine on GBinsta as well.... Can you do anything about the sponsored posts in stories in the upcoming versions?
@Tremendo Slap @xkip you guys should work together since you are making the same xposed module.
Finally! A 100% reliable method to block ads on Instagram. The integration is seamless too, no side effects at all. Thanks for this awesome module!

It's a false positive, you can safely ignore it.
New version 1.1 released, should support IG v104.0.0.21.118.
I noticed when I updated to that version, the module wasn't hiding the Explore page anymore. Some things changed internally, so I took a new approach to detecting whether I'm in the right areas of the Explore page. It's somewhat more hackish, but it should hopefully be more reliable moving forward.

They don't show up for me. I'm using the latest stable version of Instagram. Do note that this module is intended to work on the official version of Instagram, not a modded version (ike GBInsta, etc.) with which it may or may not work since the app is already modified.
I can't make it work is it because I'm using French language and so it can't recognize the sponsored post ??
The one from xkip works but stories are cut in half (the profile icon)
@Tremendo Slap I'm getting sponsored Ads when looking at stories too. It's happens when you look at one story after another.

*Forehead slap* Yes, because when I started making this mod for myself, it never even occurred to me to consider other languages! I was using a hardcoded string.
Pretty dumb oversight on my part. I've made the change in the latest version 1.2.
Thanks for letting me know!
