THX!

1 - YES, you can recover back via CWM your backup CM7 - but before it you have to flash nAa kernel (instead of JB kernel) and in CWM wipe data and some more things - just read carefully the thread about CM10)
2 - all costum roms are still in developement and still improving, so you can use them, but they are not bugs-free and some of them not for day-2-day use (much bugs)
3 - why you cant go to developement section and download it from there? xD

flashtool is for firmware/baseband flashing
xrecovery is for changing/updating ROMs
currently the only perfect roms are Eclair (2.1)
all Froyo (2.2) roms dont have video recording facility (if any then at very low fps 15fps with low res)
all GingerBread (2.3) roms dont have camera/video recording...

[Q] Root + Recovery + Custom ROM (Better way?)

Hello all,
I have an X8 but I need to get to know about x10 mini pro because of a friend of mine.
Which is the best way to root it, to install xRecovery (or something like that, which one do you guys use in Mini pro?), and which is the best and stable ROM for X10 Mini Pro (which is the most stable? 2.2 or 2.3?).
If there is any tutorial already, please post in this topic a link to it.
Thank you.
i allways use this way for root and xrecovery:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=950324
or this app for xrecovery and cwm recovery
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1128854
you will need CWM recovery for install custom roms (Xrecovery is allmost history)
for now the most stable roms are 2.2 and they are:
CyaNo (R)Evolution & CyaNoComb
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1132063
Cyanogen Froyo CM6-Latest (based on MiniCM) - v5.0 Final Release Reuploaded
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1059361
FroyoComb v1.5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1085607
and 2.3 rom:
Cyanogen Gingerbread CM7 based on MiniCM for MiniPro (v15.0)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1041099
I would suggest using CyaNoComb 1.1 it is very stable and the battery usage is very low
Also for installing CWM recovery the easiest way is by using the app made by D4arkenessys
To root it use superoneclick root for the pc
Just google it and download it
Sent from my mini pro running CyaNoComb by d4
Thanks guys, but can't I use FlashTool for rooting and installing recovery?
yes you can do with flashtool

I've not used MiniCM7Pro coz I have the mini not mini pro ( x10 mini ) and that is for the pro (The One with hardware keyboard ) So, if you have the pro go for the MiniCM7Pro v21 Final coz it has to bug free or very less bugs, I think so go for the later version if u have u20a or u20i or else u have to use the Mini CM 2.1.9 as I am using..Hope I have helped you......
i'm using MiniCM7-2.1.9
it's great rom
Hi,
I am using MiniCM7 2.1.9 since months, and what I can say is that latest version has not bug and it is fast....what expecting more ?
I'm using CM7 2.1.9 too. The latest kernel by Nobodyatlall simply amazing because it has ICS transition and the rom is by far the best for X10 mini device. Furthermore, my friend simply try to install Ungaze Data2sd and this makes it has plenty of internal memory (the script add up the ext partition internal storage).
I tryed both of them and what I can say (without any bad feeling toward anyone) MiniCM7-2.1.9 is more completed and bug free (I found 0) than MiniCM7Pro (problems with tethering and hot-spot, no possibility fo switch on-off flash-light from power widgrt in task bar.. and probably more).. Anyway probably the only one advantage is use of Go Ex Louncher that I use.. Performance is equal based on a subective feelings but not measured via benchmark (I do not believe them..) In case You have specific questions feel free to ask.. I hope to be able to answer You
i use this [ROM] GingerDX | is CM7 2.1.9 too with more stuf

Is this all about preinstalled stuf or stability and relability?!?
rooted and with system uninstaler apps i uninstall what i want if dont remove it i use root uninstaler pro
Problem number 1:
This is the mini forum, not the mini pro forum.
Problem number 2:
You posted in DEVELOPMENT section just to ask which rom is better. Next time, post in the Q&A. development is, as the name obviously states, only for Android development(new roms, kernels etc)

I had MiniCM7 from V7-V21 about 4 months, all in all, great rom, BUT if you have unlocked bootloader, MiniCM7-2.1.9 + Kernel nAa-11 definitely this rom. Its much more responsive, faster, stable,no bugs (mine clocked 768mhz is flying),and its fully updated...
Just hit Thanks...

(CLOSED) switching from nAa miniCM9ICS to miniCM10JB

Since i cant post a reply to the specific thread yet(don't have more than 10 posts ) So i'm posting my questions here :fingers-crossed:
I was wonder if its possible to switch from nAa miniCM9ICS to miniCM10JB, if yes then kindly tell me how...
other questions
>is miniCM10JB better than miniCM9ICS?
-if yes...why is it better?
>is it worth switching?
thats all guys~!
Yes it is better, cause it's latest android version.
It is faster, smother..... bla,bla,bla...It have led bug but u can fix it with a finger in the a**
If u decide to flash mcm10 just:
install JB kernel from nAa > format in cwm system, data, cache partitions > flash mcm10 > install SU fix from mcm10 thread > delete /system/lib/hw/lights.msm7x27.so ......and that's it
forgot:
yes, it is worth switching
and
DON"T FORGET TO DO BACKUP IN CWM FIRST !

If you can live with the deficiencies of MiniCM9 (ics) like crappy camera and video because of unsupported hardware, then, by all means, JB is the better of the two. It features a few of the same issues as MiniCM9 because our hardware is 'under spec' in terms of memory and power, but it feels a lot smoother and is easier to live with than ICS.

MiniCM7 for the most complete user experience, How-to is exactly like MiniCM9.
if you want MiniCM10 you have to format the /system /data and /cache partitions in the mounts-and-storage menu of CWM.

Well, to be honest, miniCM7 is the best choice for better day-to-day use of x10 mini and x10 mini pro. Smooth, fast and bug-free gives the best out of these little "monsters"...
But, if you are in the mood to try something new, go for MiniCM10. You have to be prepared though that there are bugs, it is not as fast and smooth as MiniCM7 and the battery "life" is shorter. Just give it a try and decide...
Now im really convinced to switch to minicm7
but im still wonderin' if there are other roms based on minicm7 thats better than minicm7
GingerDX is a great alternative...

A list of "YOU MUST DO with your Mini"?

Hi,
I have Galaxy Nexus and flash it a lot. So I'm not newbie.
But I'm a total newbie once we talk about X10 Mini.
What are the most important things I must do with my Mini?
- CWM? Is there a cwm for mini?
- Titanium?
- Tweaks/tools/apps for speed and performance?
I want to stay with stock ROM.
Thanks for tips.
You flash Android on one divace but you newbie on Android on other divace hmmm
Whell if you wanna stick to Stock :
1.JIT
2.oc/uv module
3. fake DT
4.zipalign
that's it . You cant do much on 2.1 anymore - you keep the best - Camera and Radio and that's all . There no G-play for it you got few apps left on Market which is still support 2.1 and that's it. You can use A2SD via SDext2 from G-play.
spoken in 2 words - Camera and Radio =2.1
Android 2.1 on our small beasts is like driving a tank and shooting out the barrel with a pistol.
It can do so much more

1. V6 supercharger is great for multitasking, no matter what rom. You just have to install busybox and run the v6 script from smanager (search on play store).
2. Seeder is mostly for heavyweight gamers, and not really suited for daily use, as, in my experience, it drains the battery.

1. Is busybox which was installed during rooting process with flashtool enough? Or should I download busybox from the Play Store?
2. No gaming planned. So I'm skipping this.

The I don know the preinstalled version of bb on flashtool, so, to be sure, I´d download the one from the market and install it.
Ok. Thanks.
