Question re upgrading jellysandwich 7.4 from older rom - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

im currently on maxio1998's jellysandwich 7.2.1 rom. so i wana upgrade my neo to the latest jellysandwich 7.4 rom.
do i nid to wipe and format the phone system by cmw?

Bro,i saw that part of instruction too. But the wipe part is to be announced which make me doubt to update my js rom.
Do u wipe when u upgrade to 7.4?

Wipe is important, i jse js 7.4 now, i was running 7.3 before, so install fresh, i did this and it works:
Full factory reset
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik
Wipe battery stat
Then i did this:
Format system
Format data
Format cache
Fkash the rom
And in arome wipe cache and dalvik to
Done

Make a nandroid backup of your current rom.
Try to install 7.4 without wiping data, and let us know what happens.
Always intresting.

Hahaha ok, The Netherlands are the best to make cheese, my father works in a cheese factory so i grow up with cheese, sorry this was ifftopic but on topic is this, yes you will lose all apps and data but its better to make a fresh install

Here is what I do
When I am installing a new, different ROM, I always reset/wipe everything. When upgrading, most of the time, there is no need to format the data partition or factory reset since only a few of the already installed files will be changed.
However, it is good practice to wipe cache and Dalvik cache. Doing so does not delete any settings or data.
Furthermore, there are a few things you can do get your data back on the new ROM:
Move contacts to sdcard
Ensure all your pictures, movies, etc. are backed up on your PC/Mac in case anything goes wrong with the sdcard
Use a software such as My Backup or Titanium Backup to back up apps (available in Google Play)
Once your data is backed up, you can flash a few ROMs, decide on which one you like the best and restore your 'stuff' back.

R u sure? I know wipe dalvik cache wnt erase any apps. Not so sure abt wipe data/factory setting though
