♨ Modding a Games 'Save File' ♨ - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I was wondering if someone could bestow some of their knowledge, on what they know about:
◎ Save files - are they '.xml' or '.so' files?
◎ Retaining Save files - is it possible to add them into a game using a file manager?
◎ Is there a way to mod a save file from a game easily?
◎ Are there any apps that can help me modify a games save file in any way?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

[Q] Beginner question on simple apk decoding/editing with smali

How do you change where config files and libraries are stored for a particular apk? I want to move some config files to /system but I don't know how to get the app to recognize them once I move them. I already decoded the thing and have access to all the smali files, but don't know what to do with them. If anyone could just point me in the right direction so I could learn more about this, about what file tells the install where to look, that would be fantastic. Like, why does a library work if it is in /system/lib/ OR if it is in /data/data/apkname/lib/?

How to convert/extract RC2 files? And any other option besides UABE for assetbundles?

Hello all!
I've a few questions and maybe you guys can help me: I want to translate an Android Chinese Game and right now I can only open a *.rc2 file (with notepad++) that I found with a group of players of that game. The problem is that the game still has some other rc2 files, assetbundles and xml files that I can't open. So my questions are:
- How can I extract the assetbundles? I found the Assets Bundle Extractor (UABE) application but every time I try to extract a file, my PC restarts (my rig: i5 haswell, 8gb ram, GPU R9 200x series). Is there any other option to extract those files?
- Is there something that I can do to convert or decompile rc2 files so I can open and edit it?
- I can't open some of the XML files with Notepad++, do I need to convert it to text first? If yes, is there any app that I can use to do that?
(I get the .apk and followed one Youtube tutorial called "Get source Code(Java and XML) from android APK"but all I got were *.smali files).
I know that those questions are very newbie, but I'll appreciate any help.
Thank you.

Trying to understand link between Apk and Obb files

So it's pretty given that when you change anything in an obb file it breaks the link to its apk file.
But I've encountered a modded game in which changing the structure of the obb file doesn't break the link and you can load the game perfectly fine. Which opens the world to adding new contents into the obb file.
I'd like to know how to do this. I have no idea who the author of the modded game is so idk how to ask how he did it. So I'm here.
I have the original copy of the game but I want to mod it to add additional contents into it. Like more skins, etc.
